Hey Oak way believe me I've already browsed NAUGHTY ME! (Note to self NO MORE DOGS ALLOWED) If I get what you're coming at that Bully doesn't look like a pure bred to you or doesn't fit the breed standard. But don't forget Oakway that Bully may not be a show specimen etc. Also he may have been bred from backyard breeders, his parents may have been am staff crosses etc we don't know. All we know is that the owners say he is pure bred so they were either told that or sold that most likely both. There is no debating he is an am staff, just because he doesn't look how am staffs should doesn't mean he isn't an am staff. It just means he's different.

Not to mention that you are a registered breeder which means you have an extensive knowledge of their breed, needs, temp etc. People like this discredit the registered and pure breed community. I'm not a breeder and it makes me furious. I think there was a thread on this people selling puppies using other breeds and names false lines etc. He or she seems like a douche with no experience or knowledge let alone respect for anyone. If I knew nothing about dogs and went to him thinking I was getting a pure breed and learnt later I got ripped of because he obviously is so shotty there is no way he'd/she'd give me a refund on a puppy, or if there was a medical issue etc. Purchasing a puppy from this person is a liability waiting to happen.

Ima do you live in Australia? Show me one pitbull in Australia that looks like this. You keep showing me sites from America? SO? We live in Australia. Just because they are sold and accepted as pitts by those who want them doesn't mean they are accepted and sold as pitts EVERYWHERE and by the wider pitbull community. Edit to add: I would love to tell these people that their dogs are American Bullies as would any respected pitbull breeder or dog owner. And as education is becoming a more wider tool these people will soon understand that their dogs are American Bullies and not pitts but in saying that they're still dogs and are lovely breed. You do only have fifteen posts which does lead me to believe you only came on this section to start an argument or spout your self righteous theories which as it seems no one is listening to or believing. You seem to have such a hatred for the breed perhaps go out find some real pitbulls ones that aren't chained to boulders, are posing scarily and have battle scars (because apparently most pibulls look like this) and learn about the breed. If you don't want to be treated like an idiot don't write like one. You have your opinions which are just that opinions and not facts. If that's what you think that's what YOU think just don't expect an uprising of support.

Whippets why does it take the biscuit? Please explain? Why because people and dogs should never be compared? Or that people are far more important then dogs and the comparison shouldn't be made? The comparison is this. The government thought it fit to discriminate against a certain race (and breed). The government demonized those of this certain race and breed. Those of this race and breed do not have the same rights as those who are not. Those of this race and breed are made to be less equal, less important and less in general. I can continue but I will not. I am not saying that BSL has the same impact as segregation but is has the same pattern.

I'm actually quite lucky with Razor no dogs have succeeded an attack however I get a few off leash when I walk and ESPECIALLY this guys one border collie. He rides his bicycle with the dog UNLEASHED at all times he never carries a leash and the dog can be ten to twenty metres in front or behind at all times his dog is entire and ran at Razor hackles up aggressively. I just held Razor's leash tighter and the dog was met with this stance. The border collie stopped and I hollered at his owner to put his dog on a leash. He didn't he just called the dog back and it ran off. I'm lucky Razor is pretty confident and it usually deters most dogs.

Thanks Tes, It makes me wonder what the breeders in QLD will do? Just give away their dogs I think not. And to the poor responsible pet owners I couldn't fathom having to get rid of my boys because the government sees it fit. And this is what Australian law is coming to.

Was it serious Corvus or more like a scrap? Dog fights at dog parks are like car accidents. It's tragic but you have to look. I always find myself observing dog fights even if they're three miles away. I'll just be standing there staring into the distance shaking my head going tisk tisk haha.

Aww poor Saff That would be so cute waiting around for Bully. Well that's good at least they gave you their number maybe you could have some play dates and even offer to have Bully stay during the day or when the owners are out so he doesn't attempt a runner and that way they might get used to the idea of letting him stay (even if not permanent) at your place. Then you can shovel some food into his mouth Regardless you're a gem for taking him in and being so concerned.

