The extra steps are incorrect as per the process as it's meant to run. There is no provision for the BNOB's to compete against each other in this way. Neuters are put after the BOB/RUBOB line but before the next breed subheading.

That's what I spotted at a previous show too EF. Yes, the Neuters are all catalogued after the entires, sort of like a separate breed, and run that way too. Not male neuters after entire males and neuter bitches after entire bitches. You are correct that they are judged like a seperate breed, this has been the case since the neuter classes were first allowed back in January 2000. SECTION 3 Neuter Classes 3.3 Classes 15,16,17 & 18 shall be judged at breed level after Best of Breed and any Class elimination judging. 3.4 Classes 15,16,17 & 18 shall be judged at both Group and Show level immediately after Class 11. These regualtions were wriitten this way to ensure there was no confusion about which exhibits were eligible to go into the "Challenge" line up. By having the entire classes completely finished before the neuter classes commence, there is no way a neuter can "slip" into the challenge line up. Terrific, that is what I thought. It has to be Open Neuter in Group or whichever classes are offered. It is only when only Open neuter is offered that each of the best neuter of breed would always go against each other. For example: There are 4 Neutered dogs entered in a particular breed .15 Puppy Neuter - 1 .16 Junior Neuter - 2 .17 Intermediate Neuter - 3 .18 Open Neuter - 4 Then a spattering of other neuters throughout the group. 1 would go against all other Puppy N's 2 against all other Junior N's etc etc If number 3 took out best neuter of that breed from the intermediate class and all other breed were won by the Open Neuter then the BOB that 3 won would never compete for a "Best in Group" against the other BOB's there is no provision for this to happen.

So a NIG should get more points but a REAL class, say Intermediate In Group doesn't get any more points, sure that makes sense NOT. At The Rock yesterday there were TWO neuters! OK, it was sweeps and no points on offer but if, as has been stated many many times, your dogs REALLY want to just show, then where are you all? I hear how ALL these people with neuters want more shows to offer the class but am yet to hear of a decent entry when shows DO offer this class. Now some of you are saying you should get more classes, even your own group, and more points! Maybe when there is actually a reasonable amount of neuters being shown these things could be considered. Instead of campaigning shows to put on the classes maybe you should be campaigning the owners of neuters who say they really want to show. Hi, Yes, for neuters NIG is equivalent to BIG.......and in the scheme of things atm they are not going to get too many extra points anyway.......and if the classes aren't given how can neuter owners enter.........all neuter owners can do is campaign and get the word out not only to the Clubs but to other Neuter owners as well, it's like what cames first the chicken or the egg.......maybe a Neuter Owners Association or Club is needed, There is no such thing as Neuter in Group, there are specific classes that are available. A dog could win Junior Neuter in group and win no points because there was an Open Neuter in the same breed that took out the breed then went on to ON in group. It is the same as classes. The BOB Neuters don't automatically all go up against each other unless the only class offered is 18/A. Maybe if the class was better supported it could justify the CC's arguing for more points to be available. The NT has supported the class prior to the class being given the points recognition. We often have a large percentage of our entries being neuter compared to the numbers quoted in this thread.

Sorry - but I don't agree with your assumption that people with views that the Gr CH should be tougher are people with Gr CH - I don't own a GR CH or even an Ch yet (soon I hope) but believe that the current rules are better than the old ones. A Gr CH needs to have shown that it has beaten something. The requirement of four 25 point challenges makes sure that this has happened. Also - a Belgian Shepherd was BIS at an all breeds show here in SA last year - so it does happen. This breed regularly wins at Group level because it is a fantastic example of the breed. It will get its grand easily (it might have it already actually - I am unsure - it has enough group wins to qualify though). Good examples of rare breeds do win at group level here in SA on a regular basis. In terms of keeping people at shows - Dogzonline point score is doing that nicely . One Belgian Shepherd in one State. Name me the last Leonberger or Pharoah Hound. The Dogzonline point score is keeping the Grand Champions showing. Look at who leads each State and breed. Point score won't keep me showing but a change back in the GC conditions probably will. There have been 2 top winning Pharaoh's that I have personally seen shown in Darwin and there are a few scattered through NSW as well. Wazza "Ch Breekama Wicked Warrior" amassed the following: 6 Best In Shows 3 Runner Up In Shows 18 Best In Groups 15 Runner Up In Groups He had amassed over 900 points towards his grand championship before he passed away unfortunately. Every breed has that "one" dog but you know what that's what it should be! If the breed is rare we may only ever see 1,2 or 3 super quality, worthy of a Grand Championship title dogs. This is numerically less than the breeds you may have mentioned but the percentage is probably the same. If it's 1 Grand Champion per 1000 dogs breed then of course it looks like there are more Staffords (have you seen how many are listed on the Breeders page?) Personally I do not own a Grand Champion, I have shown someone else's dog with great success and got this Pug's Grand (there was less than a dozen Grand Champion Pugs at the time) and she would qualify under the new system even though she won hers well before it came in. The other thing I remind myself every time I go to a show? I have dogs that can and have beaten Grand Champions. The Pointer I show won BIG over a Grand Champion and then went RUIS beating another Grand Champion just last night. He has just starting to come into his own and get some big wins under his belt, if I'd stopped showing his after he was titled and when he was only winning the occasionally class in group etc I would have missed out on the last 6 shows were he has won 1BIS, 1RUIS, 2BIG, 3RUIG. I am proud to show this boy to these achievements even if he never gets enough points to get his Grand. I love to win as much as the next person but I took a huge step back recently and went "f*ck this, this is meant to be fun and I am going to have fun" and I have had the best time going to shows since. Doesn't matter if we lose because my friends might win and I am thrilled to be a part of their wins and to cheer them on. I would continue to show if it went back to the old, old system and there was no Grand Championship title at all but that's probably just me.
