LOL - I quite possibly might be I thought SG introduced the target plate for the repetitive nose touch straight away and then started to fade it - so 1 in every 5 touches wouldn't have the plate :p That's the method I used anyway (minus the repetitive touches!) ROFL!

haha -did my shopping yesterday Get Fresh was the cheapest for bones and quite a good variety too. Naturally I think it depends on the day. Was quite impressed though For your paws only (run by prodigyboxr) was really cool . I didn't realise I knew her She has heaps of great raw stuff - so raw veggies premixed into pulp, kelp and a bunch of other goodies too . Great pet mince - good variety! Going to see how the puppers go with the food I've got them now

are you using a target plate Ness?! I found that really helped initially :D

That's fantastic AD!!!!!

Thanks Puggy puggy! Guess who's going shopping tomorrow

Mercedes - I usually won't enter until I am sure my dog is ready . Doesn't mean they will pass, but it means that they won't get stressed by little mistakes or your changes in body language due to your stress ;) I say go to the trial, but don't enter. train around the rings - gives you great experience that way OMG Xena!!!! What a great result!! :D

Where is "Get Fresh"?!

Thanks for your suggestions everyone I might try your ones SnT as well as the organic place in lilydale - don't know what their prices are like or if they stock bones, but I hope so!

They look awesome Persephone!

hehe - I like that idea kja! I think it's been done though?! Or am I dreaming?! I need to re-join the challenges though! Been too busy lately Thanks Tess - I have the ISO higher, but it still can come out quite dark ;). I end up using my 50mm mainly inside coz the aperture can go so low! Guess I'll just keep mucking around and see what inspires me I took some pics yesterday so have to go through them tonight too

So – I’ve started a photography short course recently, which I’m absolutely loving. It’s really taught me a lot in terms of learning how to use the camera and understanding the manual functions etc especially in terms of taking good photos, lighting etc. But – I still look at most of your photos and find mine lacking in something still! Yours all seem richer in colour than mine!!! Not to mention, I'll have something set right for one photo, then the dogs will move or do something really cute, and the photo will no longer be correctly exposed... or by the time I've adjusted it the dogs have moved One thing I’ve also noticed is that with my 17 – 85mm f4.0 camera, the shots are often dark. I can't use it inside coz f4.0 is usually not low enough aperture… is that normal? My main question is however, how do you find the inspiration for a shot?! Some of you can turn the most blah-ze, or non-interesting things and make them look amazing. Is there a secret there? I mean, how can you make car keys or dishes or water look incredible? Yet so many of you do?! What’s your secret!? I’m looking for inspiration for taking shots this week as I don’t want to be always snapping shots of the dogs. Landscape is something I’ve never really fried, but I don’t know how to make that look artistic!! ROFL!

Hi All, I feed my dogs on about 80% raw, but it's getting bl**dy expensive as my butcher keeps hiking up his prices. All to find some really nice meaty bones (I don't buy the $2 bag of bones coz it's no meat just bone ). I live in Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. Does anyone have any recommendations of places where I can get some really nice, good quality meat that won't cost an arm and a leg? I feed all kinds - fish, lamb, pork, beef... you name it!! LOL! Anyone use vic markets?! Are they much cheaper?! I'd only be able to get down on weekends though.....

Yee har well done We don't have tunnellers in WA - whats invloved and do you find the dog becomes tunnell obsessed on a normal agility course? I think the tunnelers is part of NADAC not ANKC It's just a bunch of tunnels that make up a course . Heaps of fun and great for getting speed in a need for speed dog, or for learning the ropes with a beginner dog I've not found them becoming tunnel obsessed, but then I've only done one NADAC trial ETA: My 'brag' is that Leo did an absolute blinder UD training session for me at club yesterday!!! Was SO happy with him!

Heeling Footwork Diagrams Or Videos?
leopuppy04 replied to Luke W's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I like Kay Laurence diagrams in her Clicker world obedience book A great game a friend and I used to play was to put our dogs away, have one of us heel and the other one call out turns and C&T the humans when they got it right - Works a treat! (pardon the pun!) The other thing to do is to have someone blindfolded and link arms with you as you practice the foot work. You will find they will have a MUCH better idea of where you are going if your footwork is correct! Guess what - same for the dog too -
Luke - don't tell me you took away my title?!?!!?!? ;)

Well we had an 'introductory' ADAA trial here in Vic this weekend just gone A huge and well done to all the ADAA people who organised the event! Was heaps of fun and a good way to learn about the other 'styles' of agility competition ;) Bummer about the rain on Sunday and the horrible wind!!! Made it tough competing and standing in the rain certainly didn't help my cold at all!!! Well my kids did well, and I (think) Leo walked away with his AAD title?!?!? Leo ended up with passes in: Intermediate Agility Starters Agility Starters Jumping Starters Agility Kinta had passes in: Intermediate Jumping Starters Jumping Starters Jumping I loved the courses and the ones we bombed out on were mainly due to handler errors or small faults by the dog! So proud of them both

For Those Who Use No Pull Harnesses
leopuppy04 replied to Cosmolo's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I think they work but they are less effective. I think that is more a handling issue though more than an 'equipment' issue -
For Those Who Use No Pull Harnesses
leopuppy04 replied to Cosmolo's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I use the harnesses much like SnT. I've had the most experience with the Gentle Leader no pull harness, although I have found with some dogs it does rub/ slip down their front if not fitted correctly. I think they are fantastic for small - med dogs too -
How Do You Tell Your Dog -
leopuppy04 replied to Karelea Aussies's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I agree - I think we all expect a similar response but go a different wayabout it / express what we mean differently Either way - an interesting read! I like hearing what you all do who TID and also just what others do in general to get their dogs 'ready' to work. As cosmolo said - she warms her dogs up but it's probably more for her than the dogs - I'm the same -
Well done to all the recent winners and grinners!!!

leopuppy04 replied to Karelea Aussies's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
too right! I can just see myself going "ok see this is how my dogs tune in" and I'll call Leo over and he'll just roll over on his belly or something equally evil to make it look like I have no idea what I'm doing
