:D that would be shocking From memory that exhibitor was told that she should blacken the dogs toenails. Now the Standard for the breed does call for black nails but it also says: Faults: Any departure from the foregoing points should be considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree and its effect upon the health and welfare of the dog. I hardly think that the dog would be in a predicament if it's nails weren't black :D

Suspected is a long way from knowing so I would put up or shut up.

First shows that will offer the Neuter Champion points are the 6 show weekend in Alice Springs the first weekend in July. Some of our lovely Neuter dogs will get a nice jump start to their title that weekend. If Darwin and Alice Springs can afford the extra ribbons and prices with our entry numbers I don't like the cost being a factor for bigger clubs.

Is it ok to type out your entry form? On the bottom of the entry form it says writing must be in ink, so I hand write them out. I am only new to showing so I didn't want to upset anyone by printing them. What comes out of my printer is ink

Pretty self explanatory really. Feel free to respond in the thread with your thoughts not just use the Poll

She has a lot of very happy customers, what's wrong with that? Nothing whatsoever, just find it amusing that's all given that one of the "happy customers" then has to denigrate other lead makers. I think you are taking this personally Ellz. No one has said "x's are better than Ellz' don't buy from her buy from x" I'm sure those that have your leads will comment if/when they see this thread, Rajacadoo did I thought? Similarly a member would come in and let us know if a product wasn't up to scratch if that was the case.

Love the Quality of Luscious Leads, I have two that were made for Warley but didn't suit her needs and they are awesome. So strong, can never see them falling apart

Princess Rosie is titled and the other youngsters are well over half way each

Bumping up. Have worked out how much the entries will be but still excited.

I went snooping through Sandra's kennels today and took 3 rather handsome Whippet boys for a run out in the front yard on lead. I think we have some new (older) prospects for the upcoming hound club show

At least something is happening instead of NOTHING

It's good for us being so small. Being one judge judging we rotate the judging order. Group 1 first this week Group 2 first next week etc

Hey there, Has anyone repainted a trailer with heat reflective paint?? The trailer is white which reflects some heat on it's own but there are specific heat reflective paints out there that we are thinking of respraying the trailer with. Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience doing this? Also, if you have, what brand of paint it was and if it stuck well to the surface? Thanks, Megz

I agree but it sure would stop the whinging. It's not like moving it a week either side is a big deal, it would be done well over a year in advance anyway. You can't please those that want to complain I suppose.
-
But what stops the club from not holding their show that weekend??? There is nothing stopping them from moving a week either side of their current date. I know when I was on Council the National shows were requested over a year in advance giving the clubs within that 1000km's the chance to alter their dates as not to disadvantage their exhibitors.

Just skimmed through the April - May Gazette. There are 2 shows in there. Yep once you take out breed shows and all the obedience and agility there are only 2 champ shows. I'll take every opportunity I can get to show my dog locally thanks, that's the point. If there was a Breed show on the mainland somewhere in those 2 months that would mean we only get 1 show! I know this sounds like just whinging and moaning but I think we do have a point, even if not everyone sees or agrees with it, it doesn't make it any less valid. And everyone keeps bringing up WA and Darwin... they would fall outside the km radius wouldn't they? You think you have a small number of shows?? From September to March we have 1 show a month, of any description - be it Specialty or Championship. Perhaps the clubs could have moved the show to a weekend either side of the National instead of having it on the same weekend, if there as few shows as us, and the Nationals give you plenty of notice of when and where they will be help giving plenty of time for the club to approach TCA to have the date adjusted. There are so many ways around this rule that don't require people to feel hard done by and like they've missed out. You could try having to fork out $1000 at the minimum per weekend of showing away from home. Even to travel within our own state it is 1500km drive to the bottom of the NT. I rarely hear the NT showers complaining about the distance and logistics of showing down south, recently a GSD exhibitor sent her dog down for the Specialty, I didn't hear her complaining about freight costs one way which would have been more than the ferry costs return total.

If you want your opinion included you can always start your own poll.

One GSD female and her owner from Launceston to Melbourne one way was 195.00 (125.00 for the bitch) and a cheaper air fair coming back its was 178.00. Can only fly Virgin out of Launceston and they have limited flights weekends as the freight section is now Toll and they do not open as aften as they did.Flying out of Hobart is not so hard friends of ours took 3 to Sydney Royal all on the same flight and all three cam back on the same flight. You have Qantas and Virgin at the southern end. We can rarely get flights out of Darwin for less than $150 that is just for the person flying, then add the cost of the dog and it oftens blows out to well over $400 one way. I went to Alice Springs in March and flew. My flights cost me around $500 return and then I had to pay around the same for Harry. So just the flights put the bill over $1000, that didn't include accommodation, my hire car or the entries for the 3 shows. Harry is only a Stafford so not exactly on the big side.

I'd love to know the cost comparison of travelling with GSD's to Melbourne from Tas or Darwin. I know what it costs me to travel with dogs.

She'll just be Princess still I think, as you said the other title is a bit silly when you are a Princess. It took her 3 days to play with Dollop the first time I have no clue what the Princess will do
-
Bwaa haa, fail I'm now thinking there's a fair chance I'll title at least one of my two :D Oooh, and to make it to shows without having to change a tyre Shut up you! I counted up Rosie's points yesterday and she has 82 points Isn't that what spares are for Meg??
-
Yes we have! Gimme gimme haha I'll have one! Well Sandra wants one. I'll pm you. Yeah! Great updates too! You've been doing awesome!!

Will do my membership this pay and do the entries soon. Love this time of year!
