The problem lies with the people who did not realise they had any risks to weigh up and lose the plot when its their pet that is the unlucky one. The fact a percentage of vets do not give them that information at all , then what gets me is some tell the heartbroken owners that "its the breeders fault? Demand a refund or replacement." another reason to give up breeding, yet people need pets and somehow i don't think domestic dogs and cats or we who love them would be thrilled about PETA planning their extinction. Doubt it? it has its own thread in the news section. interestingly no one has bothered to make a comment, why? because even here the chant is to adopt not shop. with no realisation if all breeding is eliminated, surprise, surprise there went even be any for the rescues . As for the vets who think the only good pet is a desexed one, wonder where they think their clients will find a pet in the future? Let alone any clients , perhaps go back to uni and acquire Dr, to add to their BV.Sc A quick squizz of adoption offers isn't a promising list of breeds to be found. Suspect in future if you have a loved pet, keep saving up to have it cloned if you dont want to end up on a massive waiting list or cant even find a waiting list. Barbara Striesand did just that when she lost her favourite dog. Interesting future

They are working sled breeds, very independent and many are wonders at getting out, friends daughter in law races them and she doesn't even bother with fences, they are in roofed, concrete floored kennels. In Alaska they are on individual chain and kennel setups. they love to work and they love to have a job. They have been bred for sled work not family pets or herding so very different temperament compared to German shepherd, different as chalk to cheese. A cavalier is very interesting breed. devoted as a German shepherd and very trainable, but no initiative. Fascinating demo by a chap to show the difference in the herding breeds with initiative and the cavalier with little to none, with all three dogs CDX, a Kelpie, a German shepherd and a cavalier. Put a treat under a can and told all three it was ok to eat it. the Kelpie and the German shepherd hit the can so hard it was still in the air as they ate the treat. The Cavalier circled the can perplexed at how to access the treat. then he put all three at sit and stay. dropped a light tablecloth over each of the three and called come. both the Kelpie and the shepherd came at the run with cloth flying off them. the cavalier? turning in circles looking for the way out? any breed will develop injuries if allowed to jump at a young age, friends lab puppy she bred its owners let it jump off a veranda and it fractured both elbow joints. Looks like you have already decided The Kelpie, German Shepherd and the Cavalier have in common the strong desire to please you. As my friends daughter in law commented, her sled dogs desire is what can you do to please me? and being allowed to run in harness is their idea of heaven so they are happy doing what she loves too, flying along the trails. Actually, another breed that will lift that paw and eventually ask you, "Whats in this for me? is the Chihuahua. Very independent thinkers. notorious for being hard to house train, love dark places under furniture, (what u cant see you cant get upset over) especially when its raining. good luck, fortunate you are experienced

Scotty from Marketing wants the WTO to enforce an avenue of appeal?
asal replied to asal's topic in In The News
Found on fb "The WA Government has *fixed* the rspca debacle but are being a little bit tricky about it. In 2019 they took prosecution powers away from the rspca and now the Police do all animal cruelty prosecutions. The WA Government has never officially told the public they had stripped the rspca Inspectors of their powers, surely the public have a right to know the reasons why this radical decision was made? Now the rspca can only investigate, and prepare a brief, then the decision to prosecute or not is made by the Police. Consequently there have only been 5 or 6 genuine cruelty cases each year since 2019. So different to the hundreds of (vexatious and invented) cases Inspector Amanda Swift was pushing through the courts every year, prior to 2019. Swift has now been retrenched, she should have been prosecuted for malfeasance (abuse of power) but as usual the government, once caught out, just swept it all under the carpet and made the necessary changes to ensure the rspca would never have prosecutorial powers again. All without telling the public that one of the largest charities in Australia had stuffed up so badly that they were kicked out - there were no consequences for the rspca though, no charges were laid on the Inspectors who abused their powers for decades. Hundreds, maybe thousands of animal welfare cases were put through WA Courts prior to 2019, all of which were illegal! No attempt by the WA govt to examine and overturn those illegal prosecutions, nope, just forget about them, and move on. Nobody suffered any consequences for their illegal actions!" one state finally. how long before the other six stop the nightmare of abuses of power? -
Woman dies in Qld after being attacked by 3 dogs

These images of them is on the net. appears to be golden smooth-coat with dark muzzle n golden smooth-coat without dark muzzle. certainly solid head . well equipped to the job done. Frankly looking at them you couldn't pay me enough to go near them. I know the saying is " blame the deed not the breed" . But whatever they are, those heads were build to tear anything to pieces. I've been bitten to the bone by three of a friends dogs when I had to crate them in an emergency to get her to hospital. but their deed ability to tear me to pieces was severely restricted by the fact they were chihuahuas who thought I was trying to steal them I think. the deed is greatly influenced by their ability to do damage too many forget. -

