If you get the microchip number, you can ask your vet to check its age, as vets can access the chip information. including the name and address and phone number of the owners............as for having lost the paperwork no problem there, get a change of ownership form from your local council and when you meet them all they have to do is sign it as their signature and the chip number is all thats needed to transfer it

From what I read, its $15 per pup for the initial logging in of the pups microchips recorded in the breeders name and then $7.50 for first transfer to the new owner. But for a one pup no discount for the transfer as they dont recognise that as a litter. so the income for a 2 pup "litter" is $45 and for a singleton they make $30. in the case of ten singleton "litters" thats $300 .. or for more accuracy 20 singleton pups (same number as ten two pup litters.) will cost their breeder $600, Compared to only $450 income for ten two pup (total 20 pup's) litters? Really Major saving for the big litter breeds. considering it is all done online by the mug breeder there is no staff input to either transaction

Sadly the shortage of puppies has had another effect. a broken hearted puppy owner posted photos of their baby puppy with its mum. To report someone had broken into the breeders home and taken not only mum and the whole litter. but the other female as well. The only dog left behind was the sire of the litter. the pups were not even 6 weeks old so neither microchipped or vaccinated. They asked everyone to share hoping someone might sight the missing mum and the puppies. I would gladly post the photos. but the one thing I hate about faceplant is the incredible difficulty of finding a post if it gets lost. I clicked share and instead it dissappeared, so must have clicked the wrong side of the mouse and no matter how hard I just cant find it again. They were red, quite a dark red, not sure if cocker spaniel but think they were. wasn't show groomed so not positive which spaniel breed. lost it before could get a better look so be careful if you have puppies. I do not have any puppies advertised for sale but am getting from three to five phone calls a day from people who have either had one of mine in the past or met someone with one who gave them my number. I am amazed how many people are looking for a pup.

your not alone, so so so many think to have even bred more than one litter is to have puppy farmed their girl Yet Bluey had 8 "litters" and lived to 17 in great health and arthritis free, well until she decided to help stringy take on a snake one day and was gone before we could get them to the vet. lost track of how many have said to breed a second litter to the same sire is just puppy farming, completely ignorant to the fact that every puppy bred by the same parents is a different throw of the gene dice. The best can turn up in the first litter or the last and no way of knowing until comparing the pups. to breed so few is te massively reduce selection for the gene pool. To even come close to getting a true sample of what a sire and dam can produce you need some 50 to 100 siblings to see a range of the combinations possible to select from, the breeders of old knew this, hence the large kennels with many dogs to select from. Today the ability to do so is already comprised by lack of finances to repeat that. Without the fact that today laws are being constantly redrafted to prevent if at all possible. Few understand that. Go to the library and find the books on genetics and see the stats on the numbers needed for option selection from for the next generation to maximise genetic diversity. . Also what the purebred pedigree breeders seem to completely forget is the massive gene pool of unregistered purebreds to be found for the puppy farms to draw from. They dont need your certificated purebred puppies to stock their kennels anyway. Just ring the family with a litter or another puppy farm with the breed or breeds they want. Breed less registered dogs every generation, then the only place that breed can be found is the unregistered ones out there in barckyard and puppy farmer land. I know a lady with over 200 purebred Cavaliers and Poodles. Was once an ankc member but became fed up the the harassment and snobbery, Decided pet people are far nicer. so another lost. Last I saw her she had three ex greyhound properties with licences for from 140 to 170 dogs. Millionaire now too. You will never find her in the phone book or an add. All sales are solely from word of mouth. Today both these women would be targeted, both were pensioners who gladly bred their girls to supply pet people with puppies, keeping the pick for themselves to show and title and thus earn "pin money" to supplement their pensions. All puppies they were proud to put their prefix on were sold on main register so could continue their lines if the puppy owner became interested in joining and registering a prefix... below standard, went as pets with a certificate of their pedigree but not for breeding. The modern ankc member seems unaware there are actually three classes of a litter... show and breed, breeding quality, (as Scratch mentions) and pet. not to be bred from. Now unless you A - show B - dont breed except for your self C - dont sell on main register D - dont have more than 1 or 3 litters at most you are highly at risk of being targeted for elimination and humiliation.
