  1. I am happy to make her a coat. I would need measurements - pm me if interested. All profits go to greyhound rehoming Have a look on my website - I use better quality facbrics than some of the cheaper ones around.. Annie's Coats Annie
  2. BIG bump for Daisy - she is a wonderful person and does so much for rescue doggies. I would be there in a flash if we were closer together! Please help her if you can Annie
  3. Love the moon I glanced up at it last night when I shoved the dogs out for their bed time wee. Thought about it for all of 10 seconds - it was so bloody cold!
  4. So pleased that Red is helping you heal. Your photo's are stunning as always. Tell Red that I can sympathise about the brussel sprouts, as when I was a kid, my mother used to make me sit there until I'd eaten them
  5. OK - on a wet Melbourne afternoon I ventured into the front yard to have a first attempt at macro. I am quite fascinated at seeing my own relection upsidedown in some of the rain drops ;) comments please
  6. I love my Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 which you can get for well under $1000. But, I tend to favour the 50mm 1.8 for action shots - it is nice and light to carry around, but obviously I have to use my feet a lot!. Why not stick with that for a while and see what you can get out of it?
  7. normal detergent wash rinse with a slurp of vinegar final rinse with cudly (whatever flavour I have)
  8. No strict routine, but we walk rain hail or shine here. In fact we like walking in the rain - less chance of offlead dogs to deal with. My greys would not "do ok" if they missed a day
  9. You should never ever let them offlead in an unfenced area, nor walk them offlead. Despite their couch potato status, they are sight hounds, can take off in persuit of a piece of paper (across the road), and generally have no road sense. You can train a greyhound to have excellent recall (I have) but that has taken a few years! You are best to suss out a local fully fenced cricket oval or local dog club that has a fenced area. As I said in my earlier post, exercise levels are dependent on the dog. We have a handsome young fellow in foster care at the moment who has 2 x 2 hour walks most days and he loves it. We have others in care who couldn't care less if they never left the house (so long as they to go on trips in the car). You need to remember though, that we are now in winter, and once the warmer weather comes, their excercise would need to be a lot less due to the heat. So long as "the owner is authorised to use for that purpose" of couse!

  11. It all depends on the individual dog. Some are happy to lie around all day with a quick 15 minute walk. Some are happy to walk for an hour twice a day. I have kept my two fit (aged 7 and 9) and they have a free gallop most mornings (if they want it, or they may choose to just sniff and pee), plus a 30-45 minute walk in the afternoon - and they never say no if hubby wants to take them out again around 9pm. Like any dog, the size of the yard doesn't matter, so long as they get their walks.
  12. That's right - same with greys. If I have a foster and see a zoomie session coming, they are all muzzled before being let out into the back yard. The muzzle is a best friend!
  13. I make my pics small then upload to photobucket to post on here - that's why they all look a bit crappy (ny excuse anyway). I joined flickr, uploaded about 10 full size pics, then that was my months limit gone - so I haven't bothered with it sine then! I use redbubble for the good stuff! Annie
  14. very late afternoon sun and a "tanned" pooch
  15. thanks guys - he was a hoot it was very very windy - hence the ear pointing out in the second pic everytime he came to give me a slobbery kiss he got a "leave it" from Erny. But we did manage to sneak a couple in when she wasn't looking
  16. I like the 3rd one best
  17. just watched the slide show - WOW - what a great time they had!
  18. bloody fantastic - they'll watch the burglers come in, and watch them leave with your stuff
  19. Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with DOL's Erny, and Mandela her beautiful ridgy boy - here's some of what we did. Must say, it was an absolute delight to photograph an obedience trained pup instead of my stoopid greyhounds
  20. LOL .... what, and we'd have to sit there listening to what they say but would be effectively gagged?!!! ..... I don't think I could stand it !!! You would need to gaffa tape me and bind my wrists and ankles!! It will be enough to be viewing them on their online TV via my computer. At least I'll be able to verbilise my frustrations (or tribulations, perhaps ). At least I can have a drink in hand whilst I am watching them. I was informed by Parliament staffer that on Tuesday is when business is normally set (don't think they are the correct words - they have so much jargon it's difficult to keep up with) and that they may have an idea of where on the list of business (or whatever) the Bill is come 4pm Tuesday. oh dear - you'd better reach for the BP pills. we could take our dogs with us Can you please share the " online TV via my computer" link.
  21. So, are we all heading off to the public gallery on Tuesday?
  22. ah - she's just being a "collector"
  23. for those who like bottoms and for those who prefer faces both taken within one hour of unpacking my new canon 100mm macro lens
  24. Your whippy must be related to my grey girl - she rolls in anything dead - including her food For the OP - try a sprinkle of garlic salt on it - may start her off.