So tragic, that poor, poor woman. Condolences to her family. three articles name a breed or breeds including the original link actually? But without photos it could be anything, n as accurate as the link below? one link included a video on how to avoid an attack which I thought would be helpful, so many people dont know the video supplied by the AVA. https://www.news.com.au/national/queensland/news/queensland-woman-mauled-to-death-by-dogs-in-maryborough/news-story/3cda4c313b1c7e01016d6f309052b524 as for the rest of the news below the video ?. well according to it they were loose on the street? so much for accurate reporting -
Nearly choked om my breakie this morning. Our dear Prime Minister is appealing to the World Trade Organisation, to step up to the plate as an avenue of appeal when other nations cancel imports despite adhering to the rules in place for said goods being exported from Australia. No two guesses what nation is leaving millions in value goods stuck and causing millions in losses to Australia's export Industry. So why am I incredulous? well none of our politicians are willing to create let alone enforce an ombudsman as an avenue of appeal when the overzealous, answerable to no one to date, rspca inspectors take your pets. Its the courts only, by then of course the court costs will send the target bankrupt or have to sell whatever they have. But Scotty wants the WTO to step up to the plate as world ombudsman? I heard that a not so minor miracle has occurred in WA The WA government has stripped the rspca of their powers of prosecution and handed it back to the Public Prosecutor. Apparently nothing has been declared publicly . But the person who told me, said the prosecution cases have dropped from the hundreds per year to 5. Apparently it was triggered by the case of the stolen Borzoi, that the owner was vindicated, won her case and the magistrate ordered the dogs return. Except the rspca inspector involved loaded her on a plane and sent her to SA to be adopted. She was not charged with contempt of court, in fact the pollies pardoned her? The only good outcome is she has been stood down. BUT apparently it was the trigger to the status quo finally being returned to the Public Prosecutor in W.A. Now we only have every other state to hopefully fall into place and strip all the other rspca state bodies from using their own solicitors instead of the Public Prosecutors in their respective states. Which it had always been the case. I never understood why the Public Prosecutors or the Magistrates refuse to let them, when the change meant the people being prosecuted were then subject to blackmail, "plead guilty or we will destroy you financially." This subject was directly addressed by Leon Mills, a retired Public Prosecutor some 11 years ago. To so many's dismay his well written submission was ignored by the NSW Government? Why? Just what is the agenda of treating the rspca like a sacred cow? " 3rd June 2010 The Honorable Members General Purpose Standing Committee No.5 Inquiry into the R S P C A raid on the Waterways Wildlife Park Dear Members, My full name is Leon Andrew Mills and I have resided in Gunnedah since 1982, I moved to Gunnedah as a result of my applying for the Police Prosecutors position for the Gunnedah Local Court Circuit. I continued in that position until my retirement in 2006. In 2008 I stood in the Local Government elections and was successful in gaining office as a Gunnedah Shire Councillor. I am still in that position today. The two submission I would like the Honorable Committee to consider are that the compliance section of the RSPCA 9RSPCA Inspectors) be disbanded and that all the duties that they try to perform in relation to the investigation and brief preparation for alleged offences under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979 (the Act), be given to sworn Constables of the NSW Police Force in particular the Rural Crime Unit. My second submission is that all prosecutions under the Act be done by Police Prosecutors in the Local Court jurisdiction. RSPCA Inspectors obtain their powers s a result of being issued an Authority under .section 4D(2) of the Act. In relation to this Inquiry it is clear that Inspectors Prowse and French have no idea of their powers. I say that on this basis, the Act is clear in relation to what an inspector can do and is set out in Division 2 of the Act. On the Friday following the taking of the Koalas a report was broadcast on the 6.30am local A B C News that Officer Prowse said the reason for taking the Koalas was that they were “stressed”. There is no power under the Act to take an animal that is stressed. It alledging distress, as referred to in Section 24H subsection (5) of the Act, there is no evidence at all that any of these animals were suffering debility, exhaustion or significant physical injury. To support what I am submitting, the Honorable Committee would note that the Officers examined the Koalas at about 10.30-11am. They gave no treatment to these Koalas from that time until after 4.30pm, why? There was nothing wrong with them, and of course we are talking about Officers that would be expected to take immediate action if an animal was suffering debility, exhaustion or significant physical injury. These two Officers had to do something and they illegally removed these Koala for the sole purpose of the T V show R S P C A Animal Rescue. To further support this submission the head of the R S P C A Mr Steve Coleman said no proceedings would be taken against Nancy Small as a result of community outrage. I completely reject this statement. As a former Police Prosecutor of 28 years both in the city and country on rare occasions there is community outrage when some proceedings are taken. I have never before heard of proceedings for a criminal matter being abandoned or not brought because of community outrage. The reason there were no proceedings brought was that there was nothing wrong with these animals. Offences under the act are Criminal. Officers French and Prowse were supposed to be “investigating” this matter. It is interesting to note the quality of this so called investigation. No interview with Nancy Small or any other carers of these Koalas. No exhibits such as, stool samples, feed provided in the Koala enclosure, photos for identifications of each Koala, no tagging for identification. When one looks at the R S P C A Seizure Notice re this matter S N 010 16 the Officers have not even identified the Koalas to the extent of their sex. This so called investigation is absolutely pathetic and shows the quality of how RSPCA inspectors carry out their duties. The N S W police have a branch now called the Rural Crime Unit these branches operated both in the city and country. They are staffed by sworn Police who have been fully trained in investigation techniques. Many of these Officers are fully trained Detectives. It would be my respectful submission that these officers should take over the compliance section of the R S P C A. Of course it would require extra staff and resources. It would be my suggestion that appropriate funding could be transferred from the funding the State Government gives to the R S P C A to the Police Budget. Another benefit of a transfer to Police is that all Police investigations are subject to review by independent authorities such as the Ombudsman or I C A C. This is not the case with R S P C A inspectors, they answer to no one other than themselves. On the 18th of February last I attended the local branch meeting of the R S P C A as the head of the organization Mr Steve Coleman was attending. During the course of the meeting he answered a number of questions re the Waterways incident. Mrs. Dodd asked him a question being, “who can I complain to”, Mr Coleman’s response was “the Chief Inspector of the RS S P C A”. From a community point of view in this day and age it is totally unacceptable that we have an organization such as this that when a complaint comes in they investigate themselves. The subject Koalas were living in a happy well cared for environment when they were illegally removed by Inspectors French and Prowse. One of the females had a baby Koala in her pouch that Mrs Small was aware of. I have been told that the R S P C A Inspectors became aware of this fact over the 48 hours following their removal. One of the other Koalas was an elderly female that Mrs Small has described as the “Old Lady”. Mrs Small has never denied that this Koala was elderly and whilst ever in good health could live out her days in the Koala Enclosure. Both these Koalas that were supposed to being cared for by Inspectors French and Prowse are now dead so I ask this question what investigation has the RSPCA done in relation to the deaths of these Koala or am I correct in assuming that when an animal dies because of the ignorance or lack of care by that inspector no investigation takes place. This is another example as to why the Police should take over these responsibilities so that when this type of incident occurs it can be properly investigated or reviewed by an appropriate authority. I referred earlier in this document to the fact that prior to my retirement I was the police Prosecutor for the Gunnedah Court Circuit. During the 1980’s and 1990’s and in some cases still to this day besides representing Police informants in Court Police prosecutors represent many other entities, for example, Probation and Parole, National Parks and Wildlife, D O C S, Roads and Traffic Authority and the RSPCA. Over the years until about 2000, every so often I would receive a brief from an RSPCA Inspector who would be the informant usually in more than one information. If the matter was a “not guilty” plea I would present the case on behalf of the informant. If the offence or offences were proved some costs would be sought by the Informant that would usually be for witness expenses and any fodder that may have been required to give to the animals in question. No Legal professional costs were ever sought. In addition a fact I feel is relevant is that Police Prosecutors DPP Prosecutors and Crown Prosecutors have a duty to place all the evidence before the Court. Each carries a custodial penalty of 2 years imprisonment. True there is a difference in the monetary penalty but goal is the most severe penalty for a Criminal Offence. A common assault is one where the victim suffers no serious injury. For some reason the Parliament does not view aggravated cruelty as a serious offence at law. The RSPCA since about 2000, to my knowledge, have been engaging private solicitors to conduct their prosecutions and one might ask why did they move to this system. It is my submission that this practice should cease and that Police Prosecutors should conduct the prosecutions for the RSPCA. I say that on this basis. By engaging private Solicitors or barristers there is no obligation on them to place before the Court evidence that may disadvantage their case. Legal and Professional Costs come into play. If their prosecution is successful they would ask for these costs. It seems unbelievable that recently in one of their prosecutions at Narrabri an amount in excess of a quarter of a million dollars was sought for costs in a matter heard in the Local Court, and as I said before, an offence not serious at law. In conclusion it is my humble opinion that inspectors French and Prowse have no knowledge in respect to their obligations under the Act and it is clear they see their careers more in the field of TV and to add insult to injury when asked a question by myself about the TV show RSPCA Animal Rescue and their role in this incident when he attended Gunnedah on the 18th February last, Mr Coleman’s explanation was and I quote, “the Officers had been on another job with them and when they said they were going to Gunnedah the crew said we might just tag along” end quote. I informed him that I did not accept that explanation at all. It’s a sad situation when the head of such an organization is trying to assist the coverup. Yours faithfully Leon Mills Councilor Gunnedah Shire Council " Failing the decades of refusing the appointing of an appeals ombudsman at least the return to they must hand their brief over to the public prosecutor as was the case in the past. Far fairer outcome for those targeted by this organisation. So why did I choke? poor scotty wants justice, yet denied to thousands of pet owners by who? our pollies.

