Well, I must take some tummy pics on the weekend as my bitch is growing at a rapid rate!! How are all of the other Mums-to-be going?? SBT - how is your bitch looking?
-
Sorry to hear your news SBT, fingers crossed your vets have missed them. I have just had my girl ultrasounded and we found at least 4 puppies - all with their little hearts going a million beats a minute!! We will be repeating it in 2 weeks to ensure all is OK (I work at a vet hospital.... nothing like ultrasound freebies!!!) SBT, just to let you know that you still cannot feel anything on my bitch when palpated - she is 23 days from the first mating, so I agree that there still could be a chance that your bitch is in whelp. Fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed for you SBT, we have our ultrasound on Monday!
-
Will this be her first litter SBT?? The reason I ask is because my girl (maiden bitch) does not have nipples like your girl And.... being a labrador, means that the hungry signs are a given, pregnant or not!! I have my fingers crossed for both of us ;)

My guys here Omega 3, 6 & 9, but I have also heard of the recommendation of safflower oil (cold pressed from the health food shop) is also extremely good.

The ONLY place to go. Highly reccommended

I'd fast for 24 hours, then slowly introduce some chicken and rice, small meals, then gradually increasing over several days. Then slowly add your kibble. If she is unwell at all, take her to the vets.

Help - Blood And Runny Poo - All Better Now
Embellish replied to benny123's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Recently I had a gastro bug through my kennels. All 5 dogs got it. All 5 had diarrhoea with a little blood, all 5 had a slight bout of Kennel Cough a week or so before. All 5 continued to be extremely bright and happy. I fasted them all for 24 hours, then introduced boiled chicken and rice (frequent small meals) and gradually increased back to normal food over 10 days. They all recovered. BUT... these guys had no increase in temperature and as I said, very bright and happy. If you are worried in the slightest, take him to your vet. You know your dogs best, if he is not well, seek professional advice. -
How Long Till A Puppy Can Last Through The Night Without The Need To G
Embellish replied to tracylacy's topic in Puppy Chat
Hi, I have recently been in a similar situation. I have one of my young pups in our bedroom in a crate too, he is now 14 weeks old and I haven't taken him outside to toilet through the night since he was 12 weeks. My routine is to take him out as late as possible before I go to bed - say about 10 - 11pm. I always wake up at 5.30 - so he gets let out again then. No accidents since he was about 10 weeks old. When he was about this age, I would get up through the night and put him outside if I heard him wake. - Or when my OH would wake and say "Oscar needs to go outside" - there was no way OH would get out of bed!!! -
I have a 14 week old lab baby at home that weighs 13.8kg - he has just had a growth spirt and looks quite lean!
-
I reccommend Austral Vet Clinic. All of our local dog breeders and showies go to Jim & Marrilyn. Only 30 minutes drive away.

No real advice here, just want to say that I love the adventures Noodle has!!!

Nothing can beat a permanent dog run/enclosure. As per shelbyville's post, my labs are in their runs when I am not at home, they are safe and cannot destroy anything. When I am home, they have the run of the place but are supervised so any mischief in the making is nipped in the bud!

My opinion on the dry food, Royal Canin's Labrador Retriever Junior - made specifically for growing labradors - takes all the guess work out of feeding!
-
Hi, your boy looks gorgeous. This is just my opinion, but I would switching him to Royal Canin Labrador Retriever Junior - as this is specially formulated for growing labs, takes all the guess work out of your feeding him correctly. and again - we need pics!!!!! edited as my fingers can't spell!!!
-
I agree with BL, the first thing I reccommend puppy buyers is a crate. My labs are always locked in their runs (outside) when I am not home or unable to supervise, therefore they are safe and so is my backyard

I was thinking abscess, probably from grass seed, but you have to be sure, good luck for the surgery

I sold some c/d tins at work yesterday, they have just had a price rise , but they were $2.05 per tin, now around $2.25 per tin. I actually thought that was a good price for prescription cat food that has great results. But... I don't own any cats and have no idea what normal cat food costs!!!

Yeah, we charge $44 for a consult at our clinic. That is the norm I think for sydney
