Yep! Its the Gosnells Obedience club trial, 24th March! I'll be the one stuffing up during the run. My memory's really bad.

Lol! Dogs are amazing, smart animals. Thanks Sam! ;) Spencer (And me! ;) ) loves your dogs! He's always watching them, waiting for me to pay attention to something else, then he's off!! He is a funny dog lol. Now that we've passed this challenge, we've got to work on speed. Yep, at Ashfield. It's awesome there. Great trainers, great people, great atmosphere. I'm pretty sure they start a new course beginning of every school term. You should come down Friday arvo's! Thanks Julie! I'm still on cloud 9!! Thanks Tollersowned! Once again, a HUGE THANKS to EVERYONE!! Without everyones support, I would have given up many times already.

A few of you know that Spencer has had a few difficulties with the dog walk. We've worked with him for just under a year, trying to get him to go over. Everyone at the club has been extremely helpful. Never giving up. Anyway, tonight, he decided he was going to shock me. He ran straight over it!! We did it again and again, just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Then, to top it off, my German Shepherd had a quick go on a few pieces of equipment. With the training we've been doing at home, she managed to weave most of the 12 poles, the tunnel, dog walk and had a quick go at the tire!! Thanks for letting me brag. Most of you probably won't know what we've been through to get to this stage, but thanks to all the trainers, the people I train with, and my parents, we've gotten to this stage. We've got our first trial coming up soon, we'll only be doing jumpers though, because I don't want to risk the chance that something happens to make him loose his confidence on the walk/a-frame.

Hey Sam, I didn't know the Perth Training club did flyball! Thanks for the info and offer. Not sure whats happening yet. I might talk to my girls breeder and see if she knows anything about flyball at the German Shepherd club. Thanks Sandra

Can we use agility jumps for now? And teach the dogs the turns etc before we get the actual equipment?
-
How do we go about starting our own club?
-
You know what that means Tiggy! I'm sure there's a team here in Perth somewhere. I swear I've read it somewhere. Then again, I could be wrong. I saw a demo done by the German Shepherd club at the Royal Show last year. I qould definately be interested in starting my dogs in Flyball.

I don't think so, TB. I haven't seen it on the shelves here.

I'm so sorry, I feel your pain. My budgie flew away 24th December this year. She had free flight of our house. We had accidently taken her outside before, without us noticing. (She use to sleap on our shoulders) She happened to fly in the room when my brother was opening the door, and she was off. It's been 5 long days, and no siting.
-
I started Maddy in obedience. Stopped after two terms though. We still do some here at home. I also started agility with Spencer. He has gotten sooo much better, in both agility and his daily manners. Before he would chase the other dogs, bark at everything that moved, and totally ignore me. Now he's great. My aims for next year are to start trialing Spencer in agility, and to start Maddy in agility.

We got our Border Collie first. Then heard about agility. So we started in that. My next dog, will either be another Border Collie or a Belgian Shepherd. But most likely a Border.

There are photo's on your blog?

Not spraying directly in face/eyes (ouch!), but around neck/body. This way the smell surrounds them, but isn't in their faces.
-
We use the vinegar squirt bottle here too. Half water, half vinegar. We don't spray directly in their faces though. They bark at cats all through the night, this seems to shut them up a bit. They usually shut up after a few yells, but then start up again as soon as we hit our beds.

I hand my GS an egg, she'll take it from me and go to the top of the stairs (outside) and drop it. (Smart thing) Then she'll go gulp it up, shell included. My BC on the other hand won't eat the shell unless its mashed up into tiny pieces, mixed through his food.

Is dogwise based in Australia? I thought it was american?

My boy was done last year. He wasn't 'with it' when we brought him home. Walking into walls ect. Few hours later he was back to normal.

Selective hearing.. Yep! Got it here too with my GS. She's just over a year and has decided she's the boss. She's never touched our shoes to date. What do i find when i put my runners on? Bits of shoe everywhere. She knows that she's in trouble, she just pretends she can't see us. -
