Hi All, the video has now been burnt to CD, thanks to Flame's Daddy. If everyone who attended that wants a copy could please PM me their details that would be great. NB. I work in Sydney CBD, so if you would prefer to meet up instead of getting it through the post, just let me know and we'll organise something! Cheers jbbb

We feed BARF to our dobe, too. Breakfast is * a roo tail bought fresh from a pet store (they have a deli section for pets!). We just keep them in the freezer for concenience and defrost. * and a fish oil tablet Dinner is: * an egg * some yoghurt * about 3 times a week she gets a vitamin mix (cant remember what it's called, but it's most likely on the Fireax web site) * 1 of Dr Billinghurst's BARF patties (from the same pet store) OR * 1 chicken frame (yes, the whole frame); OR * some chicken wings; OR * some beef/lamb ribs/brisket; OR * whatever else we find that might be tasty and raw She also gets a dinosaur bone once or twice a week to gnaw on during the day. And she occasionally gets some tinned tuna or salmon. This is a photo of her when she hadn't been bathed for about 2 months. Have a look at the shine on her coat (and the proud look on her face!)

Would You Chose A Mobile Franchise
jbbb replied to Ittybitty_'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Word of mouth is probably the best advertising you can get. If you're in the show ring with beautifully groomed dogs and people know you're a groomer, they'll come to you. A good website with before and after pictures (or just after pictures) would also really help. I am a little wary of franchises because I know that all it takes to get into one is money, not experience. I'm lucky I have a short coated dog that needs very little maintenance, so I dont have to worry about professional groomers. -
myszka, we would love a copy of the video!! Happy to pay for the tape, or you can give it to me and I can copy it and give it back.... either way.....

I would also like to thank Steve. Every time I see Steve I am amazed at the wealth of information. And I think some of it is starting to rub off on me!! It was amazing to watch the transformation of Dreyfus!! I think we all wanted to take him home! And Yami was such a sweetie, too. At the end of the day she certainly didnt seem to have any fear issues with the people who had handled her through the day. All the dogs made improvements. When you think back to what they were like in the morning it really is amazing. As Flames_Daddy said, I actually put the prong collar on Flame this morning used Steve's training techniques and within a couple of minutes she was walking right next to me, following my lead and looking at me for direction. This is a huge improvement, as normally she sort of sticks with you, but she was always in front of me and not really taking that much notice. What a joy to walk! Thumps up for Steve (again!)

Accident At Shopping Centre
jbbb replied to TwinSpirits's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Hi Tristan, when I see a service dog in training, I always stare at it. I dont mean to be rude or upset the person with the dog, it's just that they amaze me with how wonderful they are. If I saw a puppy in training make a puddle I would probably have a little laugh. Not because I'm being mean, but because puppies will be puppies no matter if they are wearing a coat or not! Please dont feel discouraged - accidents happen! jbbb -

Yes! Steve: Thankyou so much for your knowledge (again) and for driving so far to educate us. Winterpaws and OH - thankyou for allowing us to visit your home, for your hospitality and for allowing us to play with the dogs! We had a great night. It was great to meet some DOL people and put faces to names. Flame sends sloppy licks to you all! :p -

Ecollar V's Anti Barking Collar
jbbb replied to MonElite's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
myszka, Flame has both. She is quite the little barker - I guess she gets that from her Mum, huh? Anyway, Steve put the collar slightly off-centre so that the stim is in a different place. We also had to use a higher stim than for most dogs as it seems she is a little desensitised from using the bark collar. At first she seemed a bit unhappy with the e-collar. Now she happily runs around with it on and obeys quite quickly most of the time (sometimes I think she wants to see how much she can get away with!) We have only done the basic - recall, sit, distance sit with the collar. -
Oh you poor things.

Sorry if I read this wrong, but did the humping only start when he came in contact with a 9 month old female Rotti? Is she desexed? Perhaps she is starting to go into season and he is picking up on that? Good luck with his training!

Hi myzska! (and Happy New Year!). I would guess that it's just an information pack that you can have a look at - you could probably photocopy the application form. I'll let you know when I hear from them and we can meet up for lunch and you can have a look. It would be good if we did the course at the same time!

Thanks Latisha. ps. the dog in your avatar has the cutest face!

Gandalf, I beleive Steve and Winterpaws are back from holidays, as I've been in contact with both of them... they're probably still sorting out details for the night. I'd like to put in my vote to discuss Pack Drive. -
Our girl gets a roo tail for breakfast pretty much every morning. It is definitely her favorite food, and goes wild for it! She gets chicken wings/lamp flaps/beef offcuts/barf patties plus veggies, fish oil, eggs, yoghurt and vitamins for dinner... I think she eats better than we do!
