  1. oh is that the one bringing greys down from Sydney via pound rounds?
  2. I often use ISO 3200 and am very happy with the results. My 50mm 1.8 on the 7D is fantastic - for those of you having problems, are you shooting in RAW? it will likely hunt more if jpeg.
  3. well we aren't exactly out in the boonies lol, but it is definately worth considering postage as well as the cost of the product
  4. No I don't think so - they seem to add weight on top of that. when I put a 13kg bag of food in my 'pretend' cart - the postage said $ 6.50 PLUS WEIGHT = $15.95
  5. d/k but natural pet store is a flat $5, and I think PFL is around $15 to get to me ETA: just checked PFL - $15.95 postage for me
  6. human grade meats, poultry and fish - all raw - large chunks with and without bones as I want to know what I'm feeding prefer to stay away from processed food, although do keep grain fre dry food for emergencies and holidays
  7. you might want to try natural pet store for that. It is a couple of dollars dearer but postage is $10 or so less
  8. The other group in Vic is GSN, Greyhound Safety Net and I actually do find it offensive that they have been mentioned several times by name but you just refer to them as the other rescue. And GSN do not insist that dogs be kept outside and have buckets of water thrown over them. They only home greyhounds as indoor companion dogs.
  9. I'm not understanding your logic - if you foster for GAP, then they can take on another greyhound to replace the one you are fostering. As I said in an earlier post, without the financial & emnotional strain and liability. And while doing that you are getting to know the breed, and how their program works. So, if you are running your new rescue group, are you fostering those dogs?
  10. GAP Vic will only assess once the greyhound has been adopted and they then become a GAP greyhound with a new adoption contract between GAP and the adopter.
  11. I volunteer for GSN, who are ethical, and have good policies in place, which includes a plan B if a foster dog needs to be removed immediately. Have you considered that if you fostered for either GSN or GAP that you could play a very big part in "saving" 15 - 20 cat friendly greyhounds a year - the majority of which are killed due to lack of foster carers - without the expense, heartache and liability of trying to do the same on your own. You sound very inexperiened with greyhounds which does concern me.
  12. thank you so much - have passed your details on
  13. thank you - A lady who adopted two greyhounds from us (Greyhound Safety Net Inc) enquired about enrolling them into obedience class at GODC, but was told that they do not accept greyhounds, unless they have been adopted through the GAP. Not that it should matter, but these two greyhounds live with cats, and are in no way aggressive, just a bit young and silly. Anyway, have advised her to 'speak to someone in authority' in the club as their exclusion (if true) sounds not only wrong, but very missinformed. Annie
  14. I find them to be the best teeth cleaners, as the dogs actually tear at the meat with their front teeth rather than chewing with the sides.
  15. Is anyone on here affiliated with this club please?
