Yes, photo's soon, I will get them off my camera now.. Your babies are beautiful Michelle. Piper (Driftway Blueprint x Driftway Mariah) was mated to Mackey.......G Ch Driftway Special Envoy) fingers crossed for something special for me!!!

Thanks Lady of the G's, he was so big and strong, but the cleft was huge, 3/4's of his mouth, and he looked like he had a hair lip too. Poor baby.

Hi All, we have puppies! Piper had 9 beautiful babies yesterday. She was very restless on Tuesday when I arrived home from Adelaide (OH has been looking after her, crossing his fingers she would wait for me) then a very restless night. I got up with her at 1am and at 4am the contractions started. I have the two hour time limit in my head from the start of contractions to whelp born before the vet is called...... at 5:55am a large black male was born (phew) but unfortunately the little boy had a cleft palate. 20 minutes later the next whelp came, and then we averaged bewteen 10 and 45 minutes bewteen them all. Luckily, no more cleft's, just healthy bubba's. Once number 8 was born, the whelping box was cleaned and the vetbed put in (as the xray showed us 8 puppies). Piper was happily feeding away when another whelp appeared - yes, all in the clean box! So, final count of living puppies are: 2 black males, 2 yellow males, 1 yellow female and 3 black females. All are very content, Piper is a fantastic first time Mum, she wont leave them for a minute, have to lead her out to toilet! Goodluck for all still waiting, and I hope everyone's litters are doing well. Sorry - edited to add weights - smallest 365g largest 440g

Yep, Whippet show for me on Friday - though not Sunday - as I think my kids would divorce me!!
-
Good luck Michelle, hope all is well with your girl. Our litter due on the 20th, showing at the Royal on Saturday, fly to Adelaide on Sunday (son swimming at Nationals) back on Tuesday - hopefully she will keep everything together till I get home!! OH will be home with her, he has whelped the last three litters with me, and I have another lab breeder on stand by! I will be a nervous wreck until I get home!

Whippet I am an avid labrador lover / exhibitor and have been for years...... but they live outside as I have too many for insside - and I do love my clean house!! So, we decided to get a whippet for indoors with us, and for a second breed to exhibit - my OH kept saying - "why do you want a whippet - blah blah blah" as soon as the whippy came home, she has been "his" baby. The whole family absolutely adore her. She is so very clean, a very easy to keep dog. Loves all visitors - and I am sure she thinks she is a labrador, and loves running with the big dogs! So now my OH keeps saying that we need another........ which will happen in time. I truly believe they are a better family dog than the labrador, especially in the younger years with young families. Sorry - but can't reccommend them highly enough!!

He works from home, is a VERY experienced radiologist and is now semi-retired. Has worked in the the past with Wyburn, and has scored for the AVA for as long as I can remember (at least 20 years). Contact by email as per Angelsun's previous post

It can depend on the quality of the u/s machine and of course the operator...... Personally, I would wait now and see how she develops, if in doubt, I would xray a week before she is due.

I bring my whippy to work every day, her crate fits nice and snug under my desk - she is in there now, upside down, legs spread out, fast asleep - she has been in there since 9am! It has been great for socialising, she is now 6 months old and as bold as brass. She has doggy friends here at work consisting of an Aussie Shep, Kelpie, Terrier X, Aust Terrier, and various clients dogs, cats, horses, alpaca's etc (yes, I work in a large veterinary hospital). Taking her to her first shows was a breeze - she loved everyone and every dog big and small.

HI, is he is not well, I would put him on some boiled chicken and rice for a few days, then slowly introduce the dry. If he continues to have diarrhoea, or is sick in any way, take him to your vet.

Yes, fantastic to get so many girls as everyone seems to want a yellow female....
-
Got to bed at 3am this morning, 10 puppies bron, first pup at 1:30pm and finished at 11:55pm. The bitch was getting so tired towards the end of the whelping. One little yellow male didn't make the journey RIP little man. So the final count was: 7 yellow females, 1 black female and 2 yellow males (only 1 live male) Best wishes to all who have it in front of them - I am so looking forward to an early night!
