There are the action harnesses that go around their waist as well, designed for search and rescue dogs, etc so they can be lifted up cliffs and things like that. Not cheap but might work. They have loops on the back so you could attach a seat belt attachment

The roadie looks pretty good, crosses over on the chest so would be very hard to slip out of

Young Schoolgirls Asking To Take The Dogs For A Walk
kelpiecuddles replied to Boronia's topic in General Dog Discussion
I used to walk dogs when I was a teenager for a local lady but I had grown up with dogs, was tall and very strong for my age and was dog savvy even as a teen. Looking at my own kids I could see some of them being fine doing it at 14-15 and others not being good candidates for that sort of job so I do think to some extent it depends on the teenager. -
Urgent Help For Great Dane At Renbury Farm

Someone in Ballarat was saying that he might be going down there. Does anyone know what group that might be? (I don't want to put the name here for privacy reasons but anyne who's a member of Aussie Pound and Rescue Transport on facebook can see, it's the top post https://www.facebook.com/groups/291294690883176/?fref=ts -
A breeder of bull terriers I know warned me not to go near the whelping box when I was at her place as her bitch that had puppies at that time was very defensive(fine with her but not so good with unknown people). From what she said it sounded like it was quite common in that breed, I've met said dog at other times and she's lovely, not a snappy bone in her but she was a changed woman with some puppies to defend!. I suppose the hormones would be raging and telling them to protect their pups...

There was someone on a transport page asking whether anyone could help transport him so I was hoping that meant he was safe. Fingers crossed he is! -

Finding A Breeder Of A Rescue Dog
kelpiecuddles replied to HappyCamper's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Do you by any chance have a birthdate or month or even just a year for him? I went through basset litters to hunt for ones from the same year when trying to locate the breeder of the one we were working with. -
Whippet Missing In Canberra

Just a thought but school holidays have started in some areas, wondering whether someone might have been holidaying with their dog and pushed a wooden stake in to the ground to tie the dog to while they were stopped somewhere. -
New Puppy Questions- The First Week And Establishing A Routine.
kelpiecuddles replied to mfch's topic in Puppy Chat
My only advice would be to make sure your new pup also gets used to spending some time alone without the other dog. One thing I always wished I did for my basset who is 4 years younger than her 'big sister' and now extremely dependant on her(barks and carries on if I have to take the kelpie out somewhere without the basset). -
My Greyhounds Were Attacked Today :(
kelpiecuddles replied to HazyWal's topic in General Dog Discussion
I thought it was 14 days and they get a dangerous dog title not 14 days and the issue is cleared? That 14 days gives them a chance to prove innocence and if they don't then they have to comply with dangerous/menacing dog requirements -

Does the council realise you were injured as a result of the attack too? Surely if a human was injured they are forced to take a harder line approach than simply if they attack another animal? I'm not angling for the dogs to be euthed but I do think they need to have some sort of order to ensure they are appropriately contained. -
Help Needed Hand Raising Newborn Litter
kelpiecuddles replied to Airedaler's topic in General Dog Discussion
Do you think it's an issue of dollars? I'm wondering whether having spent all that money on ceasar, etc, maybe she's just seeing all the moeny going in to it and it's getting on top of her? Maybe point out that if she doesn't get the pups treated then all that money spent to get them out safely, etc will have been for naught if they die from a treatable illness. I know it's a very pragmatic way to think of it and not how we here would like to but for many that is a reality that they think of. -

I would take photos of every single one of yours and your dogs injuries, label each picture specifically with who it is and what the injury is and give the stack to her so she can look at them herself, print out a copy of each too for the council and keep them for your own records. Also get a report from your doctor itemising you hand, ribs and foot and the injuries that are being checked and treated. -

You probably pulled muscles twisting around while trying to help them, I've ended up with sore ribs after my kids have done stupid things and I've had to lunge at unnatural angles to try to catch them LOL -

Hopefully Maddie might be inclined to follow Stan's 'positive attitude' example! -
Any Guinea Pig Rescues?
kelpiecuddles replied to mixeduppup's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Aww that's rough MUP, my mum is having problems with cats near hers at the moment too. If you were closer they could have come and lived with my girls, my three boys are shelties so i know how important it is they are with someone that will groom them too! -
