I've thought about it many times, but by the time you buy good quality canvas etc, plus the lining (you can buy the yoga mat stuff by the metre at Bunnings) I figured it was going to cost me around the $100 mark anyway. And to use canvas/leather, you really need an industrial machine which I don't have.

Of course I almost bought one at the photo thingy we went to in the city - ask Kirislin - but they wouldn't sell me the one they had it was just for show - so they missed out on a sale, it was around the $200 mark too. Huga, would you like a fluro pink Wahl bag - I have a spare?

If it makes you feel any better I'll explain my current set up. I have my small lowe bag that holds the 7D with 50mm attached, and at a squeeze I can also fit the 100m in. That then goes into a big canvas fluro pink Wahl bag, together with my 70-200 in its big case. Squidged in between is my 17-70 in a mans explorer sock (lined with foam). That is just to get the lot from A to B. I then decide what I am going to need, and rearrange from there! So now that you understand it is my one and only (and first) real bag for my gear I'm sure you don't begrudge me of it

It's not just "the dogs" - I can't speak for the other rescues involved, but we are always in need of stamped envelopes (or just postage stamps) - prepaids for the mobile - photocopy paper - petrol vouchers - all sorts of admin type stuff that eats up the funds! annieK
