Introducing...suthenskys Single N Luvn It
jbbb replied to kelpiesrule's topic in General Dog Discussion
OMG he is too cute!! I cant wait for more kelpie cuddles at Brunswick Valley!! -
Rumour's ears were CRAZY with teething! I taped them and gave her constant ear massages to make sure she didnt look like the Flying Nun permenantly!
-
Nasty! Mine dont like rope toys, but I have rescued a few rocks from Rumour's mouth... Glad to hear that the little guy is okay. Edited to make sense!

Flame - 4 year old dobermann with show training. Done a bit of clicker training, a bit of drive training, no formal obedience. Flame has been taught the 'watch' command, but not for an extended period of time. She really has no idea how to heel or what the start of an excercise is. Rumour - 5 month old dobermann. No training at all except a little bit for the ring - ie she knows how to gait on a lead and how to stand. She does not know much at all (I am very slack!). Flame - 27 seconds without food. At that point she walked to the front of me, barked, then dropped, then sat again, all still looking at me, trying to work out what I wanted! Rumour - 2 seconds without food. 6 seconds with food before she decided that spinning sounded fun! Rumour has the attention span of a gnat! EFS

Chiropractor In Lismore Or Surrounding Area?
jbbb replied to shellbyville's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I know one in Murwillumbah. If you want details, just send me a PM.... -
I'm not sure how long you want them to last, but I give my girls fruit and veggies - their favorites are carrots and apples, but they'll also quite happily have some celery or brocolli etc. I use the carrots as special treats! ETA: I give them whole.
-
I feel them raw, either whole, chopped or diced. If I open the fridge and go into the vege drawer at the bottom, the dogs go nuts! Carrots and apples are their favorite treats.

RIP Duke. I am thinking of you and your family.

I got a call from one of my best friends and she said that her dog, Zy, passed away yesterday from a paralysis tick. :D Zy was the most beautiful natured cocker on the planet. Flame and Rumour loved her, and so did I. My poor friend is absoultely distraught. She is blaming herself because she's been busy working 6 days a week and did not have time to trim her. Zy was taken to the vets, but it was too late to save her. Bye Zy, you were loved by all

I had a call this morning that a friend's 8 year old cocker had a paralysis tick. She is doing okay so far.... fingers crossed for her.

My little girl was the same: screamed and screamed, then vomited and screamed some more. I started taking her for car rides of about 10-15 minutes with a big play reward at the end, then home and a big play reward when we got there. She soon learnt that being in the car means fun and games and good experiences at the end of it. Within a few weeks, she was looking forward to the car trips and now she tries to jump in by herself.

I make my own with the Eziyo system (you can get them at Kmart and some supermarkets). The dogs love it and so do I!
-
Thanks - yes, she's fine. As soon as she was finished she was looking for breakfast!
-
Okay, well incase anyone wants to know, I learnt that pawpaw = explosive dioreah and no bowel control in a 15 week old puppy (who also found a pawpaw). I spent the morning cleaning her crate and the walls.
-
Thanks for the replies everyone. I will keep an eye out for mango seeds (if I get any mangos on the trees this year - we had floods last year and the trees never fruited).
-
I have pawpaw and mango trees in my yard and I just noticed Flame scoffing down a pawpaw that had dropped off the tree. So, does anyone know if pawpaws and mangos are bad for dogs? (my mango trees havent produced fruit yet, but I'm asking in advance!)
-
ditto apart from the breed.
-
OMG!! I am so sorry to hear that. Hugs to you and the family, and also to Monelite. RIP Image, you were a beautiful girl.

I had something similar here a couple of months ago. The vet said it's basically like us getting a cold and put her on some antibiotics. The antibiotics did nothing, so it must have been a virus. The cough cleared up by itself in about 10 days and no other dogs got it. Hope that helps!

Erny Has Puppy Breath In The Home!
jbbb replied to Erny's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Awwww... he's adorable Erny! ;) Congratulations! -
Yup, I'm letting Rumour let me know when she needs to go out. The first few nights it was 5 times a night! Now (one week later) she is sleeping through the night. Thank goodness - the broken sleep was killing me!
-
Awww look at all the adorable pups! Name: Rumour sex: Female Age: 9 weeks old Breed: Dobermann Loves: playing, chewing, eating, sleeping, annoying Flame!, teaching herself new things, meeting new people and making them fall in love with her! Hates: being told 'No'

I only just found this thread. Yes, those dogs and handlers are amazing! I was blown away. It was cold, it was pouring rain, and it was great! The attention those dogs have is just phenomenal! It made me realise that my backyard attempts of teaching Flame to speak etc are really pathetic! Unfortunately I missed the tracking, as I was at dog shows, but the rest of it was amazing! If you ever get the chance to see something like this, it's well worth going! EFS
