  1. What about Laeks? Haven't had anything to do with them. Fostered half a dozen Groens. Meh.
  2. I've had Tervs and Mals but wouldn't touch a Groen with a barge pole.
  3. There are 2 vets local to this pound. Never any dramas getting dogs booked in.
  4. It's the tooth that gets me every time. She belonged to an old bloke and we used to mind her when he went to hospital. One day he never came home. His daughter asked if Sue could stay. She had a role of honour at his funeral, as Mr Bojangles blared across the cemetery. Never saw old Maurie dance though.
  5. Her nails grow really quickly. That was a week after her last trim.
  6. Sue She used to be that lovely golden colour all over. And yes, her nails were trimmed.
  7. Nawwwww. That's gorgeous. :)
  8. I will post some pics of Sue when I get on the computer. She's the current oldie at 19.
  9. I just need one example of a country pound to hush the naysayers here that reckon it can't be done. Suggest working with one of the vets and your posts get deleted.
  10. Maybe the Coolie and the Shitty then. The odd couple.
  11. There is only one direct neighbour and the yard has colourbond fencing with the lattice extension. It's a great town for walking and whoever would get a walk in the morning before I leave for work and again in the afternoon. The yard is quite small. There is also an excellent doggy daycare that I would probably use weekly.
  12. They'll be at the farm with Mr R. I'm staying in town during the week.
  13. A Shih tzu, Mini Foxie and a Chi x. The MF is the only one who has ever lived in suburbia.
  14. Our house in town settles on Tuesday and then the important decision about which dog to take with me. I keep changing my mind. I'd like to take my Coolie but don't know how she'd go. It's hard.
  15. I'm going to be a one dog household through the week. Just have to decide which dog.
  16. We have a Shepherd with several smaller dogs, (Shihtzu, Mini Foxie, Chix and a couple of JRx). No dramas. Errol gets down to their level to play.
  17. not really - they are terriers ,and lively . I guess how 'elderly ' and how much training/walking/ 'doing stuff' would be done .... ? I beg to differ. Jezebel belonged to an elderly lady, my friend's grandmother. She had her from a pup. She showed her initially, then ill health appeared. We got Jez when she was 9, she's now 13. It was only because Gran went into a nursing home that she came to us. She can run and run and will do if let off lead in the paddock. Usually she is by my side. I ALWAYS know where she is She is happy to sit around and do nothing all day. She was a little unsure of Mr R when she first came, but quickly warmed to him. She wasn't used to having men around. They are adaptable little dogs, smart and easy to teach. Jez is not my first Foxie. We recently lost Columbus (aged 21) and have had quite a few as fosters. I think they are wonderful little dogs.
  18. Mini Foxie Club link. http://www.minifoxie.org/
  19. Here is my Jezebel. She is a registered Mini Fox Terrier and was shown when younger.
  20. Columbus, in his 22nd year. Abbey, a week before her 21st birthday.
