I am leaving Thursday and friday will have a cake etc. I am looking forward to relaxing (if that is possible as I am taking Perri and her babies LOL) come say hi and have some cake. Might even break out a bottle of wine!

Some areas do some don't where I live I don't but the next suburb over do. Best to ask for a specific area to be sure. I always check my dogs if they have been off our property. ETA you can get plenty of products to deter ticks when it is tick season. Also daily checking is recommended.

We are heading off to Coffs next weekend for a much needed camping trip with the babies, Perri and of course the Sheltie. it is also Bianca's birthday so we are going to make it a fun weekend. Any DOL'ers going as well? Will be camping with my Daly mate. Hope the weather is kind to us.

I prefer a phone call. And not one that is just "how much"? I have found most genuine buyers will want to chat for ages and have lots of questions. We may then follow up with email. If the potential owner is suitable them I invite them to come out to visit. I am very careful who I sell to. There are way too many BYBers out there who do the wrong thing by the breed and many Danes end up in rescue because of this.

I am an ex junior handler. My parents always showed Danes so I followed. I had a terrific bitch who was always the bridesmaid in the show ring but when she got in that handlers ring we both shone. We won a lot of handlers together (well before the days of winning a trip to Crufts) Had a blast. I will never forget her. Naturally I followed on and still have the Danes. We have also had Dalmatians and I have handled dozens of other breeds. My daughter started handling over in NSW when she was 9 (cannot handle in QLD under 10) she started with Boston Terriers and Corgi's. When she was old enough she took on one of our Dane pups. She went Minor in Show first weekend out! That was it she was hooked. She handled the pup until she got too big for BJ so Bianca helped many other people handler other breeds. She is quite a natural at handling. Finally we settled in a Shetland Sheepdog for her. We found a terrific dog and the rest is history. BJ is now 11 years old. Has put 500+ points on her Sheltie with several best in groups and an all breeds best in show in the last year. She is as hooked as we are. My son on the other hand can take it or leave it. He much prefers his footy!

What about the Tassie Dane people? Do they have to deal with showing flat dogs because they have spent 12 hours on a boat then a long car ride to the showgrounds? My mum has a Great Dane, she has had them for 20 years... they would have loved to have gone to the royals on the mainland or a specialty show but the logistics of it just proved impossible. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm wonder who your mum is fancy meeting you here! How is the Crestie going?

Technically the show starts at 5pm tomorow and ends Sunday...............surely that means we can leave it up? I will check with the show manager tomorrow.

I have left the whole lot up several times. I pick the mat up and zip the sides up. I hope we don't have to pull it all down then up again tomorrow night?

My Dane babies made their debut on the weekend. Kochak Tickle Me Elmo won his first fringy with a Baby in group.

Ha ha BJ and I got the trolley bogged in the middle of the oval trying to get back to the car at shows end. Thanks to Patrick (Pointers) who came to our rescue! It was a fun night. Great to kick back in the gazebo and have a couple of glasses of bubbles!
