  1. SBT123 - I love the texture of your subject matter.... Can we keep this one image a day going for a whole year please - it's amazing how much we don't see in our day to day lives (until we have a reason to!!!!! ) Today it was a bit hot and summery in Trentham.......which as you will see below must be the centre of the universe as all roads lead outwards to somewhere else
  2. ....I've remembered that when Cadence was bitten by a white tailed spider 24 hours after I'd had an arthroscopy on my left knee I had to carry him (paralysed) from the yard, through the house and into the car without crutches, drive my manual car to the vet, carry him into the surgery (the vet got to carry my crutches )...after we had stabilised him, I had to take him home as there was no-one available to stay the night with him, got a neighbour to help carry a now totally Aced out dog into the house for me....I dragged my mattress off the bed and onto the floor next to the door in the family room and that's where we slept for the next month....the only way I could get up off the mattress was to do the 'pregnant woman roll'...for 5 days I had to bodily carry him outside to go to the toilet and hold him up so he could do what he needed to do.....I always wondered if that's why I still have trouble with the knee because it was never given a chance to heal.....
  3. What a brilliant effect - how do you do that?? FC - I love your shot of the water - I can almost feel it caressing my toes!!!
  4. There's a couple on picnik that I like playing around with http://www.picnik.com/app#/home/welcome I've had fun with lens flare in Photoshop, but most of the time I like playing with levels, hue & saturation and unsharp mask.......
  5. I drop the whole lot from the session onto the computer and then go through them all as a slideshow with a notebook, writing down the ones that catch my eye or make a statement. I then open them in batches of 10 and most of my processing for the internet is fairly standard and can be done quite quickly....the one's that I get excited about and decide to have a serious go at, I note down the number as I go and then come back to them (1 maybe 2 most times - occasionally up to 5). I do 3 copies of each - 1 at 1200x800, 1 at 800x500 and 1 at 500x333...........they go up onto the various sites and that's it for the day unless there's something really special...I have a break and come back to that one...... I have to do virtually all of this in one go or I never get around to it......can take 355 photos in one day so the first thing I do is always make a cup of tea Btw, I only work in jpg rather than raw.
  6. A goofy shot of Tango in the dandelions this morning and the real shot of the day....the paddock next door
  7. - I designed the house in Woodend on half an acre specifically to suit Cadence (GSP) in his old age so he could sunbake from room to room and follow the sun, but unfortunately he was only there for a month before cancer finally claimed him...I took him to work every day for the last 2 years of his life after he was bitten by a white tail and had problems with depression if he wasn't mentally stimulated..the staff loved it!! (Tango comes into work with me quite regularly too...I've just realised that the dog crate in the warehouse opposite the packing bench has actually been there for the past 6 years ) - I bought Tango a lounge of his own. - I cook all his meals for him (but I can't remember the last time I cooked a 'human' meal except for Christmas Days)
  8. I luuurrrve that shot of Pal Pony!!!!!!!!!! Today was bark & cobwebs while I walked Tango in a park next to the Eastern Freeway on the way to work.....this challenge is making me pay far more attention to what's around me!!!
  9. Lucianne wrote: TangerineDream: I like the splash of colour in the picture, was it like that or did you do that on the computer? (Pg 43) It was a shade of reddish brown, enhanced in the processing....
  10. Day 6 - Tango keeping me occupied so I didn't get bored doing the gardening after work...he's braking, explains the aileron ears.....
  11. Nothing uninspired here - I think this shot is just brilliant!!!!
  12. these photos are absolutely amazing!!!! Everyone is so talented and it's really interesting to see what interests different people and how they see things in their world....it's also a great challenge for making me look at things in much more detail than I normally manage (stop and smell the roses) and to stop multitasking.... Brilliant idea Ash!!
  13. January 5th - not thrilled with the images I took, but I learnt from them....the best of them is this... The Future - a building on the way to work
  14. Interestingly, Tango does exactly the same thing - he has a clamshell full of water that he stands in when he's hot, and a large bucket full of fresh clean water...but he waits till I get home and the first thing he will do after he's greeted me is to go and have a drink from the bucket in the bathroom...but if I put that outside, he won't drink from it either...will be interested to see what the solution might be.
  15. All these shots are incredibly inspiring!!!! Some of the techniques are brilliant - would love to know how some are achieved as we go through - am enjoying having to get the camera out once a day at least and photograph something completely different each day..... January 4 (can't decide between these 2) ....our resident hare....(it's a cross between an Abysinnian cat and some sort of dog I reckon) They always seem to look anxious as if the world is about to fall in on them.....
  16. January 3rd....the most gorgeous interaction between a colt foal and Welsh stallion.....
  17. awwww, helen, that is soooo cute.... Love the bird bum , but all of the photos are brilliant - the photographic skills of everyone are fabulous - methinks there is a lot of hidden talent there....all we need is a marketer and we could create our own photography company........ DOL Photographics
  18. January 1st - low precipitation storm in central Victoria
  19. Stunning - just stunning!!! Great shots - they look like they are in top condition compared to those we used to see in past years. More pics please!!
  20. Have always used Dimmitrol (last 25 years) and have never had a problem from 10 weeks on - give daily through 9 months of the year and then every 2 days through the depths of winter....
  21. awwwww..........goooorrrrrrgerous!!!!!!!
  22. It actually sounds like an allergic reaction that he's having....
  23. Tango is always under my feet when I'm inside, so if he disappears I go looking for him and usually find him lying in front of the door waiting for me to open it - fortunately he hasn't worked out that all he needs to do is stand up and lean on the handle.......in the middle of the night he just needs to be restless and doing circuits around the bed to be let out.....