I made the initial post because as the FDA noted. Pet owners need to make an informed decision. That some dogs and cats will have reactions to this drug. Thus it is then their decision to decide if they wish to do so. Knowing that some do die. Its no different to the years ago when vets began using injectable Ivomec although it was not passed as safe to use in horses. On average one to three out of a hundred can die or be very ill. My friend ran an agistment place. There were 113 horses on the property, all agistee's agreed to the vet injecting the wormer into their horse. They were watched for any reactions then released back into their paddocks. Next morning two were found dead and my friends filly was very off her feed and ill, she took three weeks to recover. My own vet for over two years refused to administer it because he considered the risk too high, but after losing lots of clients who wanted it done, Did do horses for clients who were prepared to take the risk. I even asked him to do my stallion True Blue as he hated both the tube drench and worming paste. We only did it the once, he scared they daylights out of both of us. Staggering to the side and choking for what seemed like forever just as the vet removed the needle. In his case it turned out he really was choking, he had been munching some feed to keep him interested in other than the injection and stupid choked on the chaff. But my vet said he had two literally drop dead after the injection. both had been very old and their owners were prepared to risk it. As for my vet, he found any death very traumatic personally. He hated having to do it even though when he first gave up and began administering it he had done over 200 and was beginning to think maybe the deaths had been unrelated after all, before one died. To many its just routine practice. still have not found the list I lost but this is the FDA link warning pet owners to be aware of the possible side affects before they make the decision to use the product Issued 2020 https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/animal-health-literacy/fact-sheet-pet-owners-and-veterinarians-about-potential-adverse-events-associated-isoxazoline-flea This one seems to be in bigger print, but cant find the issue date https://blog.theanimalrescuesite.greatergood.com/fda-fleas/

