  1. The dogs are washed regularly and I've got a couple of layers over the foam now but they are still starting to smell like old feet LOL. Hence I thought something I could wash would be better and then I'll just throw them through the wash the same night I bath the dogs. Gonna try and get up the energy tonight to make some, i have rolls and rolls of faux fur in the cupboard and all sorts of other fabric and some wadding too, I'm just so trashed from working fulltime and having no help at home, I can see myself running my hand under the sewing machine LOL
  2. Nawwww, she's gorgeous! Looks pretty full breed kelpie to me.
  3. For some reason I can't open the link so was only going on what was on this thread.
  4. I think it only matters from a perspective of learning what went wrong and what might be done better next time. Other than that sadly I'd be making that exact same decision in the circumstances.
  5. Thanks, does it stay in place well or will it just end up all over the place in the plastic bed when she moves around?
  6. Will vet bed lose fluff in the washing machine?
  7. Just googled, I see it's fluffy, still probably not as padded as I would like though although if it's rubber backed I suppose I could use it to make a cover for the foam and then just take the foam out for washing.
  8. That's a thin foam type stuff isn't it? I'm wanting something more snuggly for them :p
  9. I need mats for the girls oval plastic shell beds that will handle being thrown in the washing machine on a weekly basis. I'm finding their current mats are starting to smell pretty bad and they are hard to wash. Can anyone recommend something that isn't going to fall apart or get clumpy filling with regular washing?
  10. I have taken my dogs to work but as I work at a pet store everyone is naturally very dog friendly LOL. Usually only take them if they are going to the groomers and drop them off in the morning, pick them up at lunch and then they chill at work for the rest of the day.
  11. I'd just like to say that I'm going to feel very cheated if she gets out of that without a single stretch mark LOL
  12. OK, I'll have a think. Doesn't bother me getting up that early, just not sure if I'm keen to tangle with kamakaze kangaroos at that time of day along the back roads.
  13. I don't mind the cold, just hoping it's not torrential rain! Apart from the race I don't like driving the road to get over there in the wet as it's not fully sealed.
  14. I've bought that once before and I'm pretty sure it was just at the supermarket, Coles or Woolies
  15. Personally I would like to see something at these events that educates people about the benefits of choosing a registered breeder. They might have bought their current doggy from a pet shop and that's OK but maybe they might make a different decision next time. Would need to be someone approachable and friendly who isn't going to be 'judgy' about decsions that may have made in the past but will share info in a non-judgemental way.
  16. Sounds great, I work Saturdays but it's only a couple of hours drive for us so we might try and make it on Sunday, is it usually still a big day on Sunday or much smaller than Saturday?
  17. I would report that Emgen, my toddler daughter got bit on the face by a dog like that, she had a scratch about 1/2 cm from here eye so the result could have been much worse.
  18. Just wondering how far in advance I can/should be making bookings for show weekends to ensure i don't miss out? I would prefer a powered site but would take an unpowered if that was all that was available. The other location that I am likely to travel to is Canberra so if anyone can advise what the caravan/camping situation(if they have any?) is for shows over there I'd be grateful. Also if I am showing in Canberra do i need to be a member of the state body there in order to use their camping facilities or is dogs NSW membership reciprical for camping, etc?
  19. Wow what a belly! Hope she's been doing her kegals LOL She's like one of those balloons you get at the hospital in the shape of animals... :p
  20. I hope you don't mind me adding a question here Haylz but something you said got me thinking. At least to start with is it possible for a registered breeder to not have a stud dog of their own and always selectively choose stud dogs from others lines or does everyone pretty much have their own stud that they use some of the time? I know the breeder that my neuter girl is coming from does two of her own in house matings and every third is an outcross to someone elses lines, just curious what the most common strategy is there?
  21. Apparently they were raising money to pay for a prophylactic mastectomy and breast reconstruction for a lady with the really nasty breast cancer gene. It's a worthy cause since the surgery isn't government funded and usually costs anywhere up to $50,000 but having a first prize in a raffle of a puppy not surprisingly got a lot of people off side.
