Not sure how, directly contradicts the ANKC. One part of the ANKC Regulations says: 4.1 Breed Classes 1. Judge all dog classes in breed. 2. Judge the dog challenge winner from the exhibits placed first, who are unbeaten, in each of the breed classes, excluding baby puppy. 3. Judge the reserve challenge winner from the balance of class winning exhibits and the second place winner from the class in which the challenge winner was entered. 4. Repeat 1, 2 and 3 in the bitch classes in breed. Why would they have that in there if it was not possible for a dog to place second in one class and first in another? That is the beaten dog scenario as I see it. This is based on memory but I believe this is a scenario that we were taught at Stewards Training one of the several times I have done it (my mum was the trainer so I attended with her I wasn't stupid also this scenario says alot more about the judge too but I have no idea who the judge was) A dog won it's class, it was then beaten in the next class. Due to steward error both dogs went in for Challenge. The original dog won challenge (what the?) and went on to win BOB, BIG and BIS. Some egg on the face when that little error was picked up. Needless to say the BIS didn't stand. Not sure I understand... what I typed is in line with section 2 of ANKC? or do you mean they still compete in all the classes they enter, but if they are beaten in any, they cannot go into the challenge line up? I just did the steward training... it's all fairly fresh but I am happy to be corrected.. *Dog is entered in Minor and Puppy class - Dog comes first in Minor but second in Puppy and therefore cannot compete in the challenge line up in either class Please correct me if I am wrong!! You wrote "In WA if you enter more than one class and you are beaten in any of those classes you are then knocked out for the rest." I read this as competing in existing classes. So Second in Minor and then unable to compete in Puppy. We could be on the same page just I read it wrong

I have sussed it all out. I have some very busy days! I have worked out which Specialties I want to see versus what day some breeds are on. Luckily I have a car to borrow for the few weeks!

Actually if you are beaten in Minor you can still compete in the other classes, you are just not eligible to compete for Challenge. We used this to our advantage when we had several Whippet bitches to show, they eliminated each other whilst still giving us the chances in each class in group at that level. Hi Ceilidh, I think you may find that multiple class entries does not apply to all states. If I am wrong there will be plenty to let me know about it. I think it is a state by state thing, it's allowed in the NT but clubs discourage it by charging $25 per additional class per dog.
-
No offense intended - but I like my table
-
Ahh my favourite rule. In our circumstances we had several Whippet bitches, two rings and the main two handlers were split. Someone handed the handler the wrong dog for the Intermediate class. The dog was exhibited in this class and was only when they went to get to NT Bred that they realised the mistake. In our rules this means that the bitch that was judged in the Intermediate class (actually the NT Bred) is disqualified from further competition as it was exhibited in a class it was not entered in. Also the actual Intermediate bitch could not be judged as the class had already been judged and our rules stipulate that a class cannot be rejudged. Is this the scenario you mean??

No Double Points For Class In Breed Wins In Risingstar
-Megz- replied to Keshwar's topic in General Dog Discussion
No double points for Class in Breed surely does not mean no double points for Class in Show? She didn't say it doesn't, just that if a person gets a In Show with 1000+ entries they deserve the double points. -

Troy, I guess my issue was that I only discovered this after entering my results. It not immediately obvious that this is the case. Perhaps if there was a statement, saying "does not apply to class in breed", on the results entry page under Rising star where it currently states: <-- Tick box if total entry was 1000 dogs or greater (Double points apply for shows with entries of 1000 dogs or greater). Perhaps you should consider reading the rules prior to entering the competition each year. There was a discussion about the updates to the rules once they were posted for all to see. IMO you have nothing to take issue with when you enter a competition blindly without knowing the rules in full first. ETA: Not sure how much clearer it can be than this http://www.dogzonline.com.au/showdog2011/r..._risingstar.asp Red writing with a little "New" icon next to it. -
A big hurdle is our location. Being in Darwin and so far away, the freight costs scare people off.

They are Pointers. My PM's are off. Feel free to email me: [email protected]

Pups are definitely registered and I've been told the price is cheap. There have been a couple of breeders mention that they would point a couple of people in our direction but nothing yet. All but one person that has been in contact has ended up with a pup - 4 enquiries total. It's sad, they are such delightful puppies.

Hey there all, Just wanted some thoughts on this. We had a litter late last year, 10 in the litter and thus far only 3 have been sold. They are coming up to 4 months old now and being a bigger breed having 7 puppies is getting a lot to handle. The owner is fine with them and they have heaps of room it's just the age group and having so many they terrorise each other so have to be split into smaller groups rather than all playing together. They are advertised on DOL and we had some contact that way, we also had adverts put in the paper a couple of times with little to no success. What other advertising options are there? Thanks

I am taking a Stafford and a Beagle, i am fairly confident that a groom on Friday evening will get them through but also did the "hmmm what if..."

I am heading off for less than two days to a weekend with three shows. Taking two dogs. What would you take for such a quick trip? I started a list and it was getting a little long to fit in my suitcase