no idea who you are talking about, I never said anything about cheese. went checking, thats in a post I copied written by and owner frantic to try and save their pet. Author Posted April 12 (edited) (considering the blood brain barrier once crossed, there is no antidote for this drug. if enough gets through death is inevitable. all you can do is pray its not enough to kill.) Lots of speculation about why does it cross the blood brain barrier in some dogs and cats, but not others) well three pups are dead that were bred by my friend after being given bravecto, one survived. that was when bravecto was first the new new beaut better than anything else on the block when it was released. since that happened to my friends litter, ive warned anyone who bought a puppy from me so at least they will know what to expect if they use it. have been lucky until now. this year two pups I bred have died now, in both cases the vets have told the owners its my fault? Interesting that. one chap had his full of life no health problems, ten year old dead in a week after his vet gave him nexguard. all the standard reaction, drooling fitting and brain damage. the vet denies the nexguard was responsible. As you said no scientific evidence. just coincidence all three are dead? no prior health problems I well know how stressful ticks are, you also need to look in ears and up inside the nose too. been there there too. well the dead ones will never get ticks again. just as all my dead himalayan kittens will never get sick or ticks, I am still furious that neither the vaccine manufacturer or my vet owned up it was a faulty batch of vaccine that killed them let alone return what I paid for the doses that killed them as for compensation for 8 beautiful kittens with their whole life ahead of them, that were worth. $1800 each. interesting how quickly vets tell you to sue the owner if something goes wrong with a pup but the silence is deafening when they kill you pet? Was sheer fluke I learned about the faulty batch that killed 600 cats and kittens before the remainder was recalled. Link to someone suing them in the US https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/consumer-products/pet/bravecto-class-action-says-meds-arent-safe-for-pets/ There is an FDA list of dosages per year and percentage of deaths. So the FDA is aware a percentage are affected but lost the page and now cant refind it. will post when I do.

