  1. I have multiple aloe vera plants in the back yard, and i use the leaf juice on nearly everything annieK
  2. I just sprinkle it over the raw meat and it sort of just vanishes. annieK
  3. I get them from a fresh chicken outlet in Frankston Bayside shopping centre. I see you are in Sydney so I can't help you there. Usually $3.99 per kilo and they weigh almost a kilo each. annieK
  4. The ony thing around here that lasts more than 10 minutes is turkey drumsticks. They last 15 I have found them to be the only "bones" where they actually pull the meat off with their front toofers as opposed to chewing on the side. So although they are expensive I consider them cheaper (and safer) than full dentals. They get them once a week. annieK ETA: yep shanks are totally gone in 10.
  5. oi - what about my other Chrissy card eh?????? BTW printed some posters off last night and they look great Annie
  6. thank you so much Maree - this thread is becoming one of my favourite places to lurk. And it is so very handy to be able to get stuff done for rescue without having to beg... We have a couple of people who help us out with stuff, but it means car drives, burning to disk, sitting around, then waiting until they have time - which could be a week. Here - well it all just happens like magic - don't even have to get off my bum. Annie
  7. OK OK OK - looks fantastic - BUT it isn't actually for Greyhound Safety Net - we're helping someone else out! it's for www.40houndsneedhomes.com Annie
  8. Hi Maree, I haven't thought of the wording for the flyer yet I need to come up with some kind of information about greyhound puppies ie they are not like the adults who sleep all day - they're real puppies. Plus I have to gather the contact details. Anyway, I was just going to make something up A4, probably just in word, and have a banner across the bottom about 2 oe 3 inches high with the photos on it. I don't need it until the end of the month, just trying to get somethiing prepared early! Annie Annie
  9. Yooo Hoooo I'm making up some flyers/posters for our next adoption day, and need to make a special one for some greyhound puppies that are looking for homes. Could I have something like a DOL siggy please from the photo's below? I just need a banner type thing to run across the bottom of the page. Annie
  10. I think ox cheek, ox tongue and heart is classed as muscle meat as opposed to offal. Offal is kidneys and liver? But there is no need to be exact & scientific about it. The main thing is variety, and I think 10% of total food over a period of a couple of weeks is fine. Otherwise you will send yourself nuts annieK
  11. I would like a box of necks too please. On the Mornington Peninsula but can travel to anywhere in melbourne to pick up (& happy to share petrol costs of course). thanks Annie
  12. All of the above, plus ox tongue, sometimes a nibble on a pigs head - they love the eyes  making up approx. 10% of total food intake. I usually get chicken frames with gibletty bits still attached. annieK
  13. ooo ooo ooo - I'm going to have to join more forums so I can use them all ;) thanks
  14. I guess ratheer than being selfish and having my furkids as a signature - I should really have a signature advertising the greys needing homes anyone? Dottie Jack Laney Simba Beau
  15. Freckles dogsong & piper - thanks so much now to work out what to do with them :p Annie ETA - done it!
  16. OK guys - would you like to make up something "nice" for me of my babies? Cowboy Phoebe thanks Annie
  17. Errrr ummmm.... that would be us You are a legend Harminee - thank you so much for helping the greyhounds. We raised over $1,000 last year with our Christmas cards - we will definately do the same this year ;) Don't want to spoil any suprises by showing the rest so soon before Christmas. annieK
  18. So pleased she is doing well and fitting in like she's always been there - they have a knack of doing that. Annie
  19. I feed them raw - still attached to the head. annieK
  20. When my boy went from pooh-ing normal to spraying water (all in one pooh) I put him on a 24 hour fast. He contimued to spray water for anothr day (every couple of hours day and night) and I was worried about dehydration. We were on holiday and he wouldn't drink much so I boiled up a chicken frame in about 2 litres of water, then gave him bowls of water with a tablespoon of "stock" regularly which he lapped up. Then onto boiled chicken and rice for 48 hours, by which time his poohs became normal. He had no vomiting and no other signs of being unwell, I think whatever he had, just needed to be flushed from his system. Our other dog didn't get "it". annieK
  21. yes I understand all of that Tony - thank you. My original query was related to greyhounds who sleep with their eyes open and can often have sleep startle. Other then gently saying their name (usually straight from the kennel they don't have one) and waiting for a reaction to find out if they are awake or not, the tail is usually an indicator as to whether they are asleep or awake. annieK
  22. Hi haven - thanks As this grey is a foster, I'm trying desperately to think of ways to help her forever home humans Our settling in manual for adopters is quite generic (for greys), so trying to help them "read" her a little bit. She doesn't have a home to go to as yet, so I will be watching her very closely. I've just walked into the loungeroom where there are three "post dinner" greys, one on a dog bed (end of tail flicked), one on a couch (big wag) and another on a couch looking like a dead body I guess I'll have to look even closer! annieK
