Definitely not hard to do, have done it many times. When I am sending puppies to Sydney I do not use dog transporters I just deal direct with Virgin airlines, ring and make a booking through them and it cuts out the middle man. I know of two Frenchie puppies flown from Sydney last Thursday to Adelaide they flew together as they are only 11 weeks old, but the people just hired the crate, Virgin do not sell or hire the crates but they told my friend who sent the puppies to hire the crate through Jet Pets, I use this company when shipping internationally they are excellent, when you arrive or the puppy's breeder arrives at the Adelaide airport the crate is already there. The cost of hire of the crate plus the freight on the two puppies was $148, that was just last Thursday.

Just coming in here to thank you for that video of your beautiful family which of course includes your magnificent four legged member. He is so much part of the family. -
Well the French Bulldog registrations have gone through the roof in the UK, just received my weekly electronic copy of Dog World this morning and the breed is being pointed out as the one that has increased with puppy registrations for 2016. I have a very close friend over there and she has decided not to breed any more of her beautiful Frenchies as they are now ten a penny, but still demanding ridiculous prices, same problems with the colour factor and health problems. If people would just do their homework and only use health tested breeding stock, as did we who have had them for years, there would not be the out of control health problems, not to mention the colour problem. quarterly_breed_stats_utility.pdf

Maybe ask the breeder if they could look after the puppy for three days. I always look after any puppy/dogs that I have bred for the new owners.

As Ruralpug has said, these type of "breeders" should be reported to the controlling body in the state the puppy was bred in, for falsely registering the colour on the Mains register pedigree, they can put them on the Limited register with the correct colour, blue in this case, until new owners of suspicious colours in the breed do this we will never be able to get this under control. As for the health issues mentioned, if a breeding is thoroughly researched before the mating takes place, these health issues do not raise their ugly heads, I have had the breed for many years and I have to say that the dogs that I have owned and bred have only had to go for their annual check ups, in my case for AI's and c sections as well, and lived healthy lives to a great age, most around 13 years of age. On just a few occasions has there been the need to shorten the palate.

There are breed clubs for Frenchies, the original one which is in NSW, also Victoria and Queensland have clubs, Western Australia have a club called French Bulldog appreciation group, at least I think that is how they call it. These clubs can only do so much, remember not all French Bulldog breeders are members of any of these clubs. We do not have anything here in SA nor does Tasmania, not enough of us to form a club, nor does anyone have the inclination.

Totally agree about the falsification of colour on the pedigree, thought about that too, but as RuralPug has said they would sooner or later, sooner rather than later, get caught and get thrown out of their State governing body. Something has to be done about this, it has just snowballed out of control and I would say that there is a common factor as to why and it is definitely not for the betterment of the breed. Sadly the can of worms has been opened to allow these colours to be registered, will take years, if ever, to get things back as they should be, another beautiful breed being ruined.

This is so upsetting the amount of puppies on the for sale thread. What gets me is they are advertising as blatantly as they can their "blues, chocolates" and all other colours as if it was a badge of honour and that these are rare colours, be damned they are not, when I first went into Frenchies years and years ago on the breed standard then these colours were a disqualification. Well when I received my January journal the ANKC pages that give changes to certain things in the dog world, there is a section in regard to French Bulldogs, that the colours mentioned above and being priced out of sensibility, are now only allowed to be registered on the Limited register, this is for dogs that are not allowed to be shown, bred from or exported, to me this has not gone far enough as these people will register them as another colour to get them on mains, it should be an out and out disqualification.

A grey finds a home... and some elderly folk a much wanted dog!

Beautiful story and such a happy ending for that magnificent handsome Bart, what a name, that suits him perfectly. Looks like he has lived there all his life, Greyhounds and for that matter, my ageing slightly bigger than most Italian Greyhounds, just lounge around all day barely noticing the world go by, but should someone knock on our door, she is up and about letting them know there is a "savage" watch dog in the house, she is just amazing. -
What to do with dog when I go on vacation?!
Mjosa replied to Cuko13's topic in General Dog Discussion
9 weeks is far too long to leave your dog. Two suggestions, go to see your family but maybe just for a month, would be easier to find someone to look after him either in your home or theirs, I look after dogs that I have bred but would not take on the responsibility of nine weeks, month for me would be enough. Suggestion 2. I f you are going to be away nine weeks or maybe longer as you said, I would rehome him, he is only young and it would only be fair for him and he would be a lot happier. -
How absolutely beautiful.

