  1. Anyone heading over towards the coast or up to Wollongong from inland at all that could help with transport? It seems she might have a home ;)
  2. Oh few, that was sounding ridiculous, not too bad if you are restricted to a single area but for a state wide mob it would have been mad!
  3. Oh that's a lovely offer Iggy but I'd feel bad. Usually it would be OK but it's just been a bad few weeks. She's gorgeous though and I mentioned her to my husband and he actually didn't sound that concerned by the idea LOL
  4. Sigh, I was quietly hoping she was already desexed. Without the desexing cost I would have considered taking her but two dogs needing the vet at the moment is starting to take it's toll on the finances.
  5. Wow, that's still potentially huge! Any rescues able to add to this, what happenss if it's a pound you've never rescued from before and they weren't involved in giving their support for the 16D, does that screw up your ability to rescue that animal?
  6. Oh she's so pretty! If only i could hide her from my husband LOL. She sounds very similar to what Amber was like when she arrived, so scared but lots of potential. Does she need any vet work done? what are their adoption terms?
  7. I already looked at that but do you seriously need to get written stuff from every single council? we are a statewide organisation so that is potentially hundreds of councils?
  8. I have said i will assist the rescue I am now with to obtain their 16D status for their NSW foster carers. can anyone tell me how I am best to go about this?
  9. Could you maybe just walk your dog on the footpath for a few weeks until pup has atleast a second vacc. It's still not a iron clad guarantee but probably less chance there than at a dog park.
  10. have you tried the balance the treat on the nose one yet, i once saw a dog that was so good at that and couldn't take it until he was looking intently at his owner.
  11. Our basset ate ratsack, not that much, but she is OK after being on Vitamin k.
  12. Oh yay! I was so paranoid it wouldn't fit LOL. With her dimensions being all weird at the moment it just didn't look right :) Will that belly strap be long enough for a while? If it starts to get short on her send me a message and I can throw a little extender in the post for you.
  13. I would put her in the car, march down there and plonk in the waiting room as an emergency and just say she needs to be seen. No reasonable person would begrudge an emergency case running their appointment late and if they do it's their problem!
  14. Could you lean a whole bunch of blankets or pillows against one side of the crate so she can lie/lean on her side but still be upright. Maybe she just wants to be upright, I know after I had my spleen out I was quite comfortable sitting up to sleep by lying down was awful.
  15. Ah well they are definately not in that area, one of my common haunts the chicken wire aisle ;)
  16. I'll have good look when I go in at the end of the week but I've never seen them there and the ladies at Bunnings are talking about setting me up a bunk so i can just stay there, I have been known to serve people while I'm there because I know the stock so well.
  17. To me it sounds like that poor dog is very stressed out by the fact that it is being forced in to situations in which is is clearly uncomfortable. Is it a large class? Maybe the trainer needs to somehow seperate the class in to smaller groups so that he doesn't feel like he's surrounded by so many other dogs and gradually work him up to being in a larger group. Not a whole lot you can do though probably other than maybe have a quiet word with your usual trainer next week about the close contact and how uncomfortable it made you, maybe you could segue into a chat about that dog and what is and isn't working from the perspective of someone else in the class.
  18. Wow, I've never seen these at my bunnings, might see if they can special order me one, it'd be a great spare if needed
  19. Make sure she is warm. If the house is cold it might be worth upping the temo by a couple of degrees. Shaking can be a sign of shock although it's been going for a while so it's probably not but being warm often helps.
  20. Poor thing sounds exhausted. probably a good chance that if you can get that other pain killer in to her she'll relax enough to fall asleep if she's so far gone she's pretty much falling asleep on her feet.
  21. Maybe she has sore tummy, what about some warmth from a wheat bag or similiar. My lovely neighbour had heart surgery recently and the thing he gets the most relief from when his stitches are hurting is a hot water bottle.
