thats ok nicole. hes an over excited pup and just thinks that everyone loves him, he has to learn that not everone loves to play like he does. im sorry if he hassled bosun to much i tried to keep him away. bosun is lovely and im sure his confidence will grow its good to get them out there and socialise with lots of different dogs. -
heelers have a naturally courser coat and i think the colour would also make a difference, to it not looking shiny.. just watch the marrow bones young pups shouldnt have to many marrow bones my guys are lucky if they get marrow bones once a month a mettier bone is much better also large marrow bones are weight baring bones and much denser the dogs cant chew them up and get the full benefit out of them

there is a club there nicole,, but tuesday nights we are talking about is not a club as such.. some of us belong to different clubs and just looking to do a bit of socialisation and training over the christmas break.. most clubs have finsihed now for the school holidays.. and resume next year when school goes back.. westernport obed club does train at kcc park and is a great club, there are many great clubs around.. pups have to have had all their vaccs and need to provide proof with their cards different clubs have different rules u can as far as im aware use any collar you wish. while im not a fan of check chains, they do have their place if used correctly im not sure about the prices of westernport someone else will be able to let you know usually around 60 dollars a year with 20 or so of that being a first time joining fee.. thats about the standard of club fees.. and then u pay usually a few dollars a week my club is $1.50 a week with the use of agility as well, and has tuesday night training and sunday morning training.. and also has puppy preschool classes for soacialisation from 12 weeks old,, (indoors)must provide vaccs cert -
persistance is the key here and watch him like .. take him out the usually time after meals sleep play, and any other time u can about every 30 mins.. you said in your first post that he goes on short walks.... while i think it is very important to socialise.. pups this young should not be walked,, a play in the backyard is quiet enough at this stage,,, you said youve only had him a few days,, pups have a lot to learn in the first few weeks.. settling in to their new home is a huge thing. get to know your pup,, bond with him and play with him.. going out on walks is not nessasary at this young age...the crate is a wonderfull thing. you may need to take him out during the night so he doesnt soil in there... anpother thing too,, if the crate is to big, a pup will use one end for toileting and not worry about it,, if it is that big, u need to block one end off so he cant toilet one end and sleep another,, does that make sence?? good luck , congrats on your new baby and welcome to the forum,,, we will need lotttss of pics of this baby, can never get enough of labby babys..

i took my boy out SBT as soon as i got him,,, 8 weeks old,, took him everywhere with me..90 % of the time he was carried , only put on the ground where not a lot of dogs around.. no u can never be 100% sure but socialisation is so important. just being out with new smells new sorroundings etc... i took him to visit dogs where i knew the owners and i knew dogs were all vaccinated and never had any problems obviously just dont go to the dog park or walking the streets.. i took him to school. shops , market , reli's houses, with their dogs everywhere in car. he is 8 months now ,a nd only thing he has had is kennel cough , but that was a few months ago, andhe is fully vaccinated,. good luck,, we will need lots and lots of pics of your new baby

were pretty close and usually down there a bit too if you ever want to meet up.. -
my 1 and a half yo cav x lhasa has done this once, he is a bit dominant and has some agression issues with guarding food... i can only assume hes marking it as his own and being dominant... now what i do,, if i feed them from bowls.. as most of there food is either RMB or they have to work for it,, meaning i feed it to them from my hand.. if they do have bowls.. usually kibble and sardines with oil and stuff.. i stand their and wait for them to finish and i remove the bowls.(out of sight) as he was still guarding it, then claiming the other 2 bowls as well. and then snapping at whoever came near it claiming them all.. maybe try removing the bowl when he has finished... may he be marking it as his? does he often guard his food or have any dominate behaviours? my boy had all of these ,and yes he was desexed too he still has other dominate behaviours, but at least i have stopped this one..