Hi Paul 777, yes it has been hard on my son losing both of them so close together, so fit and healthy looking when I was in Sydney the beginning of Nov last year, to what has just happened to them, my heart breaks. No it was not from fretting that Jackson passed so soon after Maya, they found out that she had cancer of the lungs and would have passed within a few days of her being taken to the vet, was not coping with the terrible heat, panting, the day that it cooled down my son noticed that she was still panting for no apparent reason so off to the vet and she did not come home until a week later in a beautiful box. Jackson seemed to be coping, our son was down to Adelaide for a few days between Christmas and New year, got home on the Sunday and by Monday Jackson did not want to eat or drink so off to the first vet who kept him for four days and let him come home saying if not better in a few days to bring him back, of course my son was in touch with me every day, told him to get a second opinion and I recommended a vet that I know of near where he lives, got in on the Saturday, taking all the info from the first vet, said xrays do not show anything be skeletal, so gave him a berium meal to see further into it, son got a call that Jackson actually had a massive stomach tumor, so once again the dreaded cancer has taken two more beautiful dogs, it seems to me, I could be wrong, but this cancer seems to be the major cause of death in this beautiful breed.

Oh Donna that is just such sad news about your beautiful babies, breeding is such a hard thing to deal with at times and this is one of them, when I had not heard anything for a while I felt a little sad at heart thinking the worst, bless those precious little souls. Glad that your girl Tipsy has bounced back, hopefully you will have better luck next time around. There is the irony and well done you for taking on that poor Mother and her babies, some that were obviously not planned nor wanted, but they are in safe hands with you.
-
Beautiful baby boy, sadly my son who lives in Sydney lost his two within a matter of three weeks, one last December and the other just a week ago, aged 7 and 9, he like you will get another when the time is right. Maybe move these beautiful photos of your baby to the photo thread otherwise a lot of people will not get the pleasure of seeing him. He certainly does not look like a puppy problem.
-
Hi Donna, Just wondering if your girl Tipsy had her baby delivered safe and sound.
-
I can understand how you feel, but at least you seem to have a wonderful vet and I am sure that with the monitoring that is being done they will do the right thing and take the puppy when they think it is right, with only one puppy, I am only speaking from experience here, she may not go into labor so that has to be taken into consideration, I had an elective c section done on my girl last year for the singleton, she was day 62. Oh wow what a drop in her progesterone, no wonder she is having difficulty in holding onto her pregnancy. Fingers crossed and a prayer that she will at least make it through to Tuesday, will anxiously be waiting to see how it all goes.

I include on the diet sheet scrambled eggs once a week, do not use ordinary or puppy milk in the mixture, great believer in goats milk, the puppies are fed them from six weeks old, but remember only once a week, they just love them. :)

:) That is good to hear that that little heart keeps on going. Poor Tippy having to go through the tests but please God it will be all worth it with an amazing baby at the end of it all. Hurry up Wednesday. Is this day 63? I have had puppies born at 59 to 63 days gestation, so if your vet feels that to save the baby before Wednesday do not panic, they are usually very viable.

Same here Kirislin, no one gets a walk when there are little ones here.
-
So sorry to hear this heart breaking news , there are so many things that have to go right. Hope that the little heart beat survives. to you.

So hard to let them go, we wish they were here forever. Beautiful girl go with the angels to the and know that you were so loved.

Bless beautiful Stella, such a sweet little girl, just so hard to let go, but you did the kindest thing for her Fly with the angels Stella to the

Sorry, getting threads mixed, even so with your little one I still would not get him done until 12 months, give him the chance to develop into the amazing little boy I am sure he is going to be. As for the problem you have with him, be assured it is not an unusual thing in male puppies, they do grow out of it, just try and keep him occupied with toys and games, it will all come together believe me it will, been there too and done that
