Raining cats and dogs is actually an idiom. A simile compares two unlike things with the use of the word 'like' or 'as'. A metaphor expresses the familiar with the unfamiliar. I hope you are not an English teacher Tralee

Thanks for your thought everyone. It is very different without him.

A Silky was my first dog when I was little. She was a great little dog. -
That's gold. The pug was a bit useless

We haven't had power all day, the electricity guy has just been here to fix it. He's had a drink to his mate.

The backhoe has just arrived to bury him. Another piece of my heart left here....

My beautiful Belgian boy is gone. He was 11. He was adopted from the RSPCA at 10 months old. He'd been picked up by them as a 4 month old with his collar embedded in his neck We met the vet who saved him and he said they tossed a coin to either operate or PTS. I'm glad they took the chance and operated. He always carried the scar of his ordeal with a deep ridge in his neck. Mandrake loved people. The electricity reader was one of his best friends. Visitors had to endure the great hairy lump trying to insinuate himself onto their laps. He was a gentle big fella. Beautiful temperament, always a waggy tail. He saw me through a lot of heartache, now he's left me with a new one. He could be a pain in the bum and I sometimes wondered if he had a brain to bless himself with. He was always full of surprises. I took him to an obedience trial when he was 9 and he won the beginners section despite never having been to a class. He was terrified of thunder and chickens. He was my mate. He was my dog. Rest easy Mandrake. edit t fix my phone mistakes

The council where it happened.
-
Well, you're right. He's not a Stafford. First pic looks like there could be a bit of Kelpie in him.

Ring your council and tell them you want to report a dog attack. They'll put you through to the right place. Was your dog hurt?

Me too!!!
