  11. I admire anyone who has trained their dogs to do anything. Mine are either running or sleeping. Sure they will sit, but it is not very natural for them so it is only for a split second.
  12. I love this thread - great pics everyone ;)
  13. I usually take the pics of our foster dogs for our website, but am struggling a bit at the moment. Struggling because we have more and more carers - all over the place. And my work boss is away for 6 weeks, so I'm running his business for him, so putting in way too many work hours. Anyhoo, we have a boring black male grey (hardest to home anyway) up in foster care at New Gisbourne. Is anyone out that way who could organise to take a few pics. Unfortunately the pics that carers take usually have red eyes, are blurry etc. I have managed to "persuade" a lovely photo-DOLer to help us out in the Dandenongs, and may have other areas of need, depending on where our foster coordinator sends the dogs thanks Annie
  14. My vet suggests that it is the differeing bacteria in the mouth. Mine are fed a raw diet, bones every day, but both have gingivitis, and plaque gathers on the gumline of their canines if I don't wipe every day. They also get large chunks of meat to chew on - ox heart, ox tongue, 500g lums of stewing steak, they are both very good chewers, but I still need to wipe daily to avoid plaque build up..
  15. mine get bones every day, but have terrible teeth - I wipe along their gum lines every night with a chlorhexidine solution
  16. apart from the usual - frames, lamb necks, lamb shanks, mine also get huge chunks of meat to chew through - they pull the meat apart so their front toofers get "flossed". - an ox tongue cut lengthways - half a tongue = one meal - 500g lump of stewing steak = one meal - 500g chunk of ox heart = one meal turkey drumsticks are excellent too
  17. PM your addy and I'll mail you one for Pia - would she be a medium?

  19. thanks guys - she's a funny old chook She's a bit skinny and has no muscle tone - her skinny bum actually wobbles a bit when she walks ;) When she first gets up she's a bit wobbly on her back legs, but she is so happy once she has a run. She bounces up and down - runs like a mountain goat! She has been sound asleep since dinner - I will have to give her an extra prod tonight for bed time wee's.
  20. Mine each had a big chunk of ox heart and a huge chunk of stewing steak - lots of chewing!
  21. and a few more! and a big smile at the end
  22. As some of you know I am looking after a friends dear old girl Katie. Well let me tell you, she does not act her age when allowed to stretch her legs I took Katie and our Phoebe out for a bit of a zoomie this afternoon. 24. Came back to look at your photo again Annie, just cause I like it so much. As Huga said, great composition, this is a good example of the rule of thirds. I also love the way the person in the distance is looking back, even though they're out of focus they are still involved in the scene. thank you - that's hubby with our two greys - he's looking back yelling "what the f^%& are you doing - hurry up"
