something interesting and something i thought i would share, i have been helping a family with their little dog, health issues for a long time,and over the years they have tried everything, blood tests say she is alergic to Elm Trees but there are no Elm trees near their home, so the only thing that has not changed through out this little girls life is her spot on flea treatment, so l asked them to give her a break from it, and no surprise her issues are nearly cleared up, so its not always diet,but may not always be spot on either it can be a combination of things, Just thought i would share Regards Sherel

Hi SilverHaze We do have lots of plans Not sure if it will help your racing crew, but we have other race people Sibes & Mals using our puppy formula in race season, it has the same amount of protein but 3% less fat, the others say they are happy with how their race dogs are going, we also have a Greyhound doing well racing on the adult formula, but different type of atheletes Regards Sherel

The old bag only had 100% Australian Made on it too & I raised it with Sherel. It is 100% Oz made, produce of & owned, so maybe she feels that by saying it is 100% Oz made, that it covers the product from paddock to plate. I agree with you though, that something like 100% Australian Owned & made & 100 % product of Australia would be better, or just 100% product of Australia would probably cover it all. I have no idea about BH, but those terms have specific meanings and "Australian Made" is about the site of manufacture, it doesn't mean Australian product is used although it may be. This is from Wikipedia but it's a nice summary: The definition for Australian Made means that the product is substantially transformed in Australia and at least 50 per cent of the cost of production has been incurred in Australia. The definition used for Product of Australia requires that the product has all, or nearly all, of the manufacturing or processing carried out in Australia and that all of the products significant ingredients come from Australia. The definition for Australian Grown is that each significant ingredient has been grown in Australia and all or virtually all of the production processes have occurred in Australia. thanks for that diva :) i guess therefore that 100% australian made means that the product is wholly transformed in australia and so therefore 100% of the cost... as for the other two definitions, only sherel can say for certain --- it'd be a comfort to have both shown on the packaging in any event :) i had a similar thing happen only i was looking to replace food bowls; walked in, saw the kitties, backed out... your friend is best to contact her closest distributor and have it delivered to her door :)

BlackHawk is 100% Australian Made with 100% Australian ingredients , with our micro ingredients again we source them from Australia but sometimes demand out weighs supply in those cases we source from around the world the best available micro ingredients from the human supply chain which means those ingredients are also used in human food in Australia. if a country is to supply our micro ingredients they have to prove extensive testing and reports as our micro ingredients are human grade. 100% Australian owned as you can imagine designing the branded bags, organising the text etc was a long task back n forth the the designers, we have some how missed the adding Australian ingredients text, but it will be added on our next run of printed bags. Great store you have there at Beaconsfield, easy to park especially doing deliveries, The ferret guy called me today from the Vic Ferret Society, wanted to thank us for the feline food and let me know how well the ferrets are doing on BlackHawk feline, i could not believe how many ferrets they rescue, a really nice guy very passionate about the ferrets,was nice to hear Regards Sherel Retailers can get it, I sell it in my store for $82 (bit less for Dogs Vic & DOL members). Whereabouts in Melb are you, my store is in Beaconsfield. I have a couple of regular customers who buy it (one does ferret rescue and that is what he feeds them)

Hi Chezy & Chopper Almost all pet foods contain 'ash' in their formulations. Some choose not to list their ash. Since some may think of ash in the context of fireplace residue and assume that fireplace ash has been added to perhaps bulk up the food. This is not the case. Ash is not an additive in pet food. In fact, it is quite the reverse. Measuring existing ash content in a sample of pet food is a way of determining and describing the maximum mineral content of the food. The reason it is called ash is that, if you heat a sample of pet food to burn off all the organic components (which are combustible), you are left with the inorganic residue, which denotes the level of mineral in the sample, since minerals are the only inorganic (non-combustible) elements. The ash reported on a label represents the cumulative total of all the minerals found in that food. The ash component of our food on analysis sits around the 9 ½ % we allow the extra 1 ½ % on our label as it’s the Maximum ash content, These minerals are primarily potassium and phosphorous, with smaller amounts of iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc and sodium, as well as trace amounts of many other minerals.
