I think he is barking because he is ready to start his day....................not that you are at that time of the morning. You will find that many dogs that sleep outside are up with the birds (also dogs that are fed in the morning). They are up, so should everyone else. Personally, my two sleep inside and are fed of a night, so they are last out of bed in our house. They go out during the day when I go to work. It's a tough one....goodluck sorting it out.

I totally agree with what has been said but there is one thing that I would like to mention. If you a dealing with puppies/new dogs in class, you may well be dealing with new handlers as well. They may not know "dog etiquette" and unless they are educated by other owners and instructors they and their dogs may never learn. Politely mention to the handlers but you really need to get your instructor to reinforce this in each class. As for offending other people, they will have to "get over it" because they will be the ones that will never learn.

I can tell by the look on her face if she is going to drop......she even starts to lick her lips, so she knows she is doing the wrong thing. I yell "sit" and she does. So she must be relying on the second cue to reinforce the sit But the most frustrating thing is that she is solid 99% outside the ring and 0% inside. We vary the stay times from "out and back" to three mins.

Solid as a rock at training but I think she is used to me correcting her now by reinforcing the "stay"before she drops.

My ESS bitch has discovered she can drop while in a sit stay. This only happens when she is in the ring and yesterday she added a new chapter to the story. By the time I was at the other side of the ring she was down but when it was time to return, she sat back up. Very clever I thought. Any suggestions please???

I tend to agree with Greymate in relation to the difference between not liking other dogs and fear aggresion. It's a problem you need to deal with, not only for your dog but also for you. It is hard dealing with a dog with fear aggresion (trust me I know) but you can help your dog get over it by being really positive when you are training around other dogs and in situations where you dog is uncomfortable. Dont accept it...................with some hard work you can make a difference. Its somewhere to start and hopefully it will make life so much easier for you both.

A halti/head collar can sometimes be the difference between taking your dog out for a walk or leaving him at home. I have been able to wean mine off the haltis most of the time but still use them when we are going for a really long "on lead" walk. Some people are dead against them and others love them, so what ever is best for you and your dog is the way to go.
