I've also been a victim of this scam. I ordered two bags of food for Molly and a DAP diffuser refill for my noise phobic dogs as it's storm season. Two weeks later, no order. They took my money the day I ordered. So I made five attempts to contact them. None of which has resulted in a reply. I contacted my bank this morning. Money will be refunded within 3 business days. I'm going to contact Fair Trading NSW. But I understand so many others have done the same thing, so WHY are they still operating a business? These people MUST be stopped. Troy, can we pin a topic on this supplier please?

I just did a quick search for Petfood 24/7 and there were quite a few threads that came up Did any of them relate to this company? I couldn't find anything specific but there were so many pages of threads. I didn't have the time, after about page 6 with no relevant threads or posts, so I stopped looking. Tried another search yesterday, same result. Can you post a link to a search that only has threads on this company rather than all threads with 'pet food' in them? Have called them this morning. Left a voice message. They haven't yet answered my e-mail. I'll contact my bank and Fair Trading. Let the experts deal with these people.

Is Renting With 2 Dogs Harder Than Renting With 1?
Dog_Horse_Girl replied to PoppyDog's topic in General Dog Discussion
Perhaps you could ensure your current dog's safety and security first? I'd hate to think of your first dog teaching a newcomer how to escape the yard. In relation to your question, I have three dogs. I got both properties I applied for here but could obviously only accept one. :D When I applied for rentals with my ex, we got all four we applied for...and in hindsight, chose the worst one of the four... -
Can you not keep her inside when you can't supervise?

Apparently my crate has been dispatched. But without an advice from Topbuy...I had to ask as to the order status I'm quite cranky about PetFood 247 because I'm unemployed and without an income until my income support starts from Centrelink. I have not had the best time in the past six months. If this company has taken my money and isn't giving me the goods, I'll head into the bank and dispute it tomorrow. I would like them the opportunity to rectify the issue, if there is one, before I get in touch the bank. I'll let the DOL community know the outcome. It's a shame that when I searched here, I couldn't find anything. :D

There's been a few threads here about Petfood 24/7, none good I ordered two crates from Topbuy (late last year), they arrived in a few days, unheard of in Darwin ;) Maybe they haven't been shipped due to having to go through Brisbane? I'd email them and check. Oh, no. I paid over $80 for my order because I wanted a DAP refill too. I paid with my credit card. I'll give them the opportunity to explain what's going on...then I'll dispute the transaction with the bank IF I have to. What sort of feedback has this business rec'd here? I did a search but nothing turned up. :D

Floods Prompt Call For Pet Evacuation Laws
Dog_Horse_Girl replied to bullylove's topic in In The News
Yes, and if the dogs were crated before being loaded to a chopper, that would reduce the risk further. :D I've got crates for my dogs. Ruby has an airline crate and a folding wire crate. Molly has an airline crate. Lilly has a giant folding wire crate which I use at home from time to time, and I've ordered a soft crate for her which is much lighter and easier to transport. In a pinch, I could get all three dogs into the soft crate in an emergency situation and they'd be safe together. The main reason I've got crates for emergencies is that some hotels etc will take dogs if you can reassure the property owner's on the dog's good behaviour. It's pretty difficult to argue against crated dogs IME. Also, if you have dog's sleeping/containment arrangements sorted, you can get space in places like vet clinics outside of the emergency zones. And apart from all that, a crated dog is safe from many dangers associated with disasters such as the dog being panicked and escaping the handler's control. I hope it's a long time before I see another disaster...I've just about had my share I think. -
Palmerston or Coconut Grove? They are still struggling to find good staff IMO. I'm in regular contact with friends up there (in rescue) and sometimes I shake my head at the 'advice' they've overheard some Pet barn staff giving customers. I did lots of shopping online and still get my flea/tick/heartworm meds from Priceless Pets. They're part of a vet clinic, have really great prices, and delivery is generally fast. When I lived in Brissy I would go down to the clinic rather than buy online - same fantastic service either way! On 5 January I ordered some stuff from PetFood 24/7 but it hasn't arrived yet. It doesn't show that it's been shipped when I check my account either. Same with Top Buy for those soft crates - payment cleared last week, I ordered the weekend previously, shouldn't take that long to process a B-pay, and hasn't been shipped yet. So far, not a good first impression. And I will be buying online a lot due to lack of dog-related shopping in Mbro so am on the lookout for both good and bad e-tailers so I know where to/not to shop.

