Hi, My collie bella digs (but when it's hot) i set up my clam shells and fill it with water (she is also a water bowl swimmer lol) i have found she has stopped digging for now, i have tried the sand pit but she didn't really use it. good luck

My bella (who just turn 3 on sunday ) will paddle in her water bowl even when she is at mum's she does it sometimes. i now have a few extra bowls around the yard. i find when i have her pool filled up she doesn't seem to do it. Bella loves water it could be pouring with rain and she will be sitting in it :p

Oh i'm so sorry to here of your loss!! RIP sweet Roxy girl run free from pain
-
Thank you everyone, i will i just hope this dog is PTS (and i would never wish that on a dog) this dog will do it again just by looking at the state peanut was in the vet said it attacked to kill. RIP peanut wait for loki at the bridge
-
i should add peanut was killed by a dog attack (the other dog got into the yard) where my friend had to stand back and watch as she couldnt get the dog away from him. Peanut never stood a chance he had bits of his insides all over there yard he was alive when they got him to the vet but there was no choice but to put him out of his pain.

I am writing this for a friend who lost there beloved poodle Peanut. Our baby Boy you were old but you never let age bother you. You were taken from us too soon and in such a cruel way you didn't deserve, we are sorry we couldn't save you, and that you were in pain all i could do was sit back and watch i couldn't help you and i will never forgive myself or forget the look of helpness in your eyes i'm so sorry Peanut. You loved playing with you brother lockie and the ferets, Ruby, Basil and Lilly. Loved sun baking and playing tug of war even though you were 13 years old you still played like you were a pup. We are so glad that we found you 11 years ago what we never new was how much love and happiness owning you would bring. Our life will never be the same again. All our love mummy B. grandma J

New Pup & Older Dog. Are They Playing Or Fighting?
collie angel replied to ruthie's topic in Puppy Chat
I have been minding my sisters cattlex kelpie (2.5 years i have had her ggrr) who is now 14yrs old chloe didnt get on well with other dogs so i was really worried when i got bella at 14wks i introduced them slowly but not at home first. I think it was the best thing i have ever done as bella has learn't alot off chloe they play all the time if chloe has had enough she does show her teeth but bella knows its break time and will leave her alone im now worried that if chloe does ever go how will bella cope as they follow each other around all the time. if your boy was really fighting you would know the difference, they are probably having a ball and getting carried away. cute pic she looks so tiny hehe -
oh so sorry for your loss.......................its hard when another dog is left behind my mum had to get another dog a few weeks after her old girl died as there collie was suffering more than we were was a very hard choice but now only 3 months later daisy has made it into my parents heart so quickly and helped them deal with the loss scruffy will never be replaced nor forgotten we talk about her everyday. brandy has another mate to keep her company. but brandy and scruffy lived together for 12 years. you will know when the time is right hugs to you and your sister

Anyone Know Of A Good Dog Groomer
collie angel replied to collie angel's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
thanks guys i have sent my breeder an email this morning to see if she can show me the proper way i did wash he saturday and brushed her in the afternoon but i dont get he as fluffy as pat use to. i do brush her every 2nd or 3rd day to keep it tidy and she gets a good brush on sundays i love doing this so hopefully i can learn to do it myself as i do enjoy it and love spending the time wif bella aswell. Hesapandabear: yes my hubby has a mallie who he owns with his sister shadow lives with them but they share the walking and feeding etc between them they just have a moblie groomer come out they will wash bella but not brush or dry her properly just really towel drying her off. -

It has been a month scruffy girl since you have been gone you will never be forgoten and we will always love you . Your forever mums baby girl....... Brandy misses you so much, more than we would of thought she has been moping around looking depressed and not eating very much we thought in a few days she will be ok but it never happend she lays next to the garage where behind steve had put you after we found you or she will get into the pool yard when someone is there and lay next to the side of the pool where you were found she knows your gone and she must feel you close there. she is stopping zac form getting near the water things she has never done before. She really did love you and i guess after living together for 12 years it is hard on her to as you were there first. We finally had to get a friend for her she will never be you but she will be special in her own way she is filling a void that you have left and for once evryone is smiling something that hasn't been done in a while. Brandy is coming back to life agian. i hope cadbury, blue and ceaser and looking after you. Scruff you may have gone but you are never far from our thoughts or our heart. xoxoxoxoxox

When bella went to puppy school they told us to use cabanossi also i did for the first week she loved it but i changed to doggy treats but didn't also reward her with food as i didn't want to keep doing it that way. We also used clickers which work very well with her, i was surprised how well she did. good luck

my brother brought home scruffy yesterday she is now sitting in the cabinet with her brothers. you can now rest in peace scruff and you will never be forgoten by all who loved you..

thank you it very hard for her atm and there collie is pining for her friend she won't leave the spot closest to the edge of the pool where she was found so dad took her over and let her smell her so she knew she was gone if she doesn't cheer up they might get another dog but won't be the same... mum was saying things are started to add up she wouldn't eat he chocie biscuit on saturday night she lost control of her bladder as well inside and she never does that so thats why we think she has gone to do a pee in th garden and had a fit or something and slipped in the water. They took her to the vet this morning as none were open and she wanted her to go to our vet (they had a vet day so were closed) and the vets were so good she is getting cremated to join her brother cats. Mjosa: yes they were soul mates and will be missed by all who knew her
