Steve that's not a burden at all if you can could you pm me some information about it or if it's a book maybe pm the book name I'll buy it I did a bit of research on the subject my boys are both crosses. It's ridiculous. I heard in QLD you can't own either breeds a story was on channel nine or seven last week about someone who's dog was classified as a pit and he was registered as an am staff but the judge ruled it was the same thing. And the dog was confiscated and was living in the pound till it got cleared.

What Don't Most People Know About Your Breed?

No pits, staffs and bullies are not supposed to be roid munching giants. They are supposed to be lean, athletic and fast. Just because your mate has an american bully cross doesnt make him a pitbull it makes him an american bully cross. No there heads arent supposed to be the size of Africa. They're supposed to be the size of Egypt so stop telling me my dog looks skinny. He is not skinny he is athletic and fit. -
I have read and heard that American Staffs are the show version of American Pitbulls that the AKC didn't want to be associated with fighting so they called it the Am staff. Because pits were bred for fighting the colour and breed standard etc was looked over. Am staffs are a 'show' version of pitbulls. Some one verify I'm right or verify I'm wrong.

Just because I look tough doesn't mean I don't cry. And I do cry. I cry constantly. If you walk off and I can't see you. If you leave me in the car too long. If you leave home too long. If you don't feed me when I'm hungry. If the puppy bites my ear and it hurts. If the kids next door take my toy from me and refuse to give it back, if I step on a bindee. The list goes on. -
Furballs what breed are the foster pups? And also I'm not sure if you're aware but when you start a post like this. It's actually a written rule that you must post pictures... I'm afraid if you don't I'll have to report you ;)

Aidan very true. Knew a few people using G.H on their pitbulls. Every dog bar one died.

No that isn't Razor growling he is snorting. Like a pig. Actually louder than a pig because of his shorter nose. -
Most topics do.

No because Razor looks scary he wont eat your children. Please allow your child to pull and tug at his widdle ears all he will do is cry louder than your child ever possibly could. No he is not a good guard dog, he fears the hose, doesn't bark, and will greet you with a tail wag if you try breaking into my yard. And to all the grown men in utes who do a double take when they see my dogs with me. Yes they are my dogs. And no neither of them will father a litter of pups with your dog. Oh and pitbulls, am staffs etc are not bred to be human aggressive. They are PITT fighting dogs which means these sick dog fighters like to be in the pit with their dog and watch the action close up. Fighting dogs were not allowed to be aggressive to humans, so media Frack yourselves. Quick edit to say: What would be the point in having a human aggressive fighting dog so when you pull your dogs apart you lose an arm in the process? -
I think dog parks are fun! I enjoy watching other dogs playing and romping however IMO I feel some breeds just aren't suited to the dog park regardless of how well socialised and balanced the dog may be. It all comes down to genetics just keep in mind what breed of dog you own and be sensible. You may have tight control over your own dog but the other owners may not and even if they are responsible owners with good knowledge they may not want to see there dog being pinned to the ground or growled at etc. Razor has been to a few dog parks however he is quite confident and he does have a click switch I don't know when he will click it but I know it's there and I don't think it's fair of me to bring him to a dog park and play Russian Roulette. But if your dog enjoys the dog park and you know the people and dogs and the settings are familiar and your dog enjoys going then by all means go and have fun.

I don't ever take Razor to off leash dog parks. Personally I know my dog and it would irresponsible of me to do so. Razor is socialised and a very level dog however regardless of entire or not I don't feel comfortable with numerous dogs who's owners are not always aware. Razor on leash has no problem meeting desexed or entire males and females however. Just answering your question not 'hi-jacking' the thread.'

(I don't own a pure bred but...) That the star of the hit t.v show the little rascals loyal courageous pet was actually *gasp* a pitbull. Also known as America's 'nanny dog.' -
I'm going to have to agree with the masses here. Unfortunately Razor isn't desexed and he has never bred I never plan to breed with him, he never humps, he never wanders (as in tries to escape my yard to seek females) he isn't a problem being entire and I dislike the automatic judgement I get whilst saying he is entire. I am a responsible owner he has not escaped he will NEVER be allowed to father pups etc. I don't like the assumption owning an entire pet means they are going to get out and breed or its irresponsible to own an entire pet. Like people have said numerous times it is their pet it is their decision if they desex or not. If furballs came on here to ask for advice and seek help she obviously is a caring owner who genuinely cares for the welfare of her bitch. I think she'd prefer to be given advice and not be judged for having an entire bitch. In saying that I can see where your concern comes from but I think your concern is misplaced. Sorry not attacking anyone just my own opinion.

Dear Lawd!!! The last picture says it all for me. 'What?'

Nor do I. HHAHAHA! BUT heres hoping a few more walks with my dogs will get me there! (Yeah and then Gerrard Butler will ask me to marry him too!) Back on topic I have to check if I get charged dispensing I never looked actually I think I do but it's only a small fee maybe $5 I think cause I remember there being an extra five on Luck's cortazone tablets. It doesn't bother me but agreed what you said about vets. A friend of mine is studying and she has no life. Literally.

First thing I was told when entering the animal industry was don't do it for the money. I do it for the passion. If you want money may I suggest exotic dancing?

I love black in animals because the coat shines and I love touching it. I think as non show dogs or breeders the colour wouldn't really affect the dog over its breed and temperament etc but people do have colours they prefer. I don't think I'd want to own a dog with pink pigment e.g pink nose pink eye lids etc. Lucky had a partial pink nose and pink pigment and the sunscreen we used was massive amounts and he used to love sun bathing so it was a constant sunscreen battle. ALTHOUGH I have met gronks who tell me. I want a red nose pittie. It has to be red with a red coat and red nose, because everyone knows when a pitbull has a red nose and red coat it's MUCH tougher than the other pits in different colours. *sarcastic tone*
-
Same as Shell actually a preference but not a rule. I would prefer not to have a completley white dog because my dogs are outside dogs and my yard would make that dog black in a minute I'd be bathing the dog every two hours
-
I've never owned a purebred dog or showed so I can't comment in that aspect and I'm sure it's vital and important to the pure breed dogs (regarding showing) however I could be wrong. In terms of general pet ownership I don't care what colour my dog is any more than I care what colour eyes they have. I tend to judge a dog (for my own pet ownership) on size, breed and sex. I had to think about that when bringing Razor and Boss home. Are they too big for the yard? Are they too active? Will another male live with another male happily etc? What colour pup you have Lhok?

Jed do you have a link to the story would love to read it. Or has it been posted in a different thread?

Well said Felix. And completely agreed. People on this board need to realise and understand some people arent as dog knowledgeable and savy as some of you are. If he is wanting to breed his dog as wrong as it is. The key here is education not slander. Maybe he is unaware of all the problems that can occur with breeding, of all the animals euthanised due to over population etc. Some people are unaware. Don't be so quick to judge. You know better he doesn't.