Floods Prompt Call For Pet Evacuation Laws
Dog_Horse_Girl replied to bullylove's topic in In The News
LizT, that's why my essentials are already packed and ready to go. I've lived in cyclone areas, bushfire areas, and flood areas. I lived through two cyclones, many bushfires including the Canberra fires that destroyed over 500 homes, and a number of severe storms including the latest floods in QLD. The cyclones - were thankfully only Cat 1 & 2. I was packed and ready to head south if needed but had prepared my home to remain and shelter there. The bushfires I was packed and ready to head out of the area and had prepared the house to withstand a fire as much as anyone can prepare. Same with the floods this month. During the cyclone watch period, instructions are given as to evac procedures. None of the public shelters in Darwin accepted pets except the underground car park at the local shopping centre, which is prone to flooding. Therefore I either had to evac further south and risk being cut off from returning home for days and possibly weeks, or to remain at home and weather the storm. I chose to remain at home and it was an educated and well-thought-out decision. The Canberra fires will haunt me for the rest of my life. I had friends lose everything except their dogs, cats and horses. There was little time to get out when the original fires hit but enough warning once the first wave had happened, because everyone was on extremely high alert after that. My dogs are my family. There's no question that I wouldn't save them or die trying. We are all entitled to our opinion and it's an emotive issue. The bottom line is that for many people whose pets are their entire family, if the evac centres would agree to take pets, people would evac and early rather than waiting and hoping the emergency/disaster wouldn't affect their home or waiting/hoping for rescue that would take their pets. -
Gayle, I don't know what to say... I'm so sorry, but you're doing the right thing. I'll be thinking of you both tomorrow. Sending you strength...

I honestly believe that IF evac centres were able to accommodate people's pets - to make some provisions for pets - even if that meant having some evac centres take pets and some which don't, or having separate areas for people with pets so that those who don't wish to be with pets don't need to be - if that were the case, then people with pets WOULD get out early. We'd want to so we could grab the best spots for ourselves and our pets. It's the uncertainty which makes people hesitate in disaster situations. When people have to ask themselves, "How long do I wait with my dogs before I need to leave them behind?" then we have situations where people just won't leave until it's far too late for their own safety. We should *never* have to leave our pets behind. Many households have pets and they must be catered to, it's the humane thing to do. Why should I be forced into leaving my family behind in a disaster? If they were human, there'd be no question of them accompanying me but because they're canine, there is no official compulsion for authorities to ensure their safety in an emergency. And then we have situations where there was literally no warning. My mother has family in Grantham, Toowoomba, Chinchilla, Dalby...there was no warning in Grantham or Toowoomba. And two floods in Chinchilla and Dalby. ETA - we are unsure of whether any family members and their pets are safe or not. It's been very difficult to make contact, given that landlines are down... -
While it's a personal choice, my belief is that we obtain dogs for companionship. Unless we spend the majority of our time outside in the yard, why would we put our dogs outside in the yard if they're supposed to keep us company? More importantly though - dogs are pack animals and therefore they need others around them. If the dog is an only, what sort of pack do they have if they're housed outside and spend their lives separated from the humans? There are some breeds which do better outside, but IMO all dogs should spend time with their human family. If that means the family spends their non-work time outside, then it's okay for the dog to be outside. But if the family is more often inside, so should the dog be inside. I have three dogs - I chose short-coated dogs because I like them being inside. ATM with all the water on the ground, being outside is not possible so they go out only for toilet breaks. When I work, the dogs are inside as well for their own safety. They sleep on my bed at night. So their lives are predominately indoors. They're older as well, which means they are more comfortable inside. Some people will never change their minds. I think that's partly why we still have a long way to go before dogs are welcome in shared spaces such as hotels, public transport, and shopping centres. And I think that's a real shame.

me either... OH and I were talking about it today and we said we never would as well. Our dogs are part of the family. Since my marriage broke down, my dogs ARE my family. Even when I was with my husband I would never have left my girls behind. It's inhumane. -

