Thanks guys - all of you with your talk of weave poles has made me order those stick in the ground ones Now - the question is what is the ANKC spacing between poles again?! 60cm?! And what is that in inches?!?!
-
I'm sure the whole world is ganging up on us 'dog folk' to spend all of our money!! I am not buying anything because my CR order plus a recent visit to the states means I have no dosh! But seriously!!!! Oh and is it wrong that I am more excited to buy stuff for the dogs than I am for myself Follow this linky - it's only for 3 days http://www.tawzerdog.com/index/default.php

Can dogs eat the whole thing with a cow hoof?! I gave my dogs one each for the first time on Tuesday night and I have to say that it's the first time ever that ALL three dogs have left a remnant behind when I've given them something chewable. Especially Leo. If I give him something he will only leave what is impossible to chew through/ digest, and yet he too has part left over. I've given the girls a cow hoof during the day and while chewed it's still not finished or does it look like much more progress has been made. But when I gave some to Leo again tonight, he got stuck right into it again which makes me think maybe it's not 'finished' yet!??!!? If they CAN eat the whole thing then WOW - I am VERY impressed!

I'm pretty much the same. I find it is pretty demotivating for the dogs to go back, so unless I'm going to 'go back' in training and we are practicing that particular sequence, I don't put them back over. It's usually my own fault from handling and I HATE watching dogs get slower and slower and more unsure because their owner turns them around and puts them back over a jump because the dog missed it/ mucked it up and they are now already 3 obstacles ahead . I'd rather keep the smooth flow of the run happening, come back, and work on that little sequence on the next go

TSD - depends what you want. For my stick in the ground ones he charged me $50. I would get the solid bases as a preference now though and he will make them however you want :-)

I bought a pack of those and the oozie balls or doozie balls about 3 years ago and I think I've lost one and the others are still intact! Much better than going through a tennis ball each time we head to the park!!!
-
Tassie - I think they had such success the first time and were hounded so to run it again they had no other choice I'm holding off until December coz I need my c/c to tick over (lol - this month was the 'australian pet treat company' order and we spent up BIG as we had no treats (training or otherwise) in the house!!! Hehehe! I don't know if the waiting is better or worse as my list just keeps on growing!!
-
I got asked to pay for shipping too
-
Hehe - yup Hazard would be Tahlia's Uncle, Zara's Cousin, and a more distant relative of Leo and Kinta through Gideon (Moonstrucks Star Slayer)... too lazy to figure that one out specifically
-
Donatella - I just haven't found the 'right' home yet, because the 'better' home still resided with us. Plus she just loves the big dogs soooo much..... so now I've stopped looking for homes :p
-
Even i've noticed that! I just love the little pom that we have at the moment. The 'foster' dog that is still here 8mths later . Little sucker! Wherezaball - love that pic ;)
-
I really feel I need to see this video now Oh wow! That video would be something! :D You could just sync to itunes and you could probably upload to tinypic or photobucket. I suppose the Pom imagines they're the same size as the Aussies :p I always estimated a next pup in a couple of years, maybe time will tell if it'd be an Aussie! Excersize wouldn't be too much of an issue, We run every morning and walk every evening. Weekends are usually considerably longer (When it's not raining anyway - Thanks for the consistant weather Melbourne haha) They just seem so well mannered and full of personality I cannot believe I've only just been introduced to this breed.. (Better late than never I say!) I will try and see what I can do - otherwise, PM me your email and I can email it to you :p
-
Hey Minimiss - I can vouch for the fact that pom's and Aussies get along! I have a 3kg Pom x and she gets along like a house on fire with my 4 Aussies! I have a video of them playing but it's on my iphone and I have no idea how to post that on here :p

You mean this one? That's Tahlia aka Ellagant Paris All Stars. She's 18mths (about 15mths) in the photos so legs arms and everything are all over the place, but her ears are characters all in themselves. They are quite high set and I find that the older the are then the more they begin to settle.... but as Gayle says - you can do a whole photoshoot just on Tahli's ears!! They certainly are expressive and I have to say - they match her character - full of beans with just a little bit of nuttiness :p
-
Toy chasing with his mate Tahlia Silly boy Leo Playing with his favourite toys - squeakies!! As you can see - he lives a hard life :p I won't bore you with any more now
-
Nawww shucks RS - but we all know it was B9's Mia that tipped you over the edge ;-). Just wait another few months and we might be tempting you again couldn't agree more Gayle Here you go Clyde, just for you... One that Gayle took from that same Kilcunda shoot: Doing what he loves best: Being a ham with his best mate Kinta and lastly - Leo's nephew Levi: Not Leo, but Panda, my most favourite mismark from my first litter: and her sister Zara being a goober
-
Wow - a thread just for Leo! I'm not sure what started it but I feel like I own a celebrity . He is just the most amazing dog to own and thanks guys - I'm really chuffed and constantly amazed at the people who adore him :p. His temperament is just to die for. Never will i have another like him

Nope as in stuffed toy dogs .

Hi All, Fresh back from my APDT visit to America, I'm trying to find how to get some stuffed dogs shipped to Australia as I would REALLY like to get my hot hands on a couple for our work in the shelter. Has anybody tried to get some shipped over and if so how much did it cost and was it at all possible?? At all the links recommended to me, I have not been able to order it as they won't ship to Australia. Would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

B A R F And Sensitive Tums
leopuppy04 replied to leopuppy04's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks everyone for their thoughts. I think the pumpkin is a great idea as this will be a good additive. Am happy to consider an elimination diet however I'm not 100% convinced that she has an allergy/ tummy problem as she's basically been on a bland diet for 6mths, and had foods slowly introduced with no ill effects and then when nothing has changed, out of the blue she will have a grumpy tum!! Very frustrating!!! And I am loathe to feed her what the vets recommend eg: processed and crappy dry foods. -
Looks like one of my dogs might just have a permanent sensitive tum.. Looking for recommendations as I am LOATHE to raise her on i/d food - of successful BARF diets or dry that has kept their tummies happy. We are still at the very much beginning stages of this as she has been on carafate with i/d for about 4-5months now, no problems. Re-introduced black hawk, no probs... then weaned off the carafate and she's upset tummy again. So I'm looking for some other alternatives to find out what she can/ can't eat and what people have gone through with this. TIA

Thanks - I will be in on the last Sunday doing agility - am just surprised i have not received anything will contact Estelle

Getting A Dog And Stuck On Breeds, Advice Appreciated
leopuppy04 replied to Ozone's topic in General Dog Discussion
I agree with others on here. Aussies do vary greatly in activity levels, however on average they are still a working dog, quite active and do need some training and their exercise needs met. Yes, some lines vary, but keep in mind that it is different for breeders etc, who don't live in suburbia or have only one dog etc. On a 30min walk a day, some Aussies could be fine, some not. I know mine would love more exercise. But they also love being with you in the house. I recommend doing your research thoroughly and make sure you are willing to commit to the animal if they turn out to be more active than you planned - is that something you can deal with. This is also across the board with all breeds.
