Apart from spending time with DOL people, the main reason I like the Rouse Hill meets is because Flame has a unique opportunity to socialise with a variety of Dogs. It lets her hone her social skills and it then becomes "no big deal" if we're out on walks and she spots another dog. I really enjoy meeting other dogs and learning about them.

I would have been upset if Belle hadn't run up to me... that little ball of muscly snugliness!
-
It would be sad if Bear or Rex had to miss out. I'll volunteer to entertain Rex on the other side of the park if he's having any issues. Every dog deserves a day out once in a while. PS - Flame will be flattered if Rex and Bear are competing for her attentions!

Hi FreyaJade - I certainly like GirlDog's eyes. I commented to Alibear how attention-grabbing they were, and she was just thinking the same thing at that same moment! The look is a bit demonic, but I like that! Here is a pic that really captures GirlDog's face nicely, especially the intense bright eyes. Jenny (JBBB) almost got a pic of GirlDog on her hind legs, but the image was captured just a moment too late. I am sure no one thought of GirlDog as a bother - I sure didn't

Hi Everyone! Jenny, Flame and I had an excellent time at Rouse Hill on Saturday, even though we had to leave early. Alibear - It was nice to see you again and I was very glad you were able to bring Bear along so I could finally meet the cute mishchief-maker He is a very snuggle-worthy little boy, and his wolfish charm won Flame over, even though she was acting aloof - a tactic to keep him interested I reckon! :D I think Bear enjoyed himself and I think the Rouse Hill meet has boosted his confidence. FreyaJade - it was nice to meet you and GirlDog is cool! Her balancing skills on her hind legs were excellent, and Flame was taking notes in order to get more proficient at this. I liked Girldogs pale eyes, which appeared to almost glow from a distance. Very captivating! Heidi - your Samoyeds made for excellent play pals. Their thick coats always intrigue me. Bailey - you know you're a very groovy Weimaraner! Nice ball retrieval skills! And such a sleek metallic coat... like something off a BMW Luxury car colour chart! :D I'd been looking forward to meeting Bear for a long time. Here are some snippets of Flame and Bear meeting and having fun, which is what it's all about. I'm certain Flame is looking forward to another play session. Until then, I will have to make do with Inspector Rex episodes! :D

Flame has stamped this with her "pawprint of approval" I know the feeling! Flame is a very puppyish 20 months old and 37KG.

Fret not Alibear! Of course Bear is a favorite! But I need to meet the little guy in person and tickle him behind the ears

Even though we cant stay as long as we'd ideally like we will be there. Flame would never forgive us if she missed out, and I know my day wouldn't be complete unless I was mobbed by numerous canines. I'm looking forward to seeing GirlDog hopefully (FreyaJade I did get your PM's - thanx for that) as well as other faves. (You know who you are)... ;) ;)

Hi FreyaJade - I'm now hyper keen to check out GirlDog! I'll have to try and do some "heredity analysis" also. :D My list of "favourite breeds" is on the increase after the recent Rouse Hill meet. Great Danes are definitely on the list! Have you got any detailed pic of GirlDog or can U point me to a previous thread that has pics?

FreyaJade, I'm really looking forward to seeing Girldog. That's your half-Dobe right?

Question: Is Bozley's tuxedo for wedding going to be a rental?
-
That's a shame, the Dally and the Wei were 2 of the most entertaining dogs around... the Dally exhibited excellent in rear-leg balance technique in return for little BBQ chicken treats I just happened to have on me ;)

Will these bells compliment the dogie T-shirts you make????

9 out of 10 dogs agree this is a good idea!!

Nsw Rotti Fun Day - Not So Much Fun
Flames_Daddy replied to Jefe's owners's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Hi Jefe's Owner. I am sorry to hear you had to endure the rantings of such ill-informed and ignorant people on what was supposed to be a fun day. Anyone who thinks a prong collar is cruel should put one on their own neck and feel what it does... that should dispell any myth about them being painful... all you feel is a minor pinch which is totally painless. The good thing is you are now prepared for "next time" - Good on you!! -
Since the training on Saturday I have done drive trianing with Flame 3 times and results are already looking very promising. Her intensity is on the rise! Fortunately I am used to having 38 KG of Dobe cannon-ball into me! Interestingly, upon winning the toy in drive, at first it took more than 5 minutes of constant helicoptor-walkies on a long leash for Flame to finally drop the toy! Has anyone else experienced this?? (I got dizzy but plenty of exercise!) By the way Flame loves her new ball-on-a-rope doorprize that I won on Saturday. She cannot get enough, which is ideal from the drive training perspective. As they say, you have to "leave your audience wanting more" Ziggy definitely had a sustained intensity on that pulltoy eh?? You can get huge performance from small packages (just look at JBBB! hehe). My response is a combination of YAY!! followed by a resounding "D'OH!"

Hi Everyone! I enjoyed seeing you all at the training. I'd like to echo Chell's comments and thank Steve for an excellent training session. Chell, I really had fun giving Artan a big pat and scratch... I was amused when the big boy "sat" on me - this is something that quite a few Dobes do - and you can feel the extra chunkiness of those cute Rotties! I saw lots of other people give this charming dog attention, which was cool! Yeah, at the end of the day we had Ziggy the "Wunder-Hund" dangling from pull-toys and growling with glee as we tugged her (and she tugged us!) side-to-side with with frenzied vigour . Thanks to Gigi for bringing her along. I'm sure Flame and Ziggy would enjoy a play-session with each other. Ziggy had Myszka's heart racing... that a lot of Dobe in a compact frame. Indeed, an absolute CLASSIC moment! Ten out of Ten! Good luck in your tip to Poland Myszka - we'll miss you - please don't neglect to bring back some Polish tasty treats! This would be appreciated since many of us are psychologically impacted by the absense of the "Helga" outfit yesterday.
