Beagles are fantastic dogs (not that I am biast or anything ) but they will bark and howl when they are bored or lonely like any other dog. What is her nightly routine? Is she inside with you or outside alone? Does she get enough exercise and mental stimulation before going to bed to make her sleep the whole night through?

Great news Zahra is feeling one hundred percent better :D She is eating well and is running around like a crazy girl and playing with the big boys even though they are still not sure of her She's on antibotics for 2 weeks and also has to have the scourban for another three days but I'm sure she will be fine :D Thanks for all your kind thoughts she certianly did have me worried there for awhile. -

Thanks you guys ;) Zahra went back to the vet this morning poor little love that she is. She has had an injection of antibotic and has some tablets to take at home and also some scourban to help with her diarrhea. The vet said it is very unlikely to be parvo as she is not vomitting etc. the most likely cause is the stress of leaving mum and coming to a new home and also a bad case of worms which has now been taken care of. The vet said she should improve within 12 hours but if there was no change to call them straight away and that she would have to go on an IV drip. Fingers crossed we see that improvement and she'll be on the mend tomorrow. She's sleeping now but hasn't eaten anything so far today... -
Well done Miss Molly!!! She's a real credit to you Bel! Wanna train mine???

Please Help! Greyhound Puppy Won't Eat Much

The pups name is Zahra. I am getting increasingly more worried about the fact that her poo is like water and have noticed some red colour (possibly blood) in it and she is groaning when going to the toilet. I will be on the phone to the vet straight away in the morning but I am very worried. -

Thanks Showdog will try the pumpkin or potato and see if she will eat that. I am just a bit worried about her because her stools are like water and there has been no change for the better, in fact it could be a bit worse because they are a bit more watery. She is generally happy in herself, plays and runs with the other dogs, drinks plenty of water just a bit off her food, she did have 3 meals today though. Hopefully tomorrow sees a marked improvement, if not I will be calling the vet. -

Thanks guys. I think me being stressed stressed her out if that makes sense. Has been a very busy couple of days for the little girl and she is just so young and little. Yeah the poor little girl had worms but haven't seen any sign of any today and will discontinue the milk for now. I offered her the advanced puppy again but she turned her nose up at it so she had another chicken neck (mashed up) this afternoon after she woke from a sleep and then tonight for dinner she had roast chicken (I just happened to cook that for dinner) and some rice and she ate it all up which is good, I think too that I have to remember that she is so young and what may seem like a small amount will actually be enough to fill her up. Thanks again guys Anne -
Hi guys, I have just gotten a greyhound puppy on Sunday and am having some problems with her eating. She is 6 and a half weeks old and won't eat much at all. She was being fed on puppy pal and i gave this to her the first night, she ate some but not much. I've offered her science diet and supercoat puppy dry mixed with warm water and watered down skim milk and will drink the milk solution but won't touch the dry food. Tried her on advance puppy food and she ate it this morning but won't have a bar or it this afternoon. I gave her a chicken neck with she did eat, but when I offered her another one she won't eat it. She was vaccinated yesterday but seems in good spirits is drinking water and running around and does sleep a lot. Her poo is also worrying me because it is like water. She was wormed Sunday and there was evidence of rather large worms sunday and monday but none today but it hasn't thickened up any. The vet said it should be ok in a few days but I am worried. She's only 2.5kgs. Any help or suggestions would be muchly appreciated. Thanks Anne

Gracesmum is right my dali Jake is nearly 4 and he is still very much a puppy though he doesn't display the destructa dog behaviour much nowadays thank godness He is certainly more mature than he was at 6 months old (when I got him) but I think he'll retain his puppiness until he is an old man Can't wait for puppy girl to get here but she will just grow up so fast

What Type Of Food Reward Do You Use?
Cheyenne_Fury replied to Embellish's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I'm with baileyb i use different foods for different situations. For training at home I just use kibble or cheese or something else i happen to have on hand at the time. When out for walks and going to the park they get liver treats and for agility my boy jake gets cabana and cheese or VIP chunkers (cut up) the smellier the better. Don't need half as many treats now for agility because he loves it and the particular piece of equipment that we are working on (we are only in level 2) or the combination of equipment is reward enough for him to want to do it again -

Great to hear another Dali entering the world of agility. Jake (my dali) and I started agility a couple of months ago and we love it. It's funny to watch our class though because all the other dogs are of working breeds and then there is my dali He loves it and we have great fun -
Also if you are not already taking her to obedience training then i would most definately recommend it. Not only will you both learn things it can be a lot of fun too

A trip to the vet can't hurt but I have always used benadryl with great results. Maybe give your vet a call and see what they suggest.

Saltwood so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of your girl.

Cheyenne_Fury replied to Erny's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Oh no. Poor Kal and poor you Erny. You must be beside yourself not being able to find out what is wrong with your girl. I hope that things look up for Kal and she starts to feel better and that you can get to the bottom of the problems she is having. My thoughts are with both of you Anne -
Hedds your words are beautiful and have me in tears. I'm sure that is just what the gorgeous Dodgey is doing right now!

Pet Food Survey - For Colledge ;)
Cheyenne_Fury replied to Ittybitty_'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My two dogs are feed slightly differently. Murray the older boy is feed supercoat light and mature, raw bones and the occasionally vegies, rice, tined salmon or tuna, and raw eggs. Jake my 4 year old is feed supercoat adult with raw bones and occasional vegies, rice, tined salmon or tuna and raw eggs. Anne -
Fairwell to the gorgeous Choc Lab Boy Dodge. Courageous, Brave, Energetic and lovable are just a few words to describe the character of this special boy. Dodge was such a character, so full of life and loved by all that knew him. He was a great playmate and loved nothing better than a good run and a bit of rough and tumble. We love you mate and miss you dearly. May he forever run free and be happy. :D

So sorry for your loss MM. Run free old Mack

My Poor Murray Dog Is Sick
Cheyenne_Fury replied to Cheyenne_Fury's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi guys Thanks for being concerned about my Murray boy It did take poor old Murray awhile to recover from his illness. He was given a full course of antiboitics and has since been back to the vet for a check up and is back to his old self. He is still a bit quieter than he was and still loves getting under my bed for some reason (once he discovered that he can actually fit under there I have trouble getting him out :D)... As the vet reminded me he is getting on in years and that I will notice him slowing down a lot of over the next few months, but as long as he is happy and healthy then he will be fine. I have been taking it easy with him and not doing too much training, but he seems to love it so much that we will be heading back to training in a few weeks and seeing how he goes. Anne
