  4. weird thing is.....people worry bout their dogs not getting tasty food, eg..canned food, no flavour etc.....but the dogs don't seem to care anyway , if they eat stuff like faeces eeeekkkkk
  5. just interested in what it is about cat's poo, that dogs find so enjoyable to eat??? we have a inside cat, so have a kitty litter for her, and i try my hardest to keep it well away from the dogs, and even have a top over it...but they still go to great lenghts to find it and...eeeekkkkkkkk ..... i do worm them all, so hope it isnt a major health problem just curious why why why why?????i do feed them, they arn't starving!! please explains someone, to me thanks

  7. Hi and thanks terrorbull microchip tattoing is not that common yet, i dont think, but some vets are doing the microchip tattoing for owners who have had their dogs microchipped, in thier ears, its a m symbol.... i didn't know about it, till the breeder told me... so yes, hes got one for desexing and one for the microchip. i was reading a link before which was really horrible, where unscrupulous people will do shocking things to a dog to get rid of a id, if they want to sell it!! wont go into detail, its very sick!!
  8. I feel the same way!!!! im a vego too and proud of it!!! I recently hit and killed a wild rabbit on the way to work and cried all the way to work and at work too..sorry if i'm classed as a sook.... and i got really emotional once when my jenna was a young dog, caught a duck and had it in her nmouth at a creek we used to walk along...i managed to get it out....and rescue it..not sure if it died later of shock and i took a pigeon to a vet half dead when it flew into my windscreen, and isaved it!! my husband is a country lad and has done the shooting thing in the past....wild animals.....now hes just as bad as me for saving animals!!
  9. hi... I'm not sure if its the same thing you are talking about, but i think joey's breeder adviced me getting it done, said she had heard and known about it being not wise for smaller dogs especially....and didn't recomend it.. I will look on his sheet later and see what she wrote down about it all...if we talking about the same injection? interesting to read other responses later...
  10. ps...Ann..i forgot all about asking bout his dew claws!!!! oh it was all too much for one day as it was ,i knew i had forgotten something!! xxx
  11. Hi guys, very sweet of u guys to be thinking of us, that touches me! so ive picked him up,, hes feeling very sorry for himself and as i'm typing away hes lying next to me all shaky......on my bed..ive got the heater on..... they gave me a instruction sheet.... aparently his hernia was very large,, so will take time to heal and so will my pocket LOL he had a bit of a ear infection as well.,in both ears....vet said prob just allergy..and given us some drops to put in for 2 weeks..... got to take him back later to have stitches out........ Hes very drowsy atm, vet said he had a longer op that originally planned so will take some time before he's alert.... oh hes had two tattoos, one for the desexing and one for the micro chip id.... well ring up his breeder tonight, she will be pleased to hear that hes ok!!.. juloie-annexx

  15. Anyway we dropped Joey off at vets this morn at 8.30am, and they gave him his pre med with us there...which was nice.... They going to repair his umblical hernia and do his microchip tattoo in his ear at the same time. I t was wierd,, as i was holding him before i left, i got all emotional and teary i felt for him ,, as we have only had him for short time and now i've left him with stangers been told i can pick him up between 4 and 5pm, going to seem like a long day , waiting for him!!
  16. THAnks guys, im really feeling much more relieved now and it just not my joey with one, altho its quite huge, i think now thats another thing white shepherd mum ..hi by the way dew claws,,should i get that done too???hes got them as well
  17. thanks shelly, i feel more relieved now i've done this post, we mothers tend to overeact LOL and it doesn't look like its not going to cost me all my wages, by the sounds! lOL ALTHO the desexing might!! julie-annexx
  18. hmmmmmmm well this post has definantley blown out the theory that 'Top breeders recomend Pal'!!! i best go do some reassing of my dog's diets now i usually have done a bit of everything, very small amounts of tinned food, dry food, bones, left over meat from work, raw and cooked....those dogs meat rolls.... so they have always got a wide variety.. :p
  19. thannks Nadia i'm just used to big dogs apetites, you can see that by jenna photo LOL i will be taking him to the vets within the next 2 weeks anyway thanks again...xxx
  20. thank you Ann and Holly!! its not a tiny one, it quite big in my eyes, not that i know what sizes they can get? but i will have it repaired when he gets desexed then , for sure, hes not eating as much as i thought he would, wonder if its upsetting him???? maybe it just that hes a small dog and he they dont eat much perhaps?? kind regards julie-annne
  21. hmmm wondering if i should post this in the breeder's section, they might know more bout this type of thing?? i wait and see...
  22. I was told by the breeder, my new dog has got one unfortunately....she said vets will either remove them or leave them these days, up to individual vets.... so i asked my vet, when he desexes my new dog soon, what will he do, will the vet didn't answer me personally, the vet nurse did, and said they repair it.. so i dont have any experience in this area can someone explain to me, more about this hernia thing? please and is it going to cost me heaps?? on top of the desexing?? thanks again guys
  23. hi guys thanks for all ur responses!! :D i thort id try washing him first with the aloveen shampoo , before i ring his breeder...its what she suggested anyway to wash him in. its made a slight improvement, but he's still scratching....i didnt get the conditioner tho,,that might make the wash work more still?? i thort it might just be a nervous thing, since hes moved to a new home..ill give it a couple of days and if it continues or gets worse, will ring the breeder for advice. if not ,i'm getting him desexed very soon, and will get him checked out then :D
  24. ok guys, i need your doggy wisdom again My new dog seems to be scratching a a fair bit, i'm trying not to overeact about it LOL....just yet. IVE checked him for fleas or signs of dry skin, can't find any signs.. none of the other animals are scratching...... sO don't want to take him to the vet yet, till i get him desexed...so any ideas what i can do to calm him down a bit...thats safe and low cost and easy to use?? Is there anything i can try before using something that involves washing him , as its very cold atm,.... thanks guys julie-annexx