Also ignores the fact domestic dogs have been domesticated for tens of thousands of years doing exactly that and and benefited by being far better fed than those in the wild. exactly my vets opinion and as he said experience with 40 years in practice. As for the newbie vets, the majority it seems cant wait to desex every pup they see come into the surgery, the sooner the better. He calls the newbies, "licenced now, to learn at your expense" anyway its only opinion and discussion. the die has been cast and little chance of change in any form

very true. no ankc member should ever breed but to replace the parents for themselves. or your what? a business/puppy farm. eliminate, eliminate let the business puppy farms be where people can find a pet. and they are. in droves but even the x breeders cant supply the shortfall because they are dead enders too. My niece just paid $7,000 for her precious blue merle cavoodle already desexed at 8 weeks fur baby. umm since when was merle or blue to be found in that x? only the true backyard family dogs scattered in homes by the tens millions will be where pet people can find a pup that isn't going to cost them 5,000 to 10,000 n up each and they will never get POCTA inspected although they can adopt instead of shop. as long as they are happy with the fact the majority are not the breed or temperament they actually want. friends daughter dumped her "rescue" with her mum after it trashed her place, Wonder if that's why it ended up in the rspca kennels? got out and spent the next 2 hours trying to kill her three horses. only the fact the one in 60 year floods were going through her property made it a little more difficult for it to tear them apart as she had to swim after them as they fled into deeper and deeper water while my friend frantically tried to call and catch her. only after exhaustion tempted her to seek ground so she didn't drown gave her the chance to catch her. as for the horses? noses, chests, sides, necks, flanks and legs torn and punctured. the dog was having a wonderful fun time. she believes they only survived because she had three to tear at so the sum total of damage was spread between the three, saved them from being fatal if her attention had been solely on one in the time frame before exhaustion had finally caused her to head back out of the water. Frankly think its a pity one of the three had not been a dog killer. Soon as she could get it in the car it was at the vets and euthanised. the breed? ah yes never blame the breed, only the deed. trouble is, am staffs are not only cute and affectionate to humans, are also beautifully built to inflict massive damage if the opportunity presents. the horses? all needed antibiotics, stiches and ongoing attention due to the higher infections rate due to the flood water complications, but survived and now she has a few thousand in vet bills to pay off her credit card, well it passed their temperament test? Obviously not checked on its behaviour to large animals though. How did it get out? Spotted the horses after daughter and her kids had left, was strong and heavy enough to buckle the gate to get out and play. Suspect daughter nor mother will ever adopt instead of shop again unless its the small breed they wanted in the first place, trouble is there is precious few of that ilk to be found to adopt

