  1. Me too Are there any obedience ones? Me three!! I love the only six comment too!! I often say ONLY three and if I'm not around my doggy people i get some WEIRD looks that I put the ONLY in there first!!
  2. Berwick is Sat afternoons Hastings I think is still Sunday mornings. Don't know of any (other than private trainers) who hold classes on a sat morning :D
  3. Now that's a dog earning his keep. Well done and enjoy the choccies. Great result LP! You'll want to get the puppy out into CCD next, with two dogs in UD+ you'll need the challenge of a muck up pup in the lower levels. Might have to enter CCD to keep me sane eh?!?!1 LOL! Maybe we pull Zara out of the cupboard and see what she's made with... hmmm... 20mths and no formal training other than group classes.... me thinks we'll hav e alot of bad habits to undo! FAR OUT TSD!!! 5 qualie's out of 7 runs!! No wonder you were tired!!!! I was too crook by the end, so had to get Leo run by someone else Bit late -but 'grats SG! Oh man - that roll over in the drop stay had me in stitches! the way she popped up as though nothing happened was hilarious! Goooooo Poppy!!!
  4. Did you find there was a technique as such that worked best? Nope not really - but I never really played with the double ended lead for an extended period as I found little need for it. Hard to explain the exact technique in writing though . The most important is the correct fit, so making sure that the front strap is nice and tight. Hehe, I've had the "you really must have the double ended leash to go with it" from BD...mmmm no thanks! I use double endeds with my dogs but it's hard for some clients to get the hang of. Have you also tried the Sensible LP? I ordered some in when there were none here...I wonder if they've revised the product I should probably take another look. Nope - hadn't even heard of the sensible brand until just now
  5. I've used both the easy walk and the black dog one quite extensively and like both. The easy walk I had the same issue as Cosmolo and the blackdog - I found initially some problems with the fitting around the chest but Warren assures me they are onto fixing this. The BD one is probably my preferred option but I don't worry about both leads
  6. 2 days to go guys! Hope your dogs and you are all ready for a fun filled day
  7. you can run but you can't hide ;) Missy Kinta pulled off her final leg for her CDX title last night wasn't a great score as the little blighter threw away 6 points for anticipating the finish. Otherwise she would have got a lovely score of 195. Alas, we ended up with a score of 189 and 1st in the ring I'm just so proud of this girl - for a dog that was difficult to trial to begin with due to nerves, where we struggled to get a CCD pass = she's come a long way gaining her CD in 3 straight trials and her CDX in close succession only failing the difficult Royal and the Aussie shepherd Show. So hang in there Ness - I'm sure Kenz will blow you away when her time comes Now onto UD :D Methinks we might hold her back - I can't have 2 failing UD dogs! Leo did alright last night - he's definitely getting there. did a brilliant seekback () mucked up the middle exercises (what is it about searching the whole mat 5 times EXCEPT for that teeny pocket where the RIGHT article is???) and then finished on a high with his speak on command!! I could have cried for one of my friends last night who was SO close to her 3rd UD leg, her dog worked lovely and then anticipated the final speak
  8. hmm... well I think Leo's is a repeat of his 2009/2010 wish list Leo Well I'd like him to still be trialling in agility and not an old fart just yet . I'd really like him to pick up his ADM (2 more to go) and JDM (5 more to go) titles - PLEASE leo keep those bars up! I'd really like him to get his UD title, or at least passes towards it. His Neuter Champion Title To remain happy, healthy and the wonderful dog that he is! Kinta I'd like Kinta to achieve her CDX, ADX and JDM titles!!! Not much of a list is there! She has the potential to do it if she keeps her brain in the right spot!! I'd also like her to continue growing the confidence that she has been lately and to remain the lovely dog that she is! Zara I'd like her to continue to mature and turn into a nice show dog that judges will at least look at! To learn that there IS value for agility and channel that drive for her dad so that they can have fun practicing agility together! IF we decide to breed with Zara I hope for happy, healthy babies and a stress free pregnancy and whelping!!! Tahli Hmm... to grow up into a lovely, drivey speedy adult with a great temperament and a promising show career (with some points to her name)!!

  10. Why do customs sieze it do u think?? Hey SM if you get some I'll be happy to order some with you and share shipping costs. Ness- I know!! A friend of mine got hers from CR too...
  11. I guys, for the hotter days I wanted to try the old "dogade" products that used to be around but can't find them anywhere... so I tried to purchase the equivalent product from cleanrun - http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...p;ParentCat=218 called "Go Dog" but it was siezed by customs Anyone know of a similar product I could actually buy in Aust!?!?!?! Anyone used anything like this before?! Thanks!
