Hopefully there will be some pics of today's session. I love the way their noses go when they catch the scent. There was a slight breeze this morning but they found upwind as well as downwind. Next week is graduation.

None today, the park we train at is underwater.

My new puppy arrives in 3 weeks. I don't know if I should get a second metal crate. Fern uses hers for traveling in the car. I have a soft crate but am reluctant to use it in the car. The metal crate also attaches easily to the puppy pen.

The tree was amazing. Considering Fern is 10 inches tall and the scent was 3 feet up.

Next week we are starting at 8.30am. The park should be a whole new experience at that time of the day.

We scented a car today. She also successfully found in a tree.

Had an ancient rescue called Miss Jenny, after my granddaughter's kindy teacher. Husband's has Dominic and had Errol and Daniel. I've always wanted a Mini Dachsie called Johann Sebastian with the call name Bach.

Two uncles in the industry. One whose ex racers live IN the house, sleep on big comfy beds, pets first and foremost who have earned their retirement benefits. (Their kennels are pretty extravagant as well and just outside the back door.) Other uncle, who knows where his ex-racers go. Totally different treatment of dogs, both racing and retired. I don't have photos. My great aunt, long since passed, had Greys who lived the life of luxury in her terrace house when they finished racing.

Fern has several Nina Otterson puzzle toys. They were mastered rather quickly. Nosework is more challenging than they were.

:) Really? LOL - I just enjoyed the ride. It's so great when you get to the point where they know where it is and you have NFI. Such a fun sport. Yep. I have to sit on my hands and let her work it out, lol. We knew where the first couple of hides were.

I'm learning patience.

We had our second class yesterday. On to birch in a tin. Fern did ok. She was as good as the Shepherd. We must look an odd bunch, a big GSD and a teeny Mini Foxie. They were both worn out by the end of the class.

First class this afternoon. Homework: desensitise to small cardboard boxes. She'll happily sit in a big one, but you want me sticking my nose in a little one, forget it. It was fun and she was exhausted at the end.
