Damn straight, I'd be tempted to do it anyway, doesn't sound like a very responsible owner to me

Surely finding out why it happens would make no difference to whether these dogs would be put to sleep.

I have a feeling he is in the cupboard where I have the baby clothes put away and I actually promised someone I'd get them out tonight to see if they want to buy any so hopefully I'll find him in there :) -
No, I'd like to work at a ppound or shelter though, it's somewhere I think I could actually make a real difference. It's quite amusing really because obviously the owner is quite happy to have puppies for sale there but there are a couple of us staff who are involved in rescue and try to ensure that things are done relatively responsibly. The other chick got the welfare league cats in there and will quite happily refuse to sell a pup to someone if she doesn't think they'll gt it desexed, etc, and tried to organise for people who bring pups in to get the parents desexed at welfare rates, it's not perfect but it's probably better than would be happening if we weren't there.

A large warehouse type pet supplies shop, I'm not a fan of the whole puppy side of things(and do often quietly steer people towards rescue if possible :p ) but at the moment it's the only job I can get. We do have welfare league cats in though rather than just selling byb ones and it's more pet supplies, we don't have zillions of apuppies all the time if you know what I mean, I just try to avoid that side of things as much as possible.

I'm so happy to take a photo if I can find him... I made a chicken that parachuted from 10 metres, landed and laid a raw egg, it was pretty awesome LOL. It was about 8 years ago now and I never could bare to part with him :) -

It's amazing what you can do with one of those cheap camping mats. I once won $1000 and three slabs of red bull with a creation i made out of one LOL -
I once came across a link to the website of a 'pit bull' breeder and was shocked to see the descriptions he had on his breeding dogs. Referring to his sires as 'awesome savage beasts with bad attitudes' and the like. It's guys like that who have ruined what was originally a good breed unfortunately.

Not citrus growing country here unfortunately. -
Bull breeds in general share a lot of similiar facial characteristics which can make it hard for some people to distinguish them. If people can't tell what my basset hound is they have no hope of accurately identifying a pit bull. They do have an acceptable name, it American staffordshire bull terrier. The generl public thankfully doesn't understand that they are essentially the same animal otherwise I'm sure they would be tarred as well. We get a fair few people in at work asking if we ever get amstaffs and we always tell them to go to a registered breeder and get a papered dog because apart from the BYB aspect it's not worth the risk of having a dog that could be identified as a pitty

Our tip shop often has ute canopies for sale, seriously thinking about turning one into a bed for the dogs when I move :) The best one i got so far was a huge wooden box that new tyres are delivered to the shop in, it turned in to a little night pen for the three chooks we had at the time and worked really well. -
I bought a couple of these cheapo dog beds when i was looking for something easy to train my basset with. They arrived today. they are fairly cheap and nasty :p but for the price I am still pretty happy with them. Thought they might actually be good for rescue or whatever where a sick dog may mean throwing the bed away or for someone with a young puppy in the destructo stage until they settle. Personally I have used them to line the girls plastic shell beds and I am quite happy with them, the girls think they are great as you can see in the photos. the huge size(and it's huge!) costs about $8.50 I'm also going to put them in the back of the car when we travel as they squish down very small. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Soft-Pet-Dog-Puppy-Cat-Warm-Bed-House-Plush-Cozy-Nest-Mat-Pad-Mat-Cushion-futon-/350779731694?pt=US_Pet_Beds&var=&hash=item51ac19eeee

From what i can see on the footage this happened on a suburban street outside houses, the jogger quite possibly didn't even see the dogs if they rushed out of a yard or similiar. We aren't talking about dogs loose on a footy oval or whatever where there is high visibility.

Seriously though they do take to a new name very quickly. We renamed our first cat from the prvious owners dodgy name(eiyore-don't ask me how that's spelt!) to Alley and she pciked it up fine and our second cat was 18 months when she arrived and knew her new name within a few days.

I haven't worked out the exacts ins and outs yet but I'm planning a trip to melbourne next week, we'd be travelling from the Sth Coast via Nerriga to Goulburn and then down the Hume to Melbourne(Glen Waverley area via Bulleen). Most likely travelling either Sunday or Monday next week depending on what happens with a couple of other things(final decision to be made tomorrow). Coming home probably on Thursday and maybe staying Jugiong for the night at an animal friendly camping spot. My dogs will pretty much be occupying the boot but I will have the front passenger seat free and don't mind squishing in some smaller critters(cats or small dogs/puppies) than can travel in smallish crates or one car savvy dog that will happily sleep on the seat/in the footwell if it's any help to anyone out there. I can also supply up to four cat size crates if needed(some are pretty old but functional :) ) I can't transport any animals who are unwell as I have dogs and cats of my own.