they aren't. The difference is the ankc crumbled to the pressure of the peta loonies and changed in the stupid belief it would placate them and the fur children people who know zilch about dog reproduction. As my vet said when he learned of the new rules , well they obviously didn't bother to consult any reproduction vets first. in the "bad" old days bitches had their puppies while young and retired before they were old enough to start producing downs syndrome puppies, yep, it happens in dogs too as the mum aged. but hey we have to placate the loonie tunes they have the pollies ear. In the race to embraced so many stupid things in their eagerness to be seen to be "ethical" and "responsible" along with never sell with main register in case the puppy falls into the hands of a puppy farm, along with never breed to supply anyone with a pet, thats just being a multiplier. only breed a litter to replace the parents. Well that's gone well. precious few can access a purebred so continual loss to the tune of tens of thousands of less members, tens of thousands of less puppies born along with I suspect 90% of what is born goes on limit register. as for the percentage that are desexed before they are three months old? 22.03 million (2010) 23.82 million (2015) 25,771,295 The current population of Australia is 25,771,295 as of Thursday, June 3, 2021, based on Worldometer elaboration of the latest United Nations data. since according to this " 48 per cent Among pet-owning individuals, dogs are by far the most popular. Almost 72 per cent of pet-owning people – which is 48 per cent of all Australians – have a dog." whare are they going to find one, well unless they breed their own or clone what they have? Dog people are too busy suspecting every other ankc member is a puppy farmer to hound out of the membership, no chance of actually uniting, few seem to twig, "united we stand, divided we fall" applies? See so few sticking with each other and using our massive numbers, tens of thousands more than the loonies the pollies think they need to please to get their precious votes. Its nothing to do with animal welfare or they would not have drafted the POCTA, which is what? the blueprint for a commercial puppy farm and to which every registered breeder has to comply, just to keep it interesting the enforcers change the interpretation not only from week to week but even in the same day between visiting one place and then going to another which has caused massive stress, confusion and panic in the targeted demographic. To pass you are then officially a puppy farm? Umm wasn't it drafted to eliminate puppy farms? Yes we have come a long way, every step of it backwards in regards to the continuation of our much loved breeds, encouraging new members? (well that went out the window) the health of our breeding bitches (anyone else noticing how obese the girls run to so easily when its a year or more before they have another litter? what is the down side of obese? reduced litter size, bigger puppies as a result so higher risk of dystocia, or in the case of a some can go years to never go back in pup. As my vet said, dogs evolved to have their litters young. Along with so many breeds now with numbers so low if they were wild species would be on the critically endangered list. so much so that Peta in a radio interview on Melbourne cup week expect the extinction of the domestic dog in the lifetime of the present generation. even the ankc figures show how successful the program has proven. While our population grows our ankc breeder membership is looking a bit like heading for freefall into unsustainability of a significant number of breeds, but I think the organisation will continue as a pleasure group for dog lovers of any kind, with obedience, herding, community days for the remaining x breds that are available in far greater numbers, well so far but most of their breeders are desexing early to protect their prices so equally dead end kennels . No wonder Peta are so confidant and pleased but hey speak up and show you spotted the emperor has no clothes is darned dangerous I noticed that Peta's agenda is to move to the elimination of racehorses, have all horses decared companion animals and breeding as restricted as the dogs with extinction the agenda. then the move to cattle reproduction being restricted, The ground work is already laid, remember the, "we have to eliminate cattle methane"? conveniently ignoring feeding to reduce methane in only domesticated cattle or reducing their greenhouse contributing gasses is not addressing the fact that kg for kg every ruminant mammal is producing it, wild and domesticated. then what is being done to address the billions of homo sapiens busily producing what? methane! any spotted methane reducing food for the humans? The future is going to be an interesting place

Didnt realise so many products have it in them? Latest fb warning post I just saw. Don't use these horrible and damaging drugs on your pets. NEVER! THEY ARE POISON THAT WILL CAUSE TERRIBLE HARM TO THEM Dr. Karen Becker 8thSpoinSsoredg · A recent peer-reviewed study shows flea & tick products using the potent pesticide, Isoxazoline cause a reaction in 2 OUT OF 3 DOGS! Reactions include seizures, behavioural issues, muscular/balance issues, and even death. The pesticide can be found in products like: NEXGARD, NEXGARD SPECTRA, BRAVECTO, SIMPARICA, CREDELIO, REVOLUTION PLUS, and others. This pesticide is so powerfully potent that it starts killing within two hours after administration! In fact, it kills 98.7% of newly arriving fleas within 24 hours! Because of this, Isoxazoline drugs now carry a warning on their labels in both the U.S. and Canada. Even the FDA-U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning statement for veterinarians and pet parents. Facebook Live Sunday at 10am ET on The Forever Dog page to discuss the new study with Judy Morgan D.V.M, a veterinarian involved in the new peer-reviewed paper.️

AS for Australia's Fed Ex......................................... go pick up from their ware house if the sender uses them. no way they want to hand deliver. In the case of my daughters wedding present, do you want to risk a 2,500 dollar gift left in the grass beside your letter box? they refused to leave at post office and refused to give me a time to meet them beside my letter box. and no it is against company policy to bring to your door, its against company policy to phone you on your contact number to advise when the courier has arrived at your address. They prefer you to authorise the parcel being left in or beside your letter box............NO KIDDING! Was interesting at the warehouse pickup counter, wonder how fast the staff turnover is. having to deal with so many furious customers must be a horribly stressful job. most of the men in the waiting line wanted to punch out the hapless staff on the other side of the counter.

