Texas is one of my favourite DOL dogs - mainly due to your great photography. I wish him well and hope you have many more photo opportunities with him. You will look back one day at your wonderful memories on paper (er computer). Annie

I have decided to do 52 weeks of Greyhounds Week 1 / 52 This is Pepper - pic is from a shoot I did yesterday for a new adopter. She was looking into the chook shed - wondering where her dinner had gone Only joking - Pepper is cat, horse and free range chook safe!

Walking/exercising Dogs In The Hot Weather

Beach at 5:30 - 6:00am. Always a little cooler and they can have a paddle if they want to. -
Well I've set myself a little task of concentrating on "exposure" next year - by that I mean taking individual pics of my two - one is black and the other mostly white, so I intend to do a lot of manual tweaking - unders and overs, backlit blown out skies, silhuettes etc and some bracketing . So I guess this a good place to post the best photo each week. The greys don't actually do much - a five minute run and a 23+ hour sleep each day, but I can "do my stuff" with them while they are snoozing can't I?

I'm in with Cowboy, but only on Dol - as I don't like flikr.

thank you all for sharing your pups for 52 weeks - have really enjoyed coming in here and perving I'm in with Cowboy next year

I am not against dry, but I find feeding raw is cheap and easy. There are a lot of poultry places not far from here when I can get chicken offcuts very cheap. As Cowboy ages he goes off the kibble now and again - but is always up for a kg of chicken necks And he needs fairly fatty meat to keep his weight up, whereas Phoebe would eat toasted cardboard (without the butter) and she would look like a porky pig. So I would have to keep two kinds of dry on hand if feeding more than what I do. With raw it is easy - he gets more anyway, but for him I leave all the fat on the chicken frames, for her she has it trimmed a bit.

eta I tried Proplan sensitve and their coats went bad. Tried Nutro - Cowboy had soft poos. So even though the dry is a small % , I have to say it must be the dry
-
I feed 80% raw - the rest dry - currently EP holistic. The raw is all/any manner of animal parts, and is rotated. So if I change the dry to XXX and their coat/poos whatever changes, then because the raw is pretty much set in stone, I have to "blame" the dry.

mmmm - just had a bit of a google about it, although I still remember the wild goose chase I went on for the "blue" moon not that long ago

My "bits" are all insured - serial numbers quoted, and all for specific amounts - on the household policy.

If you have a look in the manual it has a table somewhere showing card size / number of pics/video length etc depending on shooting mode. oh and congrats

priceless :D -
I love the 30mm - it is very sharp, and even at 1.4 I can easily get the distance right for the pointy noses. That length for me, is perfect to get above a standing greyhound and actually get it in the frame without a ladder. The 50mm is a no go for that as the dogs are too tall. I use photobucket, so all of the pics I post on here look crappy, so no good putting anything up for you to look at.
-
I have the 30mm Huga - I think any wider and you may have too much distortion. I also have the Sigma 17-70, and below 35mm is a bit, well "wide"
-
Haven't you heard of hybrid vigour - the dogs live so much longer
-
Well there's definately something wrong with the old girl. Greytpets brought her over for a visit today and she doesn't like cheese But apart from that, she's as happy and lively as any 7 or 8 year old

to be honest it was the NOT white lens that pushed me to the Sigma, as after seeing Luke W with his big white bazooka I just couldn't bear the thought of me prancing around with "one of those".. -

I see that mine (non OS) is down to around $ 780 - I think I paid just under a grand for it.