They are all bullmastiffs I feel a little bit mean the way I addressed him but then when I read over what he wrote and responded I don't feel bad because HE IS OBVIOUSLY a backyard breeder who is looking for a quick buck. Eight hundred dollars for a pup whom the owner doesn't even really know what breed she is? Or eight hundred bucks to a guy who is willing to falsely advertise his/her dogs for financial gain....

Hey Stef, Tell your other half to try at least to enrol in tafe and do cert 2 animal studies (companion animals) there is all different strands. That full time is a six month course then tell her to then proceed onto Companion animals cert 3 or 4 not sure that way he'll have some credentials behind him. He will also after completing this course not make statements such as, 'Cross kepie/ and dobe cross shepard ' That way when he looks at applying they'll see he knows more than average joe Edit to say: One of the rangers I spoke to (when my dogs managed an escape) did this and he was quite well mannered and educated He seemed to know exactly what breed Lucky (R.I.P) and Razor were and that's a hard pick. Garden I'm pretty sure his head looks long because he is a little under weight. Looks about right to me then again there's all sorts of dogs running around now being called am staffs...

Also on the sinking ship comment it makes me laugh. Do you think when segregation laws were brought in the 'coloured' people said. Oh well it's a sinking ship. People hate us, we are getting attacked, harassed I guess there's nothing we can do. We're not bad people but because the laws are already in we might as well just live in the circumstances situated. So if every (coloured) person said well, lets forget about fighting if we stop fighting for our freedom they'll stop hurting and killing us. Do you think coloured people ask to be discriminated against? No. Neither did the pitbull. Could the coloured people speak and fight yes. Can the pitbull? NO. The pitbull needs people to support it. Now look. No more segregation laws. If you want to give up the fight regardless if you are a restricted breed owner or not then do so. But do not try and convince those of us who are brave, loyal and willing to fight for our dogs to do otherwise. You want to sit back and watch it happen do it but when they come for your breed who will help you. BSL it is not that different to segregation laws except that its for humans.

Before I start I love this thread and have thoroughly read over the posts. (By love I mean I enjoy seeing peoples misinformed statements posted) Well Ima you are quite wrong. The American Bully was named so that PUREBRED PITBULL owners were able to distinguish that a pitbull is not a roid munching monster it is a lean athletic working dog. They named it so that when people call American Bullies pitts the pitbull owners can say, no in fact that is an american bully and they are pitbull hybrids and this is what pibulls should look like. I think the ideology that because the pitbull isn't AKC approved it isnt a pure bred is rubbish. It's a breed, it's a pure breed and the Am staff derived from such a breed. With out the pitbull there would be no american staffy plain and simple. So I must be a homie thug then because I own a pitbull cross and an am staff cross. No I don't chain them to a boulder (WTF?) And like someone already stated yes you are probably seeing images of American dogs I don't know any (dog) owner let alone pitbull owner in Australia that thinks its fit to chain their dog to a boulder. Actually my girlfriend chains her two kelpie crosses at night on the farm. All kelpies must get chained like that then?

Amen sister. A few years back I was an advocate for dog parks and ALL dogs should attend and that BREED played no part in reasoning not too. I used to think if the dog was socialised then all dogs should go to dog parks... (I know how stupid right) It wasn't until I went overseas to visit my relatives in the states that their next door neighbour owned two beautiful red nose pitts (proper pitbulls maximum they weighed 15 kilos) and I loved them so he let me come with him to a dog park HOWEVER he stressed that I keep both dogs on leash at all time, his dogs were greeting others happily etc and I asked why he wouldn't let them play. He spent the next three hours explaining pitbulls their history, genetics and how it would be irresponsible of him to do so. He let me know that bringing the dogs was great socialisation and the dogs needed interaction but it always had to be supervised and on his terms so not accidents or attacks could occur. This guy changed my life made things so much clearer and I've never gone to a dog park since with Razor. I do go with Boss however keep in mind Boss is five months old. Razor is five years old. So that's when I knew I was wrong dog parks are definitely not for everyone,

Sorry Nek (don't flame me ) I personally think this guys chest looks not in proportion. Are deep chests bred in the working dogs? Or is it like a mutation. I don't mind a deep chest but not a protruding one.
