well there not going to get experience sitting back and handling only 3 breeds of dog... for the protection part in schutzhund it lasts 2 minutes....i cannot name a dog that cant work for 2 minutes, its got nothing to do with the speed/time anyway most judges critiques these days are that dogs are rushing through everything too fast and arent doing it properly it maybe about gaining titles now, but it used to be about breed assesment not glorifying yourself with your dogs titles you can always make a sleeve harder, i have had various mastiff breeds on my bite arm and have had no problems
-
i said before any dog can do schutzhund but its upto the discretion of the club...sadly most clubs arent moving forwad there moving back, and they wonder why they got less than 20 people to attend the nationals last year edit for spelling
-
homeless people...that way no dogs are treated badly and homeless people get fed
-
they wont be expecting too much, they will just be looking for a happy and confident dog it depends on who does the asessment on the dog to what they do, the dog shouldnt be put under any pressure they will mainly just be playing with the dog and seeing how it reacts to various situations if the dog is already highly playfull it would be a start otherwise theres a little bit of extra work trying to build up the dogs prey/play drives
-
i would suggest going down to your local schutzhund club and talking with one of trainers first, then they will set aside some time to do an assesment with your dog there are puppy classes for people who want to do schutzhund so ur pup can start learning from as young as 8 weeks old theres also been a few older dogs starting at 5 yrs old and they have done really well

myszka - because im a big girl  lol i wouldnt have known what to say the only groups there are is the 3 diferent schutzhund levels, it depends on the club on the breeds, i havent seen anything apart from shepherds rottys and dobes compete, but maybe at club training they have different breeds? to start up all you needs is a dog who likes to play with lots of drive,
