Riley's mum - I've got an AUII Ford station wagon with a cargo barrier and another barrier across the back. Tango travelled very comfortably in that for years, and towards the end, he came to work every day and was very happy and comfortable - there was plenty of space and with the screen across the back which had a gate in it, I could leave the tailgate up when parked, the windows down enough to create a breeze...... Dual fuel - use gas most of the time with petrol in the morning and at night for about 10kms.....4,000+kms a month costs me less than $500 for gas plus 2 tanks of petrol.

these are just gorgeous!!!!! It's the baby animals that do it!! :D

I'm in!!! I wondered why the birdbath was losing its water so fast.... Were the kangaroos back to drinking out of it? Nope, it was the bodysurfing magpie kids!! After all, it is summer Still learning to use Tapatalk ... One of the images should be full size... Will fix in the morning

I've looked and can't find a thread of extra cute photos, so I thought I'd share this gorgeoous image I came across today on FB....jolly hard to get your shot when your subject has snuck up behind you!

They are gorgeous!! what a wonderful idea!!!

I used deer fencing with chicken wire inside it at the bottom....don't stretch it too tight and climbing dogs can't climb it either. I used it for Tango who had incredibly high prey drive and would have walked out over the 1.5m cocky fencing backwards while asleep. Could leave him there and be 100% certain that he was safe (after I stopped him digging out under it )

2 months today......I felt that he was in the car with me this morning.....tonight I summoned up the courage to watch the video of our last walk that afternoon and I sat in the carpark and cried along with the me crying in the video......so sad, so not fair.....cat is curled up in the crook of my elbow and won't leave me alone tonight

I have no words, just feelings to share and hugs to give you...

Hugs and much strength to you...love him in the time you have together, smell him, hold him, remember him...help him go gently...and love him forever... Jane

Thank you to everyone for your kind words... I get teary reading what I have written above, but the memories of being owned by such a gorgeous boy are just now starting to bring me joy rather than the intense sadness of the last few weeks...but I'm still not ready to watch the videos....I've taken to cuddling Pointers (English and German) and 2 kind people in town, whose dogs I've cuddled have both offered me their dogs to take for walks if I feel the urge......things like this bring a tear to me and restore faith in human nature - that people with virtually no connection except a breed and a location in common, could be so kind....

Pustules - Skin Infection?
TangerineDream replied to woody2shoes's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
If nothing else checks out, it could be worth getting thyroid levels checked.....T4 might be low - I had a Dobermann whose thyroid had been damaged when the litter members were exposed to parvo when they were a few weeks old and it didn't become apparent till she was 9 months old and had a bout of gastro - after that the pustules started... -
Hugs to you during this difficult time - my heart is with you..... having just gone through the same I know how much distress you are feeling. Maggie will be running and playing with Tango and the other adored animals who left us this year at the Bridge , with smiles and in full health. Hugs from me.....

Puppy_Sniffer, what a lovely idea this is and a fitting tribute to so many beautiful animals. It's been a sad year for so many of us...... Tango (15/9/2005 - 4/11/2011) ....to an aggressive brain tumour. ..but he's still with me every day on my desk, on the computer, the iPad, the iPhone, the shelf with the barometers, the car still smells like Tango (and I can't bring myself to change that)..he was my heart dog .....................

Oh Griff, I'm so, so sorry to hear...my heart goes out to you.... Run free Ryan, up at the Bridge with Tango, playing in the meadows!!!!

High Calorie, Highly Palatable Foods For Sick Dogs
TangerineDream replied to Aidan3's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
In the last few weeks of Cadence's life when he had cancer (GSP - back in 2005), I fed him a gruel of VitaBrits, milk, cheese, chicken, rice and he did well on that - didn't lose weight and it kept him comfortable in the winter in the hills. He also had his toast in the morning. Towards the end I had to hand feed him (and then feed handfuls to the top of his gullet because he wouldn't take it) his entire meal, but the mixture worked for him and he could take it. Sorry to hear that you are at this stage. Making them comfortable and keeping them as healthy as possible will make this time easier.
