  1. Week 48 of Greyhounds our Phoebe again this week - she celebrated her 9th birthday yesterday, so we went to the beach to have some birthday fun!
  2. Grain free salmon here (or any canidae will do really if I can't get that one). Two greyhounds - 9yo female who is very active for a greyhound - so I like the higher fat & protein. 11 yo male who is inactive due to arthritis and needs to keep his calorie intake up as he can get picky with his food. They get fed mostly raw, but I use the canidae to maintain/increase weight - ie up the canidae for extra energy or calories. And the canidae has done wonders for "Miss Seal coat"..lol
  3. week 47 of Greyhounds this is Jenny - she can't wait to get on to that couch!
  4. week 47 of Cowboy yesterday we found a new quiet place for a splodge :D
  5. Week 46 of Cowboy early morning s t r e t c h
  6. Week 46 of Greyhounds Phoebe enjoying "nothing better on a hot day".
  7. the bloody big wrench was in regards to the dog attack on a toddler. If you think that is too harsh so be it. If I had have hold of the wrench and it was my baby being attacked I wouldn't have stopped until the dog was dead and I make no apologies for that. As for your opinion of me, who cares what you think, certainly not I. Well said Rebanne - and for what it is worth, you should not have to respond to personal attacks such as this which are beyond meaningless and quite frankly quite hilarious
  8. And that is exactly why I take a big stick with me, so that when I am walking my 25kg & 37kg dogs ON LEAD down the street and a 5 kg "friendly" OFF LEAD dog decides to rush them/me, I can protect my dogs from being seized and destroyed if the worst happens.
  9. If moron's can't understand basic manners and can't/won't control their dogs then I am being responsible by defending my dogs in any manner I see fit. When you have one of your dogs attacked you may feel differently about whether any dog should be given the benefit of any doubt on it's intentions. My very first loyalty is to MY dogs, no one elses. absolutely spot on And my "responsible dog owner's tool kit" to defend MY dogs, contains a big stick!
  10. We were there that day too - as you said it was a disaster waiting to happen and so very scarey to "hear"
  11. Getting back to the OP A lady I know was minding her own business walking her two large breed dogs on lead down the street. Whilst bending over to pick up poop a small fluffy dog appeared from no-where and raced up to her dogs giving them a fright. One of her dogs had a chomp. The vet bill came to thousands, small dog died. Lady of large dogs was threatened with having both of her dogs seized and destroyed despite no DNA to proove which/both dogs did what. Lady lawyered up and went to court. She got to keep her dogs but had to pay vet bll for small dog. Apparently although the small dog was illegally offlead, the big dogs were the greater of the two evils. So - I will do anything and everything - kick, scream at, flogg any dog that gets within a couple of metres of my onlead dogs. I do not give a rats if people think I am stupid or paranoid, I will not put my dogs in danger of being seized and destroyed because of some other persons "friendly" dog.
  12. easy, the rude owners of the rude dogs would say it shouldn't be there. My nervous old girl did love her walks but those rude dogs did have the potential to ruin it for her, hence my carrying a riding crop and using it. Off lead area near a river = free for all. ETA I gave up walking this dog cause there were just too many idiots to contend with. She made do with runs with the greyhounds at the slipping track ;) Hang on, does the above mean that you would walk your girl in an off lead area, and if another dog ran up to her to "say hello" (yes rude but with no aggression) you would hit the other dog with the riding crop? I know I would and dogs that run up to mine get the boot. me too absolutely
  13. I rtang them again yesterday - after searching and searching for the paperwork. I got the recorded message. Anyway the same lady as the first time rang me back - I was hoping for someone else. I quoted the reference and retold the story. She couldn't find anything on the computer or wahtever, so I quoted her the time and date of our conversation and went through it again. She said she would have to ring me back. Didn't hear back yesterday and had to go to work today. Anyway it was in the mail box when I got home It had been working well on my two greys teeth (that's two greys not two teeth), but as I haven't had any to use for a couple of weeks, they are looking bad again as just brushing wasn't enough. So I am happy, but unsure about ordering it again from the UK. It aslo had "gift" on the docket. Annie
  14. Ok so I am going to have to cheat to catch up Weeks 44 & 45 of Cowboy - both taken at the local oval this morning I promise I will try harder next week!
  15. Week 45 of Greyhounds Dora enjoying an afternoon at the beach
  16. I think I am still behind. Week 43 of Cowboy Mid-shake - watch out for the flying spit
  17. I'm getting behind Taking the pics but due to work I am struggling to get them processed. Managed to hand over pics to my friend I went on holiday with last week, which meant I took more pics So here's week 43 of Greyhounds - 15 yo Katie I went to a hound show at KCC park Sunday - so week 44 is Warrior - baby of breed - he's 4 months old and so reminds me of Cowboy! I will get around to the purist 52 weeks thread tomorrow.
  18. I am terrified of snakes but each night I am mysteriously drawn to this thresd - then have nightmares - maybe 'cos i never see them but they are obviously out and about in my area!
  19. Well I managed to get home from work in time to ring them this afternoon. Although the womans words were quite adament that as a plant product I couldn't bring it in, her slightly wavering voice gave me some hope. I played the "confused I don't understand role" - telling her that I have brought it n before, so she said I was lucky and it depends on the xray. I explained that Troy now sell it here and she told me that they would have an import licence and I don't. Then I told her I was very confused, because I had spoken to a couple of friends (yes you Oakway..lol) and that they had received the same letter and once they rang AQIS the product was released immediately. She went away and came back a few times, then I asked her if she didn't have a list on her computer with manufacturers and products that were either allowed or not. And so I was still in a state of confusion as to why I can't have mine when other people have theirs and it seems to depend on who you talk to, so can I please talk to someone who will release it as they don't realy seem to have a difinitive yes or no. She kept refering to it as a veterinary product and I kept telling her that no, you can buy it at pet shops now through Troy. After more umming and arring she said that if she released this one there was no guarantee that the next one would be released. Again I played more confusion...lol So I told her that I have no need to purchase it overseas anymore as I can buy it locally, so she will release it, but I won't risk it again. Annie
  20. I will do that Oakway thank you. I only missed them on the phone this afternoon as I was ploughing through this thread to see what other people had done
  21. I bought mine through net-pet-shop on eBAY
