  1. Thanks for the kick up the bum - I too have been driving around almost killing myself looking at scenery instead of the road. Today I stayed home - guess what? I have a huge gum tree in the back yard - well I never - where did that come from
  2. ho hum from me too been out all day - did a home check this afternoon the other side of the bay - took my camera with me and nicked down to the beach in between the rain!
  3. greyhound noses and 1.8's don't mix unless you move back a bit! ets both ISO 400

  5. From Wikipedia, Landscape comprises the visible features of an area of land, including physical elements such as landforms, living elements of flora and fauna, abstract elements like lighting and weather conditions, and human elements like human activity and the built environment.
  6. I took these two last month when I was at Ashcombe Maze hunting down backlit stuff!
  7. good grief I hope so - I am surrounded by sea...lol might have to venture up among the wine vines tomorrow, although they are still a bit bare.
  8. I cut through Harvey Norman this morning, and you know how they have little lounge rooms set up? Well I tell ya, there were some really really boring backlit landscapes framed as part of the settings! I was in shock - most of my DOLer photo friends in this thread could have sone a whole lot better!
  9. aaaaaaaakkkkk you bitch just got home, logged on - straight to the photo thread - saw this at the top - raced in and
  10. I agree to Ash. I am loving the challenges and even though I've had my 400D for over two years, I have taken more pics in the last couple of months, trying new and different things - it's fantastic motivation. Yes I am still mainly shooting the dogs, but under different conditions
  11. well this is probably the last from me for August - I have really enjoyed "mucking around".
  12. dunno - I think they usually sell on eBay for around $800
  13. I prefer Ilford, and I got the last lot from the Good Guys.
  14. Just got back from two dog walks - took my camera on the second one! Such a beautiful light - taken walking along the pine track across the road from our house. ps. still no children these two aren't that interesting, but some flare and a kind of white streamer thingy on the second one
  15. Last year, my old boy had both of his premolars out at the same time. For the first few days after surgey, I fed him larger pieces of raw meat - nothing that could get caught/stuck in the holes By about day 4 or 5 he was on chicken necks and wings, by day 7 back to frames, briskets etc. The stithes were disolvable and he had absolutely no problems. Loosing those two toofers though, it now takes him longer to chew frames etc as he finds it hard to "get a grip" of them to get started. annirK
  16. Well I still haven't been able to borrow any children, but i found these this morning as I was driving to a friends place.
  17. ok now this is very technical so you have to listen up Taken through the dirty front room window. The bright flash is the reflection of the sun bouncing off the car in the driveway - in other words - a total fluke
  18. ok it's another day OH was mortified when he saw this, but he's out so will never know :D he is very embarrassment about the soup dribble. Anyway it was just taken with the point and shoot, but the backlighting has done some interesting thingies. and a friend's indoor backlit senior grey taken with the 50mm 1.8 no flash
  19. okey dokey - couldn't borrow any children (AGAIN) so had to take the old bloke to the beach this afternoon! oh and I know this isn't backlit - but I like it oh and I put them on flickr but can't seem to get them into my DOL post!
  20. three or four crunches then swallow - then hacked back (whole of course) for another crunch - than all gone!