  12. Mischa is a real little cutie and is starting to get a bit more character as she becomes more confident :p. She'll make someone a fabulous pet, although to be honest, I can't wait until I can clip her (won't yet as I won't take her away from the bubs for that long ;)) Hahaha - I had no idea you love puppies RS!!! Hehehe! Sahara is a real cute, confident little thing! First to try everything! My friend named h er after the sahara desert
  13. babies are 3 weeks old on Friday Eyes and ears open and starting to walk around now :D feeding time: Socks Sahara attempting a sit up Sahara Mo going for a walk Midget Climbing over mum Chai
  14. Good topic to distract me Ness!! I knew nothing about dog training and while I was at uni was chatting to a friend asking her what she was doing on the weekend etc. She told me she was heading down to 'dog club' which really confsed me as her dog was about 7yrs old so here I am thinking her dog must be really dumb to not know how to sit already given his age!!!! ;) She invited me down one day and I decided to come along with her and was really interested in this whole new world I knew nothing about! I already knew about the Aussies and desperately wanted another dog, so I was stalking all the aussie owners down there (at the time there was only one!). I ended up going down with another friend and working her dog through some of the classes while she worked another one of hers. I begged and begged for another dog but alas, I wasn't allowed as our old Kelpie girl (approaching 13) was to be 'our last' dog until I moved out of home!! When she suddenly died, it only took my mum a few weeks to decide that having another dog wasn't optional as I really wasn't coping without her . So I started to hunt around for an Aussie who had fast replaced the previous breeds I was looking at - a BC or a Golden. One look at Leo and I knew he was mine. I'm sure my breeder thought I was some young kid who would just take the dog to training and 'give these things a go' but never really eventuate into anything. I absolutely loved training Leo and poor sould put up with all the cr@p I put him through. He sailed through the classes and then I came into this obedience ring class and was taken through 1:1. NEedless to say it was horrible!!!! I shudder to think of it now! But with the help of some great trainers, and some weekly meets with one friend in particular who taught me all about teaching behaviours for the obedience ring etc. Once we got started I was hooked. Leo's not a fabulous dog to watch (in my eyes) as I made so many mistakes with him, but we have our CDX, JDX, ADX, SPD and HT titles and are well on our way to our JDM and ADM titles as well as coming oh so close to some UD passes. He's really been a joy to train and I can't believe how much he's put up with and still manages to be the dog that he is! Kinta came along 2 years later as I wanted to try 'showing'. She's been a dream to train and has really shown me what it can be like if you start off on the right foot. She has her Ch title, her AD JDX CD and HT titles and again is well on the way to her JDM/ADX and CDX titles. Not long now... I just need to enter trials . She's had a litter for us along the way and has just been a dream to trial. Gets better as she gets older, as per Leo! Zara was next, and at 18mths knows squat. She's owned by my dad, but I'm thinking of pulling her out for obedience soon. One day. She's also having some fun training in Agility with my dad - shows a lot of promise, but is not terribly easy to train as she likes to run past jumps :D Absolutely no value for them! Tahli is our little 5mth old baby and my next showing/ breeding/ performance dog. She's just running around like a nutty puppy at the moment, but I'm sure she'll really show me how much I know when it comes down to putting my theory into practice
  15. Mo having a stretch: little midget: Mo bundle of puppies sahara Mo dreaming feeding time: attentive mum
  16. OMG Luke- that is FANTASTIC!!!! Barkly is on fire!!!! WTG Guys!!!
  17. wow - that is some achievement Xena98 - well done!!!
  18. Oh man - it was a classic slide wasn't it!! Everyone upstairs was apparently laughing - partly at the slide and partly cozI got up so fast it was like I just re-bounded off the ground! Your boy is so gorgeous! I just love his sooky, cuddly temperament! I true testament to a good, well bred Rotti ;) I wonder if Kinta thinks it's a new handling technique!! Yep - in fact we almost ran clear again, but she got a refusal on one jump coz I wasn't in the right position. She was going great guns though! Haha - yes it sure made the handling fun! I swear we could have got boats out instead of cars and swam instead of walked
  19. Oh isn't the weather just awful!!! You should see KCC park - the carpark infront of the office is knee deep in water - we can't drive the cars through! And the paddocks were we did the herding - I think the handlers needed a row boat Yet the front lawns were reasonably dry considering!!!!! How good is that!! Lucky me -I came home to a 5mth old pup and 18mth old partner in crime just COVERED from head to to in black MUD!!! What does that make them? Most Disgustingly Dirty Aussie?!?!?
  20. thanks everyone for the congrats. I am just absolutely chuffed. Like you said Ptolomy, it's just lovely to have a dog that is ready and willing to do whatever you ask of them (except toileting in the rain!). I was on a high enough with Leo's UD round as I actually didn't think he would work at all inside, and yet, he probably gave me, accidents aside, one of the better rounds he could have. I feel he is getting closer and closer to 'getting' that UD and really settling into his work. Piper - contact our club president or alternatively PM me the details and I 'll get the right person to get into contact with you. We are constantly changing the rules after each event is run as we always think of better/ fairer ways to run this. But yes, this is why the 'title' means SO much to me, because maintaining the versatility and natural instinct of the dog is so important. I just unfortunately don't have much time to devote to herding
