  1. I show in my normal show outfit x3 Rain, hail, shine - I am there
  2. Assuming would be the key word in your post because your LARGE assumption has bought about a whole lot of what ifs that you have no further information to guess at. 84 Dogs = commercial dog farmer with badly socialised dogs Companion animals should only be bought up in family homes? What a load of shit. I speak from personal experience when I say that a person can have a large number of dogs and have the BEST temperaments you could ask for. Not all people with a big number of dogs cage them, they may have kennels but a kennel environment does not instantly equal caged. The large kennel I am very familiar with has kennels at the back of the house, there are 4 large runs that open to approx. .5 - 1 acre each and then a few smaller runs in between (all with undercover and grassed sections) for the smaller dogs or when bitches are in season. These dogs have rock solid temperaments and are not heavily socialised outside of the house, not all are destined for the show ring and more than half have lived their entire life with one family. More than half (I would say more than 3/4's) of these dogs have never had/sired a litter. I would also guess that the average age of these dogs is pushing closer to 8-10 years of age. Tell me again how terrible this is? I know if I was to come back as a dog I'd want to be owned by this terrible, terrible person. Why so many dogs? For the love of them perhaps westiemum? Again with the "caged animal" assumption God these threads crack me up, oh because the odds (from where?) say he's likely to be a dog farmer he just is? Alyosha - I love seeing photos of the big Foxhound/Beagle packs, just gorgeous!!
  3. My coat gets an outing tonight
  4. My friend has always had 50 plus, the number is gradually dropping as the average age is getting higher but for me it's not unusual. 84 would be too many for me though To me, condition of the dogs is more important than the quantity.
  5. OK So my 8 month old bitch Stafford is due into season, she's starting to show some signs and that's all good. Just wanted some ideas on keeping my guys apart. I have an entire Beagle as well and he's 9 months old, currently they are spoilt rotten and sleep in our room and on the bed by the time I wake up in the morning. This cannot keep happening for the next few weeks for obvious reasons. I have the option to send the Beagle to his breeder for the few weeks but we'd prefer not to, we have considered using our trailer but I'm concerned of the heat issue (it would be undercover and with fans but this is Darwin). We also have crates and could crate both but I can see that getting loud as our Beagle is a bit of a mouth. What do you do if you have entire males and females together if you are away for the majority of the day? Just hoping for some brilliant idea that I haven't thought of really
  6. Too busy sitting around in it and admiring my new threads!!
  7. There was a parcel card in the mail today - fingers crossed for tomorrow.
  8. I don't think it's any one thing that makes me nervous. I have always shown for other people more than myself. That adds nerves for me as I want to do my best for other people. Then there are the dogs I own that I show, they are all from Breeders that I respect and love to please which again adds to my nerves. At the Royal we did well. Beagles Brockie - DCC/BOB and Junior IG (Beat his Dad, sister and brother) Ben - RDCC/RUBOB Flirt - BCC Pointer Fwarkie - BOB Vallhunds Rabbit/Abbey - BOB Murphy - RUBOB Staffords Slater - BCC/BOB and Minor Puppy IG (Beat another female and two males including my boy) Harry - DCC/RUBOB, Aust Bred IG and Aust Bred IS  The Gundog Specialty was yesterday and Fwarkie got BOB got knocked out for his class so I took him in to all the property classes, he won Best Head, Best Gait and helped me win Handlers :D :D
  9. That even after 17 years of showing I still get as nervous as ever. Just my moment just before Stafford judging at the Darwin Royal
  10. Brockie beat his Dad, Sister and Brother for BOB!
  11. I prefer challenge certificates  The blingy'er the better'er ;)
  12. Tomorrow is a public holiday here so I doubt it
  13. Great news , what colour mat did you get?????? I got black and purple, my friend ordered a blue just over the weekend
  14. Everyone was raving about my mat today when I set up at the Darwin Royal
  15. I'm getting antzy cause the show starts tomorrow
  16. That was like mine too and stuff takes forever to get here normally!! Super impressive
  17. ohnoes!! HAHAHAHA I'll have to see how it plays out. I don't like the possibility that non-friends will "like" and thus share your profile on their page and you have no control over this and/or the comments that come from it. To me that's the dog world though so meh...
  18. I think I scared the shit out of Fwarkie, I had just said to Nikki, so if he gets the group that's the Grand? Yup... Judge gets him to go around, gave it to him and we all went off! Scared the crap out of the judge too, she didn't know what she'd done
  19. So proud of that dog and his owners/handlers!
