Training this week has turned to frustration. My 18 week old pup knows sit, drop and heel but has suddenly decided “give me treats or I won’t listen” Short of giving her a good old fashion bitch slap, what can I do to get the results without the treats?

With holding food for an hour??? heaven forbid....some people!!! I think some people should have a reality check & see how a real working dog lives, it makes me shudder to think how we lived, never mind the dogs. When camping away from home, eating our mutton sandwhichs (lamb was for wusses) with sheep shit under our finger nails, sleeping in rat infested huts & the dogs got what we didn't eat. Road kill was a treat for the dogs. A good dog was worth 3 men & a bad dog........ well there wasn't any. Harsh but that was the way it was, way back then.

Ok, so bring the wallet. My old dog would turn in his grave if he knew how much I was spending on this pup. The pup gets motion sickness in the car, so if she turns up looking like she has a hangover.....................

Well I'll be buggered, the old chain was ok for the last 40 years. :p I'm heading out the door now, off to cityfarmer to buy a new lead. She must have the latest designer wear. Or do they sell them at puppy school?

martingale collar is what she has with standard chain lead.

When we first head out the gate, she's all excited & want to take off but on the return home she much better.

born 22/6/2005 so that would be 15 weeks.

Choker collars I'm starting puppy classes with Tilly on Sunday. I still have the chain lead & nylon rope choker collar that I used with my last dog at puppy school. It's 11 years old but still in good nick. Q. Is this still the standard equipment I need at puppy school?
