Thankyou all... she was a special old girl...
  2. Old Thomas was sleeping on Mr R's lap. He had a stretch, a sigh and closed his eyes for the last time. He is sadly missed. Night, night, Tommy boy... our little womble dog. Waiting with the others.... He loved babies

  4. What a beautiful tribute to two much loved donkeys.... So terribly sorry for your loss... Run free Conchita and James... going out to give my Pancho a hug....
  5. I'm hopeless at grooming and all mine look stupid after they're done.... but no where near as stupid as our poor Belgian who now looks like a poodle (with straight hair). The funniest I saw was an OES groomed at the vet... shaved clean except fpr a topknot...

  7. I will lend you for a while, a German Shepherd pup, God said, For you to love him while he lives, and mourn him when he's dead. Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe two or three, But will you, 'till I call him back, take care of him for me. He'll bring his charms to gladden you and should his stay be brief, You'll always have his memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return But there are lessons taught below I want this pup to learn. I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true, And from the folk that crowd's life's land, well I have chosen you. Now will you give him all your love, Nor think the labor vain, Nor hate me when I come to take my Shepherd back again. I fancied that I heard them say "Dear Lord Thy Will be Done," For all the joys this pup will bring, the risk of grief we'll run. We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may And for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay. But should you call him back, much sooner than we've planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand. If, by our love, we've managed, your wishes to achieve, In memory of him we loved, to help us while we grieve, When our faithful friend departs this world of strife, We'll have yet another German Shepherd and love him all his life. Author unknown Sorry for your loss Frank... run free Jessy...

  19. Old Bess went to sleep in the sun this morning... Mr R found her sleeping still when he came home from work... Last night she was chasing the thunder and lightning... today she is gone... We are heartbroken... RIP Bess... She came here with her little friend, Snuffy... Beautiful, beautiful girl...
  20. Foo is a three year old Shih tzu... he sucks Mr R's fingers when he goes to sleep...
  21. What about the night chorus howling? The big dogs sleep in the enclosed verandah at night and sometimes when one or two go out for a piddle, they start to bark... who knows at what... roos or foxes most likely... this starts the rest of them off... then the howling starts... it doesn't last for long but it's damn annoying... we could shut the backyard off from the rest of the house yard, but after the theft we incurred a few weeks ago, I don't want to get upi in the morning and find something else gone...
  22. Has it been really windy? Ours (some of) got gunky eyes after the huge wind a week or so ago...