A NOTE ABOUT TICK-BORNE DISEASES, AND WHY CHEMICALS LIKE BRAVECTO, NEXGARD, ETC., DO NOT PREVENT THEM : We have seen a lot of our members posting about concern regarding tick disease transmission (Lyme disease, Ehrlichiosis, Anaplasmosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Babesiosis, Bartonellosis, and Hepatozoonosis) to their dogs. We have also seen a lot of our members mention that their vets suggest Bravecto, Nexgard, Simparica, etc., to prevent tick-related illness. In many cases, that is why some of our members purchased these products in the first place. But please note — the only way these chemicals work on ticks is as follows: The tick attaches to your dog, and the chemical flea/tick "preventative" that your dog has taken eventually kills the tick. According to petsandparasites.org, disease transmission is as follows: "Ticks attach to your dog by inserting their mouthparts into your dog's skin. Many ticks also produce a sticky, gluelike substance that helps them to remain attached. After attaching to your dog, ticks begin feeding on your dog's blood. The places where ticks attach can become red and irritated." Since the only way these chemical preventatives (Bravecto, Nexgard, etc.) work is by killing the tick AFTER IT HAS ALREADY ATTACHED TO YOUR DOG, these products DO NOT PREVENT tick disease. These products do not REPEL ticks. While it can take from 24 to 48 hours for a tick to spread Lyme disease from the time it attaches to a dog, it can take just 2 hours for a tick to spread Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever to a dog after attachment. For other tick-borne diseases, it can take even just minutes. (This link is useful to find out more about transmission times: https://www.consumerreports.org/.../how-quickly-can-an.../ ) There are only two ways to prevent transmission of tick disease: *REPEL ticks that exist in the environment, to stop them from attaching to your dog (using naturally based, toxin-free products) *Ensure the environment itself is tick-free. (Spray yard with natural products like Wondercide, Cedarcide, Vet's Best Yard Sprays, or other toxin-free products, if necessary. Include plants in your environment that are known to deter ticks {https://happydiyhome.com/plants-that-repel-ticks/} Of course *ALWAYS* first check to make sure the plants you choose are NOT toxic to dogs. Avoid regular chemical lawn pesticides/insecticide, as they contain known carcinogens.) There are many reasons to avoid these chemical flea/tick "preventative" products, as is seen here on a daily basis through the heart-wrenching stories of beloved furry family members suffering as a result of their use. But in addition, their lack of ability to prevent tick disease — a very important goal for any pet parent — is yet another reason to seek out natural, toxin-free alternatives.

They must be terrified of anything on the other side of a gate, my driveway is 250 m from the road so they just dump anything either in the letterbox if it will fit, or beneath it. although one, was even worse, would send me a txt that I did not answer and parcel was on its way back to the warehouse? as I was home and the phone definately had not rang i immediately called the number on the txt to be told the same story, this went on for 6 weeks and 4 so called non deliveries and texts to that effect. by then I said I will come to the warehouse and pick it up. THEN to be told, I cant, they dont know where it is? yet it was according to the txt message with the courier on its way back to the warehouse???????????????? they were called Fastway, put a comment on their internet page better name for them would be snailway. im told its been sold, no idea if the services is just as bad. did finally get it. but had to pick up at the warehouse, it was never going to arrive at my place do wonder why all of the courier companies refuse to leave at your local post office, even if you have a PO box? decided to take a look at the reviews for my non favourite company. Well nothing seems to have improved gee this is on the actual page with all the links to their reviews so no way can miss this, why do companys keep sending stuff via them? "“Fastway are the worst company I've ever had to deal with. They have no phone numbers listed and Im guessing that's so they wouldn't be in the phone all day listening to people complain about their bad service. ... Very bad customer service. I want to cry when I need to order and Fastway are the courier company.” " on the actual reviews this ones the most recent. Annabel Jameson 6 days agoNEW Got an email this morning with the classic "We're unable to deliver your parcel because no one was home" excuse. My partner and I were both in and the door was open. Been asked to go to a pharmacy and collect it but I have to bring a calling card - problem is, the driver was too lazy to even attempt to deliver my parcel so I don't have a calling card. Phoned customer services to ask what to do in this situation. I gave the tracking number and was told they couldn't find my parcel and I needed to contact the seller. I asked to speak to a manager and the customer service rep just stopped talking and ignored me. It was incredible. Aramex Sydney, you're a delivery company. You only have one job to do and that's to deliver parcels and you can't even do that properly." "Ricky Pann Despite my parcel being clearly marked with delivery instructions, the driver left my parcel on the busy street outside an abandoned shop doorway two doors down on the footpath. I spent two hours of my busy day chasing up the consignment tracking and have had no satisfaction. Never use this company, they are pathetic. They sent me a photo of the delivery taken by the driver and it wasn’t my address. Of course the package was stolen as I was not notified. Avoid this company at all costs or it will cost."

