  1. Orson and Oi likes peanut butter in theirs. I have put grated carrot and peanut butter before and they love it It doesn't keep them occupied for very long though, especially since they know it's so mummy and daddy are going to do something without them :D The great thing is kongs dont have fluff and it's fairly easy to clean :D
  2. Orson was a bit unsure and stayed at a distance when we first got Oi until Oi decided she was going to take matters into her own hands They were both still puppies (both of them 6 months at the time) and still unsure of a few things. Lots of pecking order sorting but atleast we've sorted that bit out now. Oi's the boss How long has Bella been with you? It will take some time for things to settle and your 3yo to decide Bella's actually alright and she's here to stay. Has Bella done anything other than following him around that's made him feel uncomfortable? (ie. growling, stirring him up wanting to play - pouncing) Can we have some photos?
  3. Is it just normal (human) vitamin C and zinc?
  4. I feed my 2 cooked mince and boiled eggs (sometimes raw). I dont feed any bone in their mince at all! It's far less messier with their big floppy ears I do feed them raw chicken wings so it's not all cooked stuff I feed them. Also, the cooked stuff is only a tablespoon or so with their kibble. I also feed them carrots and other veges (raw). They get fish oil tablets and canned salmon, tuna or sardines for their coats. I try to give them fresh fish when I buy some for us to cook. Because I feed them chicken wings so often (once a day or 1 every 2 days) I thought it'd be best to give them a bit of cooked stuff. They dont have a problem with it and loves steak (semi cooked). Orson can't take raw red meat but can tolerate cooked or semi-cooked red meat. dont know why Im trying not to feed them raw egg until i can provide a method where I dont have to wash their ears every single time!!! There's not a huge amount of poop in my garden so it must mean they're digesting most of it...I hope
  5. Raw chicken wings and carcasses are fine for dogs, it does depend on the dog. I've been told to take the wishbone off the carcass before giving the carcass to the dogs because the wishbone is really hard and might jab Some people have fed drumsticks to their dogs but I've never done so. Not so sure about the egg. There's been mixed opinions about it. No sultanas for dogs
  6. I'm sorry RIP Chance From Stacey, Orson and Oi
  7. Sorry to hijack this thread. I'm not a groomer You can always send your scissors away to be sharpened. I haven't had scissors sharpened before but Colin But is said to be very good ;) He's definitely fantastic with service. I've bought curved scissors, clippers and thinning scissors off him. I get emails from him sometimes asking how my grooming is
  8. I'm glad to hear Ollie's ok and he's hopefully on the mend ;) Please keep us updated! Sending Get Well vibes your way Jodie! From Stacey, Orson and Oi (and foster dog Flynn)
  9. Orson's feet are similar to your JRT's. I didn't notice it until the groomer mentioned it I took him to the vet's and was told it's no big concern as long as he's not in pain. He's still happy jumping up and down so I've left it.
  10. Sorry for your loss Tessie's gone to a place to run free without any pain It's a beautiful thought when you're with them at the last moment
  11. RIP Here's hoping we will be able to save more lives this week
  12. I've learnt from this forum not to give dogs the yearly needle injection I have been feeding my 2 monthly tablets (Sentinel Spectrum). It's worked well for me cos it seems to work for them Depends on what u decide but its definitely better to have tablets. The tablets are definitely needed if the injection (not preferred) is not used!!!!
  13. Welcome to DOL!!!! Having a puppy is definitely very wearing but also very enjoyable in the long run. You get a best friend as well as companion and family member who will devote all their love and attention to you :D (most of the time anyway ) Miranda is right, a human baby requires a lot more of your time and do a lot more other things than puppies :D I still want kids though regardless so I dont know what I'm on about!!!! ;)
  14. I'm glad to hear Blossom's doing well despite all these horrible comments Keep up the good work BMP!!!!
  15. oh Sending thoughts of his mummy and a BIG to Ollie so he'll get better soon!!! From Stacey, Orson and Oi
  16. My 2 gets 1/2 cup of dry food (morning and night) and whatever I've got for them (egg, sardines, veges, mince). I sometimes feed them canned food but very very rarely. I feed them biscuits, chicken wings, dentabones etc during the day and I've had no probs with their weight. I dont know if I'm feeding them too little but I do feed them quite a few treats. They're actually lighter than I thought they were. I thought they were 15kg but they're only approx 12kg which is a good weight (stupid home scales ) I do try to keep in mind what they shouldn't be over but otherwise, as long as they're healthy it's fine by me and OH
  17. Whatever she is, she's beautiful!!!! You've got a lovely pup there, I hope you have years and years of happiness with her
  18. Ah ok. Dont worry, I thought cocking was a boy's thing too until I came onto DOL I'm glad he doesn't cock his leg though. He looks so cute when he's squatting with his tail up
  19. My little boy doesn't cock his leg and I must say I like it this way. I know when he wants to go to the toilet when he starts looking for a place to squat. Plus he's inside most days and he can go on the paper. I dont think it's possible for him to wee on the paper if he cocks his leg. He did half cock it a few times but that's gone now. Just curious but Why do you want your boy to cock his leg?
  20. Oh Jodie, That's no good I hope Ollie will make a speedy recovery and come home to you soon!!!
  21. My mum's rotty had hip displasia. She took him to Sydney for appointments and eventually decided to get surgery done. He had to go back to Sydney after the op to have check-ups. He's been given the all-clear. He's spoilt rotten by mum, my stepdad and me. I must feed him a treat as soon as I arrive at work. Im not allowed to start work until I give him a treat cos he'll sit there with those cute rotty eyes and pout until I do. It's so hard not to give in Rex also gets chauffered to and from work. He sure knows how to live the life He'll jog every now and then but no jumping which suits him fine as long as he's boss
