  1. Shilohs are GSD x Malamute. Then there are the King Shepherds: Shiloh x Pyrenees
  2. We supervised the introductions carefully. Now the Belgian plays with the kittens. They both love the Terrier and rub round him and lick him.
  3. I feel sorry for the Husky. It seems to get no interaction and it howls all night some nights. ACO = animal control officer
  4. They all rent and the landlord is like tits on a bull. Personally, this dog needs a secure run, at the very least.
  5. Thanks RSG, I'll tell her to write it all down. Sarge is OK.
  6. My daughter has a small, elderly terrier cross. Her next door neighbours have a Husky. The Husky jumped the dividing fence (5' paling) and attacked little Sarge. Luckily daughter was home or it could have been much worse. The neighbours have chained the Husky, they 'don't know what to do with him'. He has previously jumped into the other adjoining yard and killed the Maltese there. Hopefully, daughter has now rung ACO by now.
  7. I have read that they can be quit loud, but as far as I'm aware, this can be fixed with some training. We will be putting him/her through obedience school and when we're home (I work a 9 to 5 and my partner is a student) he/she will have plenty of attention. Is this an incorrect assumption? The more info the better I had a mini and she was not loud or barky. She would alert to strangers (before she went deaf). So they are not ALL noisy. They are great little dogs. I lost mine a week before her 20th birthday. Thanks for the info. I've also read that the long haired minis are quieter than the smooth - do you know if that is true? Mine was a smooth. My friend has LH.
  8. I think the standards are worse for being barky. My friend has minis and they aren't yappers either. My mum's friends standards on the other hand, would drive me to drink.

  10. Abbey, my mini Dachsy, died a week before her 20th. Columbus, Mini Foxie is 19 and still plays with the Shih tzu.
  11. Our meter reader left a padlock and two keys which is padlocked on one end of the gate chain and our padlock . He can get in and we don't have to be there.
  12. I've not come across a yappy Shih. None of ours have been.
  13. Shih tzu. Top little dogs, very trainable and character galore.
  14. One of my neighbours has a Bichon and we're pretty much bush with all the nasties. Drew is kept clipped. He's a great little farm dog and mixes it with the ACDs. We had a foster Bichon who was also clipped. He was terrific at rounding up the goats, so they do have stamina.
  15. Oh she's beautiful. RIP old girl. So sorry for your loss.
  16. Someone paid her fine and will continue to register the dog for her. She didn't even seem grateful.

  18. Where in Sydney? It's a big place...
  19. I am assuming (rightly or wrongly), that the bait came from the mine.
  20. Thanks Jules. It was devastating. You can't control 1080 baiting when the NPs or the mining copanies want to bait. I don't think they realise that more than the pests they are concerned with can be affected.
  21. I lost three of my dogs because a fox (or eagle) dropped baited meat in our paddock.