This video is remarkably similar to the description I was given during a panicked call from a family with one of mine, they woke up to him fitting and foaming. Their vet told them my dogs must have epilepsy in the lines and to send me the vet bills . the vet had given him nexguard at the checkup and last vaccination, they though he was giving him a treat, until they saw the bill included the nexguard , so beware if you breed , the vets are sending the blame to you even though have never had this happen in 42 years, that is until bravecto, nexguard and this related product the dog in the video was given came onto the market. apparently there is another product? starts with an A and has Plus after it, the same ingrediant as the previous 3 has been added to it. cant remember the name so make sure you read the packet

another priceless fb post ABComportamento Guys, I promise this isn’t another usual my-dog-on-leash-other-dog-off-leash type of post. It gets good! (Or I think it does ) The other day I was on the local public park (not a dog park, but dogs are allowed) walking Menta. We were on a high movement area, so I had her on a leash. Another dog, off leash, sees us and starts approaching. Menta wasn’t interested and started moving away, but the dog got to us before we could leave. So she politely greeted him back, they sniffed for a few seconds, all perfectly good and fine. Dog was young and wants to play, so he offers a couple of very polite play bows, but Menta declines and moves away. Dog gets the message and moves on. Quite good, right? Here comes the juicy part: As I’m leaving owner comes to me with a speech more or less like this: - Hey, if your dog is autistic and doesn’t even play with other dogs, go somewhere else! Don’t come to the park and ruin the other dogs’ days!!!!! I heard this, a wave of fury started taking over, but suddenly I think I had a lightbulb moment and switched gears completely. With the biggest, friendliest smile, I opened my arms as wide as I could and go: Ohhhhh! Come here! I want to give you a BIG hug! panic in her eyes as she backs up, speechless* Hey, don’t run, I’m so friendly, come on, I just want to give you a hug! I’m friendly, I just want to hug!!!*still speechless and backing away with terror now Wait? You don’t want my friendly hug? ....no... -neither does my dog. Have a nice day. As I walked away, I saw her just standing there, speechless, and she was leashing her dog! I think I’ll try this approach more often

the poster captioned it " Team work " anyone else with cuties like this to share

somebody finally figured it out! some really thoughtful comments on the fb page I spotted it. Because instead of self reflection and personal responsibility humans tend to form herds and blame people who they perceive as weak or threaten their own weaknesses. It happens all the time and starts from childhood bullying through to adulthood Racism, discrimination etc. It can only change if we treat self awareness as an important part of being alive and recognise herd mentality is toxic.

yes the membership of the ankc has gone from about 33,000 in 2017 to 22,000 in 2020. Just as I pointed out to Nancy and Betty, everyone who has a backyard is going to be targeted as a BYB. SO its certainly eliminated a lot of ankc members. no figures for the tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands that are not traceable members of a breed organisation.

with so many even here encouraging people to "adopt dont shop" spotted this just now on faceplant

so which states other than NSW register a litter without having to parentage verify? Be nice to know Karen isn't the only brave Chair.
-
well you cannot register any ankc litter in qld until all the puppies are parentage verified. I believe its the same in all other states other than nsw. I remember when the ankc buckled to the demands to bring it in then Karen refused to bring NSW into line with the other states correct me if im wrong.

in my opinion parentage verification is just a rip off, if you only have one male there is no doubt of the sire. and it someones mongrel got to her you surre dont need to parentage verify to know the puppies are x breds, well remember a friends girl had three purebred cattledog pups and 9 rotti x. turned out her son had been letting her out "for a run" when he got home from work. no body needed a dna test done to ascertain which 3 were the purebred cattledog pups in that litter. or they badly needed glasses. the only decent dna testing is for the faulty genes they have found the markers for. that is money well spent. https://www.orivet.com/store/canine-full-breed-profile At least Karen Hedberg BVSc. Dogs NSW Chairman knew this and refused to toe to line all the other ANKC Branches blindly followed to appease the PETA nutters. being a vet she knows which dna tests are the important ones and which are just money spinners for the dna labs. I well remember when the arab horse society enforced parentage verification in every foal for registration. only 4% were wrong parentage. 2 of that 4 % were not wrong sire. their mums had switched foals and since both mums were purebred anyway. how many millions have gone into the lab coffers to preserve the "purity" of the breed? my other foal who I knew was incorrect sire I didn't need a dna test to tell me, I knew when he was born. he was chestnut. The horse he was supposed to be by is a dominant grey. so all the parentage verification test did was validate my certainty that Ti had pulled a miracle and managed to sire him from the other side of a six foot cyclone fence? Neither Ti or his mum would tell us how they managed that one. n nope there were no missing links in the fence? only the foals colour told us who was his dad. no explanations ever given by the parties involved.
