That's how I understand it as well - If there are no CC's then there is no BOB as you can only compete for BOB if you are awarded a CC, and therefore only compete for BIG if you have been awarded a BOB

Does anyone know how it works regarding a National Show being held and the non awarding of CC's at a show within 1000k's of the breed National??? If there are dogs entered at an All Breeds show within 1000 k's obviously they arnt entitled under ANKC rules to be awarded a CC - can these dogs get a Best of Breed and go onto compete for Best in Group???????

Is it misleading to advertise a dog as a Best in Show winner when it was won at an OPEN SHOW hence saying : introducing BIS CH .............. ????? what does everyone else think????

Has everyone read the ANKC minutes of October 2009 regarding the Pre 87 Standards as follows 2.8 Pre 1987 Kennel Club (England) Standards > With the present political climate and the world wide pressure towards > eliminating > exaggeration from breed standards it has been unanimously resolved to > cancel > the current ANKC Policy of allowing breeds to adopt the Pre 1987 Kennel > Club > (England) Standards and for the ANKC to adopt the current standard from > the > Kennel Club (England) or from the Country of Origin/Development. For those > breeds who originally chose to adopt the Pre 1987 Standard the National > Breed > Council, Breed Clubs or Owners will be surveyed to choose between the > current > Kennel Club standard or the Country of Origin/Development standard. In other words we are doing away with all Pre 87 standards and we have to choose between the current > Kennel Club standard or the Country of Origin/Development standard. There will be alot of breed standards affected by this decision - for one is the British Bulldog who will be adopting the current Kennel Club standard that came into effect in October 2009 - a big change for the breed
