Brought her home this afternoon. Vet thinks it may have been a mild stroke since everything else is OK. She is currently snuggled on dad's lap...
-
She was like her old self when I visited her at evts. Saturday night she was really lopsided. Have had a dog who had seizures and this was different... Will go and visit her again tomorrow. She's not eating and still on the drip...
-
All the bloodwork came back normal... we are all baffled...
-
Well the news is not so good. Maddie is at the vet on a drip. We are waiting for bloodwork to come back. Diabetes, kidney problems or an inner ear infection (not likely) are being touted. She went down hill again, so will stay at vet till sorted. Poor little old chookie...
-
Well... she's fine...no idea what it was but no signs of anything drastic... she's back to her old self, including bossing Keera around and taking up what bed is left after the Queen of the Doona lobs in.... She's keeping everyone guessing...
-
Hi all Maddy is much better today.. stil a bit wonky and 'out there'
-
Ok Ta Jacq... Have Nutrigel. She tried to have a drink a while ago and it went everywhere but down her throat. She's snuggled on a polarfleece blanket and has a lighter blankie over her... Poor old chook, she's a real darling.
-
Yep all off on one side. The sounds is a cross between a whimper and a growl... No seizures at all.
-
Anyone??? She's sleeping now. This will be a long night methinks....
-
She is currently on the lounge covered with a blankie. She is awake but not quite with it. Edit to add... 14 year old Chi (not that that makes much diff)
-
She's walking sort of lopsided and making a weird noise.

Anyone know what to look for? The vet isn't answering.

Is It Important To Desex A Male Dog?
Rozzie replied to Haze's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Rascal is just gorgeous. And so is Cherish. We have a little dog here who had testicular cancer when we rescued him. He is about 8 years old. He was desexed but the cancer has spread, so we don't know how long we have left with him. It is not something that I hope to see again. Pleased that you are taking Rascal to the vet. -
Nike which area do you live in?
-
Can you sweet talk the woman who rescued her into accommodation?
-
Sounds like our club. A quiet revolution is going on there tho... flat collars, food rewards and clickers are slowly finding their way...
-
I hope if you get someone responding to your Trading Post ad, that you will be honest with them about his 'issues'. Would you sell him to someone with children? Can your partner take him to obedience? Get him desexed.
-
Any update on your dog?
-
Sorry for your loss Bob.
-
Karen I am really sorry to read this about Wags... can they tell you if the cancer has spread past his leg? If not, get it taken off... if the other options are the only ones... go with 4. It's hard but I know what you're going through...

You're right Dan. They don't want to spend the money. They want us to pay. I have it on very good authority that she was in good health when she arrived. I will keep her here if we get her back. Poor girl.

All the treatment has been prescribed by a GP vet. She has gone to a change in climate... from dry to humid. Also I'm sure there are plants and grasses where she is that don't exist here. We had her in care for approx 3 months. She lives beachfront now. She wasn't fed roo here. She had science diet puppy or chicken mince, veggies and rice... which the adopters were told. It is all rather distressing as we know what condition she left us in and what she was like when she arrived there. It also amazes me that after three months we get demands and accusations... surely if there was such a major problem you'd expect them to make contact earlier. Considering what they have said she was like on arrival, I would have expected a phone call that day?!? Maybe I'm weird? I would just like her back.

This pup has so far had prescribed in order... cortisone, Malaseb and Cold Tar washes. Then, higher dose of cortisone and a antihistamine. Then, aloe vera, Pinetarsol, Quit itch. Cold pressed sunflower oil was added to her meal of kangaroo meat. ?????? Help