So why did Lord Mayor Campbell Newman stipulate this evening that pets are not being accepted there? ;) -
Floods Prompt Call For Pet Evacuation Laws
Dog_Horse_Girl replied to bullylove's topic in In The News
Unbelievable :D where are they meant to go? Most of the state is under water, and the parts that are not, are not open to any traffic. I could take animals, but no one can get in here or out. It's the same upand down the coast and out west. I would not leave mine either. If poss. I'd find a patch of safe ground and camp in my car. I've planned and thought about it a lot as we have had cyclones and floods. LM, Id do the same, remember you can come here too. I dont understand the wildlife comments, what about wombats, echidnas, frogs, roos etc. how have they done quite well in the floods? ;) Only if the road is still open... ;) Otherwise I'd camp in the car on higher ground - assuming there is higher ground to get to. I'd take dogs in if they could get to me. I have enough room for my giant crate and two or three smaller crates to be set up in my living room and spare room. But of course if I had to then evacuate, where would I put all those dogs? Yep, I didn't really understand the references to wildlife...where are the animals meant to have gone? They do drown...and I'm sure thousands of head of livestock AND native animals have drowned. -

Why can't the showgrounds ones use pavillions and stables?? It simply isn't good enough. ;): I agree 100%. If I am told to evacuate and leave my girls behind, then I will also stay behind. I've thought long and hard...and they are depending on me for their survival. If they cannot be evacuated with me and if they cannot stay with me for the duration of the evacuation, then I would rather not leave at all. Why can't people who have containment for their pets take them to safety? I mean crates for dogs and cats, cages for pocket pets, and floats for horses and other livestock. Surely if the animals can be safely contained upon evacuation, they must be permitted to move with their human family. I would take what's needed for them in lieu of supplies for myself other than a few changes of clothes and a toothbrush. -
Thank goodness you weren't at Forest Hill. The entire town has been evac'd and like many other towns, is cut in half by the floods. :D
-
Me and dogs safe in Maryborough. :D Unfortunately my husband (soon to be ex) is okay ATM but stranded by floodwaters at work. He can't get home but he has somewhere to stay temporarily. We believe his home is or will very soon be, under water. I've asked him to stay in contact with me. Great update! He's managed to get home, going the long way around and was one of the last cars allowed through before they closed the road. His place is also okay... He's under instructions to stay put...as if he would listen to me anyway.

Some incredible images there. Brings home just how big this flood event has been in QLD and how much water has also been dumped on parts of NSW. Thanks for sharing.

This is the one I have that is HUGE Excellent, that's the size I just ordered. Will be great if I can fit the two bigger dogs in together. It's slightly smaller than my folding wire crate...so it should fit them both...if they *want* to share.
-
Shame Reb, I have 2 here I would have given you I bought one of the 4XL of the OP type and holey crap!!! It is huge, extremely comfortably fit 2 Pointees in there, hell, I reckon I could almost put another 5 in there too if I had to thats what i am thinking lol i often have two rottis in mine and room to spare often a couple of toddlers too lol. and everyone is saying they are small??? how big is your greyhound lily my rotti is 62 odd cm's at the shoulder and weighs about the same and he has room to move :s She will fit in the bigger crate I just ordered. Greyhounds don't like to be squished...they *must* be able to stretch out even though they *can* curl up into a tiny ball. When she lies on her back (in the cockroach position) she doesn't take up much room. I am overly generous with crate sizes though because I know they need to be able to stand and turn around comfortably.

Having good references always helps.

Thanks for sharing...like I need another online shopping place!

Yep, was looking for Lilly but WAY too small and she's a small greyhound. Any tips on where to get bigger soft crates? ETA - never mind, I found one on that site and have just ordered it...due to the flood threat, if I need to evac I don't have a portable, lightweight crate to fit Lilly. And I have a small car (Yaris) so fitting my giant folding wire crate that weighs a tonne in isn't possible. Therefore I need a larger, soft crate and this one looks like it will fit into the car even if I stand it up (folded, but standing on its side if I have to do it that way). Otherwise the bigger dogs can have it under them (with blankies on top of course!)...I even measured to make sure it will fit in my car.
